  1. If they resigned, people would be breaking rules left and right. There will be more advertising website bots. JAGeX would need to pay more people to moderator RuneScape which will increase the price of membership and pretty soon F2P won't exist. im saying why do they complain so much but stay a pmod? pmods make very little difference to the "advertising website bots" problem and almost no differance to rule breaking which actually hurts players (not someone calling someone a noob or claiming a bucket is rare), most advertising bots are doing it while mass registering other accounts and getting them off tutorial probably, i used to alch in lumby/varrock (sometimes funny convos happen lol) and there was almost nonestop advertising bots, and if a pmod came and muted one it was usually a case of 10 minutes later the same bot is back. LOADS of account sharing/luring etc goes on away from where pmods even could be nearby, most of pmod reports are probably reporting noobs who are like lvl 40 or less and only joined the game to be annoying. i once saw a pmod who literally camped in lumbridge for hours muting all the noobs trying to sell accounts etc, all that did was spam up jagex reports because they make new accounts in 10 minutes, bots which sign up just to spam cant be stopped by mutes and bans, players scamming/luring etc CAN be though. also whos saying reg players cant report? also theres over 6k pmods so if the whiny ones demoted themself there would still be alot, and you see the thing is RS is a GAME, if someone finds being a pmod is ruining their fun but they just whine rather than resign, maybe they should reconsider why they play rs, then look at their lifestyle...
  2. if u want stupid rants goto RSOF
  3. and the ironic thing is you can get wild dogs as a slayer task but i didnt see anyone say about that
  4. I wish I had that option on you in real life... rl threats over a game?
  5. omg who gave greenpeace or whoever the link to this forum, suprised there hasnt been many ""npc here" abuse!" topics before. ITS A GAME for crying out loud, you KILL CHICKENS/COWS ETC AND EVEN PEOPLE.
  6. i wouldnt be a pmod for a second even if i was paid, i barely even play rs now though so i just wouldnt login for the day. if i did play, id just play as i did normally and i would block the people who obsess over seeing a pmod rather than bother chasing them around and making a big deal. thats another point btw lol - pmods say about how "hard it is for them" because people "bother them" for being a pmod , why dont they just resign if its so bad? or do they just love attention?
  7. thats wrong in 100s of ways. so, in your mind a random level 30 is someone who is a good player and an example to others, but they see a post on a fansite and go crazy and start muting for no reason? stop replying to my posts, 90% of your replies are too stupid to even reply to. most of these abusing pmods are people who shouldve NEVER BEING A PMOD IN THE FIRST PLACE, thats one of my points. ill summarize the 3 main points for you: 1. jagexs recruitment methods for pmods, are well terrible, making basically NEW PLAYERS be pmods all the time. 2. pmods have big advantage over regular players. 3. jagex does nothing if pmods abuse their powers (refer to 2, pmods can EASILY make a player be severly disadvantaged by muting them and nothing happens about it, having trusted players being able to mute IS a good idea but it isnt moderated properly by jagex so its too easily abused)
  8. this being one of those. moderators get no game advantages. the ones discussed here are could hardly be called advantageous, and affect players and the few corrupt mods there are. i'd think i know a bit about mutes. ask any mod, they've likely had mutes lifted at one point or another. 1: easier to trade, yes. you still have to find the mod in a mass of people, don't you? -annoying you is not an advantage - 3: you can never tell how they'll act once being modded. whether you like it or not, they're human, they're entitled to make mistakes 4: nothing happens to anyone that abuses the report system, really. anyone here knows that and swears by how ineffective it is. 5: perhaps you should send a customer support query, they might actually action those 6: point 4 7: that's their ignorance. many players seem to think all p-mods work at jagex. 1. YES IT IS, its annoying when say im training at fast free laws and some pmod is spamming and i cant see the trades. thats just an example and DONT tell me to get over it, players SHOULDNT have the ability to speak through chat off/hide, id understand MAYBE it showing over their heads but not in the chat box on off/hide but its not like that. 3. yeah, making thousands of level 30s mods is a makable mistake? rofl. its just pure stupidity giving people who have played a month a number of advantages over other players, and a position which is meant to show they are an example forother players. 4. they shouldnt just have the mute removed, they should be demoted, being muted is a HUGE disadvantage and mods KNOW if someone is say selling the same thing as them they can EASILY falsely mute them and get away with it. 5. i sent both an abuse report and a complaint to jagex and they just sent an auto msg 6. pmods who abuse their powers should be instantly demoted. 7. nope its just the general rs public think "hes trusted enough to be a pmod, therefore he wont scam", nothing to do with working at jagex.
  9. you couldve reported them for giving false info and misleading players probably. if they where a moderator of the clan chat they had every right to kick but if pmods are auto modded in every clan chat, thats a very STUPID advantage which should be REMOVED. So if I told you your mother is a female dog and your father is a homo sapiens, you can only listen?! 1. P mods don't have to do anything and they could have reported them. etc. 2. Are you 10years old? Go google homo sapien, "your father is a homo spaien" um. ok, ty??? :P Idiots in Rune Scape do say that, I was also once told I' m black scum. Don' t know how that happened since I' m not black, nor is my character... And I know pmods don' t have the obligation to help, but he could' ve reported that one, since they enjoy reporting rule breakers. Doesn' t the crown represent the passion of clicking the report button? it represents they are a trusted player an an example for other players... well its meant to.
  10. Yeah my family computer has Vista on it and it works just fine. not gonna buy the full version until next time i get a new pc probably because xp is fine for now, but when i tested vista RC2 it was fine, and that was MONTHS ago before drivers matured/loads of updates came out etc.
  11. my college has a site blocker thing, but i know some people with lists of like 2k proxies stored on their account, and people who use n64 emulators and everything on there, but if we get caught messing about online during lessons we get a warning. someone who is on their 2nd year knew the it tech's pass last year rofl. the college pcs are MUCH better than the school pcs though. the school pcs where all either pentium 1s with windows 95, or "thin clients" with some random OS which connected to this "citrix ica client" for EVERYTHING which ran some 256 colours windows 2000 server or something, and EVERYTHING was done using the processing power of the server so it was VERY slow, also on the internet it was blocked by stupid keywords rather than an actual list so it was VERY easy for people to get on bad sites, like 2 rooms pcs used xp but we still used the citrix thing for 50% of apps and the teachers could see what ANYONE was doing, also if the wireless connection between the 2 blocks of rooms (Dumb for using a wireless connection to connect like 40 pcs across?) some dropped for a SECOND, every pc crashed. also i wont forget the time i was banned for 2 months for no reason at all (seriously). the college ones are a reasonable spec, only block what needs to be blocked but dont stop people doing what they want to do, and if the network cable is unplugged they probably just keep going but cant access files which are on the main server. we get a warning if we go on games etc in lesson times and get caught, but its alot less restrictive. also the course team leader who does the hardware part of the course im doing told us about how he puts games on the pcs at christmas and links them all up :D
  12. 1. being able to speak thru chat off/friends/hide 2. being able to join any clan chats (not 100% sure of that one) 3. crown = trust, so its easy for pmods to decieve players in none illegal ways like lying about prices. 4. being able to mute players (jagex do nothing if pmods mute for no reason) 5. misinformed players think things like if they attack them in the wild theyll get banned etc. 6. its easy for them to scam because of the crown, and if the person doesnt realise within 60 seconds or the pmod doesnt want to be one anymore they get no actual punishment. 7. stupid level 30s get it and act like they are superior to other players and go around muting people for no reason (and jagex does nothing) 1:that's more a disadvantage, many players add mods the moment they speak 2: that's not a true one 3: but then, any instance of this is posted on fansites. if a mod does anything that isn't perfect, it's posted around the community for all to see. 4: muting is quite restricted. if a moderator does a false mute, it is usually removed within a day. 5: the mod crown makes you more of a target. if i were to speak in the wild, i'd get attacked by almost everyone that can, so they have the satisfaction of having killed a mod. 6: they are demodded, likely watched more closely by jasgex, and, in worst cases, banned. 7: that's their problem, and not an advantage. tell me, have you seen any former moderators? 1. its an advantage because first of all it makes it easier for them to trade, second of all its annoying if i want to only see my friends chat or no chat at all and some pmod is spamming. 2. ok 3. jagex shouldnt make them mods in the first place. 4. yeah but nothing happens to the mod. 5. ive seen a mod in castlewars say "ill mute you all if you attack me!", i reported him because he was power abusing and hes still a mod to this day. 6. nope they just get a slap on the wrist basically 7. it is because people dont doubt them due to a SYMBOL. i know lots of ex-mods who quit because the modding system is BS now. they also all said unless you BEG for attention, people dont harrass you because of modness.
  13. 1. being able to speak thru chat off/friends/hide 2. being able to join any clan chats (not 100% sure of that one) 3. crown = trust, so its easy for pmods to decieve players in none illegal ways like lying about prices. 4. being able to mute players (jagex do nothing if pmods mute for no reason) 5. misinformed players think things like if they attack them in the wild theyll get banned etc. 6. its easy for them to scam because of the crown, and if the person doesnt realise within 60 seconds or the pmod doesnt want to be one anymore they get no actual punishment. 7. stupid level 30s get it and act like they are superior to other players and go around muting people for no reason (and jagex does nothing) infact, how DOESNT someone having a crown next to their name, and having the ability to mute give them an unfair advantage?
  14. average american attitude, thatd be impractical/impossible. And what is that supposed to mean? It means that m4tty is bashing Americans again. Actually, m4tty is right. Draining lakes and blowing them IS impractical/impossible, and the "American attitude" because he said "blow 'em all to hell", which is the American's solution to practically anything. P.S I'm not bashing anyone, I'm just explaining the pattern of thought. yep
  15. im talking about the GAME, not rl... and if someone was experienced at the GAME they wouldnt have ALL stats unranked... its impossible to have experience at the game and have NO stats ranked... standing in varrock talking all day ISNT experience at the game... and id go asfar as saying a "13 year old" level 126 would be a better mod than a 20 year old who just began playing. and the mod in question obviously isnt "Matured minded" or expericned at the game, look at what they are saying and their stats. not a very good example of a good player jagex chose? adding pmods was just a stupid update for low levels that gives some players an advantage over others  notice how the only people defending this are wannabe mods, low lvl pmods, and low lvls who want to be pmods.
  16. average american attitude, thatd be impractical/impossible.
  17. i heard abouit something where if you "do business" into the amazon river there is tiny fish which swim up it and get into you and then turn into big fish and you die and the only way to get rid of them is to cut out the infected body part... similar to this
  18. We don't all live in America, ya know. In some countries it is over $10 for membership. And saying that we are scum just shows how ignorant some members are. So I guess that as soon as I get membership I am no longer the scum of Runescape, even if members beg, scam, auto, hack and generally be noobish. its the same as $10 is, for membership in england if u dont do it by CC.
  19. It's not just what 'the masses' expect of P-mods: Both mods discussed in this thread seem to be lacking by Jagex' standards.
  20. blinded by jagex and can't realize the truth, eh? good try there. as for being a 'low level noob', that's YOUR definition of low level, some have different ideas. personally, i'm comfortable with it... the mod job is entirely voluntary, that's the first thing every source says, whether or not they do what the masses expect is their own business, not that of the people on this board. youve said that about 8 times now, can you HONESTLY say someone with NO RANKED STATS, who INSULTS WHAT PMODS ARE MEANT TO DO, and TYPES LIKE A 12 YR OLD CHAV, deserves a "Position" in the game thats meant to be an EXAMPLE TO OTHER PLAYERS, an ambassador of the game who's actions affect the reputation of jagex? thought so? pmods are meant to be ambassadors of the game and an example to other players, and respected, can you honestly say a 12 year old chav with no stats ranked, who shows disrespect to what they where assigned to do is a respectable player? if they dont like reporting they shouldnt have been asked to be a mod, nvm accepted the position. answer the question btw. also another question, do you consider yourself to "have authority" over other players? just wondering.
  21. its like talking to a brick wall - do you honestly think a level 30 or less who speaks like a 12 year old/chav and says stuff like that deserves to be a mod? who probably has no experience of the game AT ALL? its a noob who had their name picked out of a paper hat because they havent being playing long enough to either be reported or hacked.
  22. what do player mods do? play the game like a normal person. that bit alone shows how little you know of the job. should having a silver crown mean you can't enjoy a game? right, can you do any better? for the most part, i'm not sure you'd make as good a mod as that person, judging by your posts here you cant deny that person is a USELESS mod, im not saying i would be a good one ( i dont play enough either), but that doesnt mean i cant critisise other peoples "modding skills". its like talking to a brick wall, can you HONESTLY say an unranked lvl 30 or less in basically 300gp gear who talks like a 12 yr old/chav is a good mod? especially one who goes around saying stuff like that? you are just some noob who is blinded by jagex and cant realise the truth.
  23. look at their level, gear and spelling ffs, and what they said, just ISNT what a p-mod should say, if they are ashamed of being one they should just resign, and they where never meant to be a pmod, its obvious they are just a noob whos name got randomly chosen. (unranked, has noob gear (NOT joke about noob gear, thats probably their best gear), speaks like a chav/12 year old, goes around saying that) just face it the pmod selection methods are stupid.
  24. Sportgirl258 does not feature in the hiscores. You have to be in the top 1 million (for any skill) and have` a minimum skill level of 30. ^^ another reason i have no clue why they are a pmod, ireally think they just pick random names. unranked person who thinks "reporting is for tattletails", yeah someone who 1) doesnt report 2) is probably 12 yrs old irl (judging by what they said) and 3) has no stats ranked is REALLY a good player
  25. on the first one, well talking about the KKK isnt appropriate for rs or anywhere really, and that comment was way out of line and could be found extremely offensive by some people. on the second one you where spamming, and encouraging other players to break the rules by saying its a "stupid offense". you seem like a very immature annoying player, and lol@ how your accounts both have tonnes of unranked stats.
