How jagex should have selected player mods.
m4tty replied to 123Yourgone's topic in General Discussion
there's a lot more to it than that, and iot's stuff they don't even tell people they selected as mods. to be honest, the only people who should be criticizing the system are the people who know every detail of it, which are the jagex mods in charge of selecting them... I dont have to see the system to know its flawed when i see lvl 36s with white crown, people muted for no reason and p mods threatening to mute when you give away there merchanting tactic.. hacked mods, levels over maturity, and the FEW bad mods. as for the last one, in the end the mod was demodded. you're judging most of the modding community on the actions of a few... the real world equivalent of that is racism. you don't support that , do you? a bit extreme, but it gets the point across... Lets not get on the subject of rascism, my government supports it. The subject is player mods, and the fact that there is that few bad seeds is worrying enough, its not hard to pick people who arnt going to mess up, the problem is, jagex doesnt know any of the people they make mods, if mods were chosen by people who actually play the game, then you would have less chance of some random noob becoming one. i'd personally trust the people who created the game over random people who might pick their friends regardless of how good they might do at the job. a famous player is not exactly a mod-worthy player. if anything, being famous AND a mod makes you a hacking target the size of a city. who cares if you are a "hacking target" or not, aslong as you have more than 2 brain cells you CANT get "Hacked".you are just another low lvl pmod trying to justify jagex making people who dont deserve to be pmods, pmods. -

i assume that recruting pmods straight off tutorial island like they do atm is much better -
the only people who get "hacked" on rs are dumb kids who try to download autos but download a keylogger

that graph is bs tbh.

50c is cold/normal for a processor, you can reach 70-80 degrees and itll be just fine (most shutdown/slowdown the processor at 80-85), i know someone whoruns theirs highly overclocked/overvolted and at 80 degrees+ all the time, and its just fine, the cpu will probably die within less than 2 years but itll be obselete by then. Please stop giving inaccurate information. I know he fixed the problem but a computer running at 50c under load is not hot, even for a desktop. Laptops can run up to 80c under normal operation since the processors are built to stand more heat. Just for the record, my slightly older laptops cpu started failing before it hit 50 C. I would know it was about to go real bad because the entire proccesor basicly stoped working. Some of the times I had to shut it down it may have had a functional speed of 80-100MHz. Also, while a proccesor or RAM chip might withstand 80C for a short period of time, theres no garentee the rest of your mother board will be accomodating. Just rember, a computer at 50C is never going to run as fast as that same computer will at 45-50. heat doesnt affect performance lol, low temps are preffered though, tbh i think you have no idea what you are talking about. ---- anyway back on topic --- if its got fans/filters which can easily be removed, i reccomend to clean them to get rid of dust, it could be software though in which case a backup of important files, then a reinstall of windows would be good. is it hot/warm when you touch the bottom?

tru, its just 90% of the arguments of why to pick 32 bit over 64 bit in an OS when both are the same price are now wrong.
-
every processor now supports 64 bit os's, just get 64 bit if its vista dont listen to people saying "stay 32bit", you cant use more than ~3gb of ram with 32bit and 99% of stuff works, although some old, expensive software (some CAD programs) dont work with 64bit but if thats not an issue, 32bit is a waste. xp 64bit had issues because it was so rare that people used it not many people wrote drivers and with the systems out when xp was the os for new pc's, 64bit was overkill except for professional use where they will only use 64bit if they are 100% sure all apps work.

i disagree, i have some sort of hp photo printer which didnt cost alot, but it is quite high end, and it prints perfectly.

Websites attempting to block Firefox because of ad-blocking
m4tty replied to Jard_Y_Dooku's topic in Tech and Computers
Now that's just stupid. Someone can't take a joke... (Microsoft can, though. If you type that into the ie7 address bar, you get a blank blue background. BSOD, ftl?) Doesn't work on IE7 here, works on IE6 though. Can still get to it in IE7 via res://mshtml.dll/about.moz. Edit: Google says about:mozilla left with XP SP2 :( res://mshtml.dll/about.moz works on fully updated xp sp2. you do know if everyone blocked ads, ALOT of sites would close because the money they use to pay for the server would stop coming in? ALOT of sites rely on ads. although it is abit stupid to block an entire browser. -
Brother - how can I stop him killing my internet
m4tty replied to baron8000's topic in Tech and Computers
its probably that all his internet bandwidth is being hogged by the streaming and none of this would help assuming hes using a router? -
What are you, some kind of moron or something? Try actually reading my post first. It had nothing to do with working with the Chinese government, or blocking China from playing RuneScape, or anything even remotely similar! Jagex doesn't ban IPs for obvious reasons (I wrote a post about it, find it yourself, I'm not going to humor you), and proxy-scanning is far more complex than you realize, and in certain cases impossible or infeasible for Jagex. Take Tor: Do you realize how much of an extra load it would put on Jagex servers to check every incoming IP to see if it had port 9050 open? The amount of permutation allowed for each proxy would make it ridiculous to assume they could implement "better proxy scanning." You made that post without reading my original article at all, and it's completely moronic -- you're speaking against the exact same stupid arguments which drove me to write my original post. Get off my topic. if you actually read my post you would realise i was supporting you that its IMPOSSIBLE to stop cheaters by bans etc and that mass banning ips is impractical, you are obviously only here to flame and show off to 12 yr olds who dont even know what an IP is and are impressed by rambling on about stuff they dont understand, so rather than bother replying to all that ill reply with this... (goodbye, not posting on, or reading, this topic again)

why would jagex have to speak with the chinese government over a game? the government cant enforce a block on trading virtual cash for real cash, and if anything they would say no because if anything it helps them by getting more money into their country. the only thing jagex can do is to start mass banning ips or even isps, and get better proxy scanning etc, but i think they care more about the money from their memberships than fixing an e-economy which suffers basically next to no damage from the gold farmers. you are all acting like the whole of china are goldfarmers and that their goverment is supporting it/forcing people to do it/ knows about it/cares about it, thats not true AT ALL. some of the "Bots" are goldfarmers (mostly chinese), but some are computer programs run by people from america/uk etc. if you went to the police/goverment about it at all, i doubt they would care.

Kid checked out 3 times for possibly being a Terrorist
m4tty replied to Defender2516's topic in Off-Topic
whats a worse mistake? 1) thinking someone is a terrorist and them not being one. 2) thinking someone isnt a terrorist but they are and thousands of innocent people die. -
if world war 3 happens, due to the weapons of mass destruction the world would probably end.

a nolifer is someone who picks rs over rl.

this doesnt apply for all cases but most teen pregnancies are this: chavette goes to a club chavette gets drunk chavette gets with about 5 different chavs chav ditches the chavette chavette has the baby, then scrounges off the council for the rest of her life while the baby's life is a misery when the baby grows up, they get into lots of trouble and stuff due to the mum not caring or just not having enough time. the process continues. sometimes though its not the persons fault, condoms ARENT 100%, most people who are saying stuff like "its the persons fault for being too dumb" etc are obviously virgins and dont realise that most babies whos mums are teens when they have them end up not having a good quality of life due to the fact their mums are too busy to look after them, i hate the idea of people getting nonestop abortions due to carelessness but its for the good of both the mother and the baby in alot of times people have abortions.

CampbellMC's First Vid (Soloing in 18M)
m4tty replied to CampbellMC's topic in Achievements (Drops, Bank Pictures and Levels)
nice vid, one of the best there is, good to see someone pking in that gear with only 5 brews rather than 15 like most guys in that gear do :P, and also pking away from where you can be out the wild in a second like most pkers in that do aswell, especially going into multi/portals etc. and also pking with 1-3 people, not sure why the people with 20 man teams even pk in single tbh. lol @ the pc product edge pkers flaming you saying you "safe" and stuff, in edge when all u risk is rune legs and a dds and maybe a ruby amulet, maybe "none safing" is smart but when pking in 35 wild with 18m waiting till 1hp to eat isnt a good idea.
