it works on any ranged weapon that drops onto the ground after you use it (I'm not sure about obby rings....)---not just iron and steel. They will only SPAWN iron or steel ranged items into your inventory as you walk around. Mine only picks up steel when i use the accumulator. Mine picks rune arrows.

You could try a nice mixture (craft 1k nats per 2k laws) so that you don't lose money. Although it wouldn't be that fast, it'll be much faster than simple nat crafting and much more (61m!) cheaper than sole law crafting.

You are right. There's no point in using a longbow, other than a larger range. It hits the same, and is slower than a shortbow.
