I believe that is just a myth. The strength bonus probably has a formula based on your strength level and strength bonus.

It is because the Rune Crossbow gives +90 range which is 20+ points more than the Magic Shortbow's +69 range. Plus the crossbow is one handed so you can fight dragon's with the anti-dragonfire shield or even use a Zammorak book for more range bonus. The only con is the price of the bolts and the ability to obtain them. Hope I have helped. :

If you want the Quest Cape that bad, you would get 70 agility. :

Magic is one of those skills that cost money to gain levels. Ever since the rise in bowstrings and stuff, high alching isn't a profit anymore. Good luck.

Go for the 70 agility. Just think... if you get 70 agility, you keep it for later quests also. I don't know the miminal requirements though.

Hmm, skills cost money and your not going to make a profit from this. You can't try and decrease the loss of money through the skill. You will need 7,358 high alch's in order to get 80 magic. I would just suggest keeping 7,500 nature runes and selling the other 2,500 for money. Use that money and any other money to buy 7,400 Yew long's 600 each since you don't have 70 fletching. I don't see how you can make any profit with your circumstances. :wall:
