True. I also like Lode's idea of making them "one-time usable". I haven't sold any party hats, ever, but really the prices are starting to make me think of it. What if they start to cost like 50 mil? Or even 100 mil? Dang!

It just makes the post sound more interesting to personify the phats. I'm not actually that attached to them. Currently it is fashionable to blame merchants but even if these "elite" merchants didn't exist I think rares would still be outrageously priced. I do understand what you mean, though. Merchanting is my most underdeveloped skill - in the old days I even refused to do medium-big trades with people I didn't know but now RS is too big for that.

A man after my own heart :) My thoughts exactly. Dump all rares into the river Salve. Why hate a poor innocent party hat? It hasn't done anything to you. I am one of many "legit" phat owners. It's not our fault we picked up a holiday drop and later people wanted them. We didn't even know RS would last this long so it's not like we were being greedy picking up things and keeping them.

Finally, the truth rofl. Mages have been playing down their strengths but from my own experience even with blk hides high level mages can still hit you through it and keep you entangled forever. I'm high def, 98 hp and 82 mage btw. Hmmm nonetheless after some experience fighting mages I think I'll be ok. I am getting range and mage up just for this though. :P Teleblock those ancient mages then kill em with range! I'm 82 mage and for me magic training is all profits. ;) Never spent a single gp on it.

You know when you go to the wildy how many pkers do you see who use melee? Practically EVERYONE! :shock: It's always been the most popular skill.

Well yes I have seen this on other games but not on online games. Basically once you reach a certain level then things that are greatly below that no longer give exp. So for example if you were level 115 then chickens should not give exp.

Wel mages got a whole new set of powers so it's the meleer's turn to get their new melee attacks, then rangers. ;)

Yes. Mages get new goodies to use every few levels, melee deserves the same. They shouldn't be hugely overpowered things that would kill everything in sight, but some small but useful ways of rewarding levels would be good.

Only the spinning kick could not be done in full armor the rest could. Like if there were a "deathblow" then why on earth would it not be able to do it with a weapon. FYI "martial arts" is NOT the same as "unarmed combat skills."

Hmph but I'd hardly call that equal when whip and granite are so much more expensive compared to magic shortbow+black drag hides.

Oh, cool. That would be better. Pinkus, hmmm, I had thought of these in the context of pking, like they would not be used on npcs. I guess we could have melee specials on npcs, too but in a limited way since melee is already pretty easy to train.

But trixstar my idea is to give melee levels more meaning rather than making melee'rs hard to kill. If you are going that way I would rather have a "death blow" effect for 99 attack that gives an extra hit whenever the enemy is at 15 hp. Kinda like the opposite of the ring of life. :wink:

I see that with the new quest magers get a whole new set of spells, ancient magics. I think melee, the most popular skill in RS, should also get a whole new set of attacks! Right now attacks are all based on which weapon you equip but how about some melee attacks based on your melee stats? Let's say have some new quest and you learn "ancient fighting arts." :twisted: Just some examples, I'm sure you can think of better ones. 80 def: Drain energy - takes your enemy's energy and transfers it to you 80 att: Spinning kick - attacks all nearest enemies 90 att: Breaking point - weakens enemy's armour (slightly only lol) 90 def: Spiritual defense - added def when being multi'ed, includes def against mage and range all 99 stats: Irresistible force - negates melee prot prayer (hahahaha) These effects are all in addition to the melee damage done and are random and automatic whenever you fight. IMHO better melee stats should also have an advantage, not just better weapons.

Absolutely NO low level herblaw on f2p. Period. This will just make herbs and second ingredients even more expensive than they already are. Let them have the regular pots but not herblaw itself.

Hmmm I think their combat level might give them away... Nope because the real l6vi might actually be wiped (all level 1 stats) anyway since he might not have logged in for years.

Ah thanks but atm my pc itself needs to be replaced or repaired before I can fix RS. Dunno why evertyhing crashed. I even reinstalled win98, btw, still got error messages so it didn't work.

I am now posting from an internet cafe. I dl'ed the updates from windows update website (took over 2 hours) it crashed my system and now my computer either won't load or when it does load (using an old backup registry from 1 yr ago) it can't connect to the internet. :( :( :( I'm either buying a new pc or sending this one to be repaired/upgraded. :shock: I knew it, windows update website is evil!!!!!!! :evil: The updates sabotage your pc and make you buy a new pc and get win xp. :shock:

Um thanks. Seems like a broken image there but I can't seem to edit posts. I hate the windows update page it so hard to navigate and ie gives me tons of errors. Is it ok to use Opera with RS? I could dl the Java version of it instead of the lastest IE. I actually browse with Opera (the smaller app without java) but the windows Rs client uses IE (I think).

;) Stickies are good for something. Uh they aren't good for everything. I read it but it doesn't apply to me I'm not using those things - there is no "Java (sun)" in my options anywhere.
