  1. I'm more interested in the new items introduced in this update than the typical doomsayers that always get attention with every update. Too bad that the items are so rare that we have so little information about them. No, Jagex enjoys their "number one Free to play MMO" title too much and the recently added incentives to become a member would be rather pointless if they were going to scrap the whole free-to-play game. Take a look at the PC gaming industry, Free to Play gaming with optional subscriptions/micro-transactions is still a growing trend.
  2. I haven't used SMS to subscribe in quite a while so policies might have changed, but when I did it you could buy as many months as you wanted without having to wait for your current membership to run out.
  3. Went to spin, saw divine, ags, and a huge xp lamp. Won three law runes, and another three law runes. Not a great start to my spinning history.
  4. I don't have any specific numbers, but I can tell you from experience that having an Obsidian Golem around provides a noticeable difference to speed while mining. I'd say it's worth it to get the summoning levels.
  5. Posted on your behalf in the thread. Hope it helps.
  6. Edit: Apparently you can't link directly to RSOF threads, so I'll just tell you there's a subforum called Account Help on the official forums, there you should find two threads, one called "I've been hijacked" and another called "Help recovering your account". Go take a look at those, and report back if you have any more questions. Also, here are the quick find codes which should make it a bit easier to find the threads. Help Recovering your account - [qfc]250-251-139-63571758[/qfc] I've been Hijacked - [qfc]250-251-289-63575570[/qfc]
  7. I'd move to Red Salamanders until you hit 63, then Carnivorous Chinchompas until 80, then Igneous Jadinkos all the way to 99. Shouldn't take too long.
  8. Yes please, finally have a reason to go through the trouble of getting goliaths.
  9. FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF. I just destroyed like 500 scorpion meat and craploads of potions couple of weeks ago. :( Otherwise, this update looks decent. Very happy about the ability to skip the taunt/victory cutscenes. Should make the Tower a lot more enjoyable. By the wording there, it sounds like only items that are currently in your rewards chest can be exchanged for xp. Not rewards you've already claimed.
  10. About 10-12 hours. Good luck on getting your Comp Cape.
  11. I really can't recommend Microsoft Security Essentials more. It's hands down the absolute best anti-virus out there. Say what you want about Microsoft as a whole, but MSE is pretty much flawless. As for Spybot, they aren't affiliated with Microsoft so you could at least give them a try. Either way, good luck with your computer issues.
  12. I'd recommend getting Microsoft Security Essentials, which you can download here, and Spybot which you can download here. Scan with Spybot and use MSE as your primary antivirus software from now on. Both of them together provide pretty comprehensive protection from viruses/trojans/etc. After you've scanned you should probably change any important passwords to be on the safe side. As for the specific trojan that seems to have infected your computer, I can't really comment on that, but Spybot and MSE should be able to take care of it.
  13. The charges only deplete when you attack a creature in the Tzhaar caves, sorry for not specifying before. When the charges deplete you can no longer use the teleports or the 10% bonus damage against creatures in the caves.
  14. The p2p tutorial is completely optional. Anyone with a trace of insight into the mind of a new player would realize that a tutorial involving fighting trolls and whatnot would not be passed up. And those players, even if they did not opt to go P2P, would think "5 Thieving? Doesn't matter" and continue playing. You underestimate the average person's need to completely ignore tutorials. Why do you think you run into so many new players who ask obvious questions that are already covered in the tutorial?
  15. The charges deplete with each attack, one charge per attack, unless you're using the Dark Bow in which case it's two charges per attack. You can recharge the ring with 50,000 tokkul by talking to one of the two tzhaar from the end of the quest. I believe the 10% bonus applies to every monster you can find within the Tzhaar caves, with the exception of jad.
  16. The p2p tutorial is completely optional.
  17. You can find a good guide to chinning here. It hasn't been updated in a while, but the information is all still relevant.
  18. Called it. The great (and so very modest) Avatar is right yet again. http://forum.tip.it/topic/307699-possibility-of-a-members-free-trial-in-the-coming-months/
  19. At your level fly fishing is by far the fastest experience. I recommend sticking to Shilo.
  20. Hm, I just discovered that the new Tzhaar ring gives some awesome bonuses, so thanks for telling me. I only have 75 prayer, so I don't think it's worth it. I'd rather stick with good ol' classic buffs. Why did you use a Zamorak spear? For the crush bonuses or the special? I do have a Saradomin Sword for crushing things. I was already thinking about getting some super set pots in my inventory already. Thanks for the reply. Nomad is weak to stab, and the Zamorak Spear is a superb stabbing weapon, although if you have a chaotic rapier or cls they're obviously the superior choices. A super set is a good choice in any case, worth the lost brews imo.
  21. Switch the Ring of Recoil for an Archers or something similar as the Ring of Recoil doesn't work on Nomad. If you have access to curses Leech Defense works pretty well on him. I wouldn't recommend protection prayers until the melee portion of the fight as they don't really have any effect until then. I used melee against him with a zamorak spear for the last portion of the fight and it felt a lot easier than ranging him, but if you aren't confident in your melee skills stick to your ranged strategy. Also as far as I know Piety doesn't effect familiars damage output, but you might want to double check that as I'm not a summoning expert. In all, your set up seems pretty good. Good luck taking Nomad down.
  22. [hide] [/hide]@Ren, Glad to see all that bot killing paid off. Also you might need to use the form Kaida posted above to make sure this picture replaces your previous one. http://img811.imageshack.us/img811/3577/gttpic2012.png
  23. Decided I'd actually apply this time. I hope my low post count doesn't work against me too much :ohnoes:. Good luck to all the other applicants.
  24. I could get behind this. That sounds way better.
