Spirit of Summer
http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2quest_id=193 In this quest guide it says in the suggested section. However, to cast this you need 61 magic. Also, it is Eadgar's Ruse quest that is required.

Treasure Trail - Missing Clue
There is a missing clue that I've come across: The location of the crate is in the second floor of the south tower east of the Lumbridge teleport spot. There are only two crates there one on top of the other so I'm guessing it was the top one I searched.

It's a very small mistake but confusing nonetheless. However It turns out that the original guide is right. I thought this might be worth a mention.

A New Computer?
But for ~£5 more should I get the other one? The graphics card in the Zoostorm one seems s[bleep]ier than that of the dells?

A New Computer?
I'm looking for a new computer. I have about £350 to spend, I could maybe go a wee bit above but it'd have to be worth it. I'm not really that good with computers and want a fairly good base unit, with decent performance for light gaming - no new games - just the old driving games - pretty low quality stuff, internet browsing and word processing for uni (which isn't 'till next year but best to prepare). I don't want a laptop as I'm staying at home don't need it and I know enough to know that you get less for your money with laptops. I've seen a few base units with 1GB RAM but I'm not sure if this is good enough for vista as my sisters laptop has 1GB and is sluggish. I've looked at the DELL website and tried a "build your own" option, but when I chose some options (2GB RAM etc.) it brought the price up too much. I've looked at this one: http://www.ebuyer.com/product/151923 which seems pretty good but I don't know that much. Do any of you guys know if there are any good deals to be had just now within the UK in my price range or should I just concede defeat and accept that the ebuyer one is the best I'm gonna get for my money just now? Thanks in advance.

Check the white balance. That's what I'd go for first, but low ISO + mid aperture is always good too. Remember to use the NR function if you have it to reduce noise. Good luck!

I think it's a bit unlikely that a course tutor would penalise those who choose to have a FULL COLOUR ORIGINAL and convert it to sepia later. Why would they limit the use of a photo like that? If you ask me I would shoot in RAW and convert to a sepia JPEG. It probably won't be known that you did that and that way you've got the full colour RAW file for later. The tutor is an idiot. Very strange... EDIT: By the way, I would recommend looking up your user manual - I'm not too sure of how to do that with my own camera, let alone a different make and model. Sorry

You can manually desaturate it in any decent imaging program. The GIMP should suffice, however if you're on a course you might have access to PS. In which case you could shoot in RAW and convert it to black and white there - less lossy than converting JPEGs.

What I hate about getting PKed... other than dying
I hate that revenants attack abyss RCers. That was something only the lowliest of PKers did. It's totally unfair that you can be frozen, without prayer, skulled and with pouches and killed in seconds. I avoided the wilderness when ever possible due to the PKers, but at least the PKers recognised who was worth killing. Incidentally, if you're teleblocked by a revenant while RCing (and survive) does that mean you can't use the abyss till the TB wears off? I don't know 'cos I've yet to survive an attack.

I'd say the Sony is on par with the Canon and Nikon equivalents. Also, you might be able to pick up a few second hand lenses too, I know that the alpha mount is the same as the old Konica Minolta mount. I'm not really up to speed on prices or quality of those (or for that matter, Nikon) lenses. However, I can tell you that I picked up a used 20D and I've never had a problem with it and there are a great number of good lenses for it. There are risks buying second hand - always ask how it was used (professionally etc.) If it was used by a professional it will have been used very heavily and the shutter will have had more actuations. So the life of the camera will be shortened. Always check for sensor dust and other things that might help knock some money off the price that you might be able to fix yourself. To check for dust ask the owner to take a photo of a piece of paper at the lenses smallest aperture and check the image for black blobs or specks on the image (you may have to zoom in). Before you buy the camera - check that you can get affordable, but decent, lenses for it. Online reviews and magazines are invaluable here. Good luck!

I'm gonna assume that your dad will have a few lenses for his camera. If that's the case I would get a Nikon - a D80 is probably your best bet for the price. However, if you've got the cash you might fancy the D200. However I've heard the battery is poor on the D200. Definitely get a different kit lens than the one your dad has so you can mix and match. If you don't want to go down the Nikon line I'd highly recommend the Canon EOS 40D. Although I don't have that one I have the 20D - which is basically the same with a lower resolution, different processor and no live view. Canon L lenses are to die for. EDIT: As for shooting panoramas none of the above will take a panorama without you having to crop or stitch photos together. And the Nikon has a great 105mm F/2.8 VR macro lens. Presumably you'll want a wide angle lens, which might sway you more to the Nikon line as they have a slightly larger sensor (thus a lower crop factor). Though this will affect the effective focal length minimally and Canon have a great wide angle lens. Good luck. EDIT 2: Just read that you only have one lens for the D40 - though if you get lenses with an AF motor you should be fine for the Nikon D40 and you and your dad could share lenses. Just something for you to consider.

I didn't use a tripod, simply because I was moving around too much for it to be useful, plus the one I have won't support the weight of my lens and body. I had my ISO set to 200-400 and I had the aperture wide open at F/2.8, but when I was shooting the light was fading. I will be going back at some point but I like the movement in the wings. That's my personal opinion though. I was quite pleased with the lack of blur considering my shutter speeds were around 1/50s and 1/250s with the effective focal length being 300mm. I do see your point though.

Just a little information on the D40 or D40x: these cameras don't have an AF motor so you need to get lenses with an AF motor built in. For Sigma, that means HSM, I'm not sure about what Nikon lenses have to denote an AF motor though, sorry. Look into this before splashing out on a lens that might not be able to focus automatically.

Chirstmas/Bday gifts for B/F...
A few vouchers for his favourite shop? Or vouchers, hand written by you with some wee things on it e.g. Good for 1 hug He might appreciate the more personal touch, but get him something else as a "real" gift. Remember he probably won't expect anything too lavish.

Do you live in the past? \ And, what prize did you get? 8-) thanks for voting guys. Ha! Just noticed that! May 2008. I went to the prize giving on Wednesday and it was great fun. I won ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã75 cash and a framed print of my winning entry. This one guy went away with over ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã1500 of prizes and 6 framed prints - his dad's a pro photographer and he goes out and takes photos when he does and gets to use his stuff. :( Great fun - I'm going for it next year - I've been out shooting a lot more.

My big news: I just got the best news I've had for a long time. I've been commended for a photo competition. All schools in Scotland were invited to take part in this and I've won a prize! I don't know what it is yet but I get to go to the awards ceremony at Dynamic Earth - expenses paid. I can't wait. This is the biggest thing I've won in photography ever. I got it for one of my most recent photos titled "Me and My Shadow": I really doubted that would win anything but my parents and friends said I should put it in and see what happens. I'm glad I did! The ceremony is the 14th of November and I won't know what I've won till then. As far as I know, my photo will be displayed in Dynamic Earth for a while afterwards, so I'm really pleased with myself.

A photo manipulation?
I like the effect on the floor but the person seems to have some colour fringing. Personally, I'd do this: Duplicate the background layer. Apply the effect on the copied layer. Select eraser and erase the part of the copied layer with the person on it. Adjust opacity of the edited layer to suit and merge the two layers. That's what I'd do so you get the effect on the floor but not the fringing on the person.
