Greasemonkey script
Nice to see that you have a clear respect for the rules and figures of authority on this forum. There is no reason to do it. I'd say the reason that you're having such a problem is because you're creating unnecessary work for yourself. You're the one clicking once every 2 seconds when there's absolutely no reason to. You're the one turning seven minutes into a "wait." You can easily go back to whatever it is you were doing (playing RS, doing something IRL, whatever), and turn back to your computer or to the Tip.it screen once every minute to submit one of your new posts. You don't have to sit there staring at the screen for seven minutes.

The flood control is 60 seconds. Including the time it takes you to write your post, you'd probably only have to wait 30 seconds at the most to submit your message. Waiting 30 seconds is not a big deal and it's not going to prevent you from getting things done. An admin has already told you not to do it, so I'm sure that there will be consequences if you decide to follow through with it anyway. Now we're getting off track so I think we can end this conversation and turn to the actual topic at hand :P

There's no need to create any form of automated scripts to refresh the page over and over, simply wait a minute or so and then submit your post, or if you get the flood control message, wait a minute and refresh. That's the point. Why should I sit there for 30-40 seconds hitting refresh every time I want to post a simple reply? I've had 6 replys open before at once, in threads like H&A it is very easy to type a helpful but short response in 10 to 15 seconds. I don't see the point in me sitting there hitting 'submit' for 5 minutes when I could just as easily have finished posting and go back to whatever I was doing before. You don't have to keep refreshing. If you hit the limit, stop, read a different thread for 30 seconds or so and then go back and hit submit for a second and final time. There is no need to refresh over and over again or hit 'submit' for 5 minutes. You can easily "go back to whatever you were doing before" for 30 seconds, then go back to your reply written in another tab/window and try hitting 'submit' again. No one is making you constantly refresh the page or hit 'submit.'

how many tools
12,300,000 / 52,000 = 236.53 = 237 :) EDIT: Darn you Bunker_Boy :P Funny we calculated it in almost the exact same way.

Hey I'm with you :P I'd never be able to do that

Rofl yeah I don't think I'll bother :P Thank youuu Thanks a lot!! It's definitely exciting! Thanks  From 74 - 88, I thiiiiiiiink about 10 million or so. Around there. That's just a guess though, I haven't really been keeping track. I started out buying like 23 million worth of bars, I eventually bought like 20k pure essence, today I ran out of bars and put all my bolts up in the GE for ~11 million so you can kind of do the math from that :P

Read, read, read!!! When submitting a victory!
Bumping this up since the last one or two threads that I have tallied points for have not included their combat levels. So please remember to do so, folks :)

QFC bbcode
Well I can understand how it would make the process more efficient. I know that if you don't already have the forum window up, it can be a pain to navigate to it. But maybe that's just for us lazy people :P (us referring to me). But on the other hand, I do think that our current system works just fine. People are usually very cautious about clicking links, and for a very good reason. I don't want people to feel too secure about clicking links, if that makes sense. They could end up making a bad mistake. Like compfreak said, by just using the quick find code, people know for certain where they're going because they're forced to open the page and input the code themselves. If we implemented this, I have a feeling that the forum scam links would return :( I hope that makes sense.. I'm having a little trouble with coherency at the moment, due to a lack of sleep :P

QFC bbcode
Let me get this clear: so you're suggesting that we implement the above BBCode which would take in a quick find code and turn it into a link to the thread in question?

Greasemonkey script
I would highly recommend PMing an admin - maybe Pure_MageUK - before proceeding with this :P Just because we may not have an official policy doesn't mean they won't mind if you do follow through with this :P

Greasemonkey script
Yeah if it has a negative impact on the server load, you'd probably be asked to stop :P Since I don't think it's ever been done before, I don't think we officially have a policy. But if we openly allowed it, I'm sure more people would want to do it which, as you said, would result in a negative impact on the server load. So I'd advise against it :P

I know, I'm surprised that he got it so quickly too. That's a lot of money :P Good luck with level 68 and thank you for your support! Finally, I'll be getting faster xp!!! These last two levels have been pretty brutal. Haha thank you!!! -------------------------- FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys have no idea how psyched I am to get this level! Fast xp here I come :D I need 7 hammers for level 89. I'll try to get all of those tonight, but I don't think I will. I still have a bit of homework to do first. EDIT: Yeah I'm probably not going to have a chance to play SC at all tonight actually  I thought it was much earlier than 9:00 PM. I'll probably do homework and then go to bed, I'm exhausted.

Complaint: Inconsistency of policies
It's really nothing serious, just a few comments sprinkled through the thread - I was simply using it as a 'worse then' example ;) Okay well does my point make sense then? Do you still feel like there are inconsistencies that need to be fixed? Personally, consistency is really one of the most important things to me as a staff member (and a user), and it always has been. So if you think there's still a problem, I would like to try to fix it :P As I'm sure you could guess, there will always be slight variations since we have more than one moderator and therefore more than one mind making judgments. We will all interpret things a little differently at times, but ideally, we will think and function as similarly as possible ;)
-
Complaint: Inconsistency of policies
I'd say that most of the time inconsistencies occur because the moderators aren't aware of other threads that contain flaming. If posts never get reported, there is a chance that moderators will never find them. We don't have radars that automatically pick up on flame wars ;) Yes, we do sometimes find inappropriate posts or threads on our own, but reporting always helps us find rule-breaking posts more quickly. Now the first thread that you referred to was a misinterpretation of the rules but luckily the moderator has corrected his mistake so there is no harm done. And I'm going to check out your second thread now :P

Fastest way to get to Level 85 smithing
It took me like two days to get from 81 - 85 smithing using SC Hammers and making adamant bolts. It really doesn't take that long to get hammers, Unknwnwrrior. I easily get 23-25 points per game, sometimes with 5 minutes left over. That's 72 points/3.6 hammers per hour. You need about sixteen hammers which would require 320 points / 14 games / 4 1/2 hours of work. That's the most cost and time efficient method to go about it, in my opinion. If you have money to burn then super heating gold is probably faster though.

NEW RUNESCAPE PODCAST
You have already created one thread like this that was locked. Should you create a third one, additional action will be taken.

:: tripsis :: 99 Woodcutting!
Aww I love it :P ------------------- Finally  I really struggled to get this tonight. But on the bright side, I have enough hammers for 88! I'll get that tomorrow. I'm off to bed. I'm going to be a zombie tomorrow morning.

Tip.It Times: 8 Feb 2009 "Penguin Bannings' Addressed"
So if you knew that there was fuss, you knew that there was a glitch, and rather than go to a forum where you could have easily found information, you decided to try it out for yourself. I did not "change your wording," I simply misinterpreted your post. I don't necessarily think that people with old accounts should receive special attention. Like I said before, Jagex has thousands of accounts to review and they can't spend months examining each and every account in depth. I do, however, think that they need a much better appeal system and should more thoroughly examine accounts when a user sends in a ban appeal. But that's a whole different matter. ------------------------------------ Now your ban may not have been deserved, but that is no reason to bash Jagex, accuse them of brainwashing, say that they basically suck at banning people, that they're embarrassed, etc. Yes, maybe they did make a mistake on YOUR ban, but that doesn't mean that everybody who got banned didn't deserve it. To me it just seems like you're mad at them for screwing up on you. That doesn't mean that they're a terrible team who doesn't know what they're doing because from what we can conclude, you are in the minority here. It seems like at this point, only a handful of people have been banned when they shouldn't have been. When you're dealing with hundreds of bug abusers, you're bound to make a few mistakes here and there.

Tip.It Times: 8 Feb 2009 "Penguin Bannings' Addressed"
Account age has nothing to do with whether or not that person is capable of violating the rules. I have seen proof of that on Tip.it. In fact, some of the biggest rule-breakers that I've seen have also had some of the oldest accounts. And even if you did not get any xp from the penguins, abusing the glitch was still your intention if you clicked multiple times.

Tip.It Times: 8 Feb 2009 "Penguin Bannings' Addressed"
Jagex has absolutely no reason to be embarrassed. No, they cannot always tell who successfully abused and who didn't. Yes, they do make mistakes. Is that their fault? Is it something to be ashamed of? Not really.. They only have so much evidence to work with and I'm sure they try as hard as possible to make sure that someone really did abuse a glitch before taking action against their account. Mistakes do happen and a lot of them are corrected. You can't expect them to be perfect all the time when they have millions of users to deal with and sort through.

99 prayer :)
Thank you compfreak. Please discontinue lashing out at sliferking1. Whether he has 100m or not is not the purpose of this thread and therefore is none of our business.

:: tripsis :: 99 Woodcutting!
Thanks, I might consider trying them out. I think bolts are where it's at now though :P I actually do expect to run out of money at around 90 smithing or so. But I do have a break from school coming up so I can easily make the 25m or so necessary to continue on to 99. Thanks for your support :) -------------------------------- Currently sitting at 150/240 SC points.

have you made money and not realised?
I'm sorry but a lot of us just cannot understand your post, mostly due to the lack of periods, I think. If you want to create a new topic, you're welcome to do so, but please try your best to make it easy to read and understand. From what I can understand, this does sound like it might be better suited in Questionnaires anyway? Please don't spam.
