Then tripsis rides in on a high horse with a sandblaster between her legs and tosses a bucket of bull on me. I won't reply to your other post since Kimberly already did a great job and I don't have much to add.. but I will reply to this. You even admit that you are obnoxious and you also treat us with incredible disrespect every day of the week. Then you complain when that frustrates me and I speak harshly? Now in what world is that fair?

All action taken against users is private. The user in question may share it. Ask Goon. He can tell you.

Just because you dislike or don't agree with something or because you have a problem with authority and rules doesn't mean it's bullshit. The runarounds and the dead ends, and the "stop asking questions" reminiscent of totalitarian regimes makes it bullshit. We never said "stop asking questions" and no one here is even asking why a certain rule is in place or suggesting alternatives. Here's how it works around here: You break the rules. We enforce the rules. You kick, scream, whine, moan. We explain why we have the rule. You cry about how it's unfair and scream "bullshit". You're not being constructive. You're not making legitimate suggestions to change the rules. You're not asking questions about our reasoning. You're just sitting there saying our rules are stupid and moan when you get caught breaking them.

But honestly, deleting a post asking about a friend being muted is incredibly ridiculous. As an ex-mod you should also know that what happens between a moderator and a user is private. I'm sure you remember that. And even though you don't agree with it (and there might be a lot of individual moderators who don't like it either) we do it because 9/10 it's irrelevant to discussion and diverts the topic, like it is now. But I'm sure you remember that, too, since you were a moderator for so long. I'm sure you guys are able to contact him via AIM or MSN or IRC if you need to, since he's your friend. I'm just doing what I have to do, and complaining to me isn't going to change policy. :/ Make a topic in Website Discussion, that might actually get more motion behind it if the userbase expresses a group desire for it. But honestly, deleting a post asking about a friend being muted is incredibly ridiculous. Whenever someone is banned they always get an e-mail explaining why and detailing how long it lasts. There's no need for other people to post on a banned user's behalf (against the rules) to ask when the ban expires. Unless of course he didn't get it because he picked all the options to not get e-mails from TIF. Those settings should only apply to mass mailing lists and notifications.. not e-mails individually sent to a user. But if he truly did not get the e-mail, under those circumstances it would be permissible for you to PM an admin and say "Goon did not get an e-mail with information about his ban. If you could try sending it again that would be great."

My post was just asking why Goon was banned in the first place. It's something we have a right to know, as his friends. EDIT: A right to ask, at least. Seany's post was asking on behalf of Goon. And Kimberly answered your next question very well. As an ex-mod you should know that we never give out information relating to why a user was warned or banned. If that user wants to give out the information themselves, that's perfectly fine. But you have to ask the user - not us. Some people don't want the information made public and we respect that, so we leave it up to the user to decide whether or not to tell the world (or their friends).

He means in a greater sense - not each individual relationship. i.e. maybe a few years down the road you'll get tired of all the one night stands. Maybe they won't make you happy any more.

It's not the community's fault but if people say "I don't like this article," all it tells the authors is not to write about that particular topic again. Honestly it kind of is. We write more articles than there are game updates. It is quite difficult to come up with two interesting and unique topics every single week :/ People join the EP to write articles so obviously we do publish articles written by the EP. And as I said before, we usually only receive MAYBE 1 guest article per month, which we almost always publish. I'm honestly not sure what the problem is here D: Why is it bad that we publish the EP's articles when they're the ones who volunteer to write? We're not leaving anyone out. We do D:

I figured 5 years was a safe number lol It seems like according to you, the entire relationship is a honeymoon phase. You're the one relying on scientific evidence and all the articles I've seen says the honeymoon phase lasts between 12 and 18 months. So I'm not in the honeymoon phase.. John isn't in the honeymoon phase.. and yet you still don't want to argue with us. It's a little silly that you're quoting scientific evidence for your entire argument but then making up random numbers for the honeymoon phase so you can further support your argument and claim that John and I are still in the honeymoon phase and thus our experiences don't count.

The authors do try to spice things up and come up with new ideas. But they're not mind readers. Sometimes they may think they have written an interesting and unique article, only to have it poorly received. It's not like they're not trying.
