I'm in a christian country. I see Christians drinking, smoking, having pre-marital sex, selling drugs, killing people, and so on. I've heard Christians say that we should just nuke the middle east and be done with it. If we nuked the middle east, where would we get our oil from? Better yet we should send in a million more troops, massacre every Iraqi, and then steal all of their oil. Wow. Anyways, to answer Jaekerdoods question is God selfish? I could give the hallmark-esque answer "God is wise" but you also have to remember the prhase which applies to relgious people and Atheists. Good things happen to bad people; bad things happen to good people. Thats basically it. And yea Jaekerdood, I have a couple mental disorders which require medication, along with diagnosed ADHD. My mom refuses to let me get medicine, and I'm not about to spend 80$ on my own. And to the comment about those [developmentally delayed]ed Christians who want to nuke the Middle East. There are [developmentally delayed]s in every sect; cult; religion; government, and country. Just because there are a hugemajority of [developmentally delayed]s in Christianity, does not mean all are. And I compeltely agree with whomever made the comment about Hypocrites in Christianity (pre-marital sex etc.) thats why I hate the Christian Church. All the Christians I've ever met were self-righteous douchebags. And all the Atheists I've ever met were open, kind, caring people. I posed this question to my mom, and she said "well everyone has problems." I replied "so why do they act like they don't have any" -Christians = They. But for some reason, I just know God exists. Everywhere I see him; in Psych class we were going over how the brain works etc. It's simply fascinating, and I don't see how this could come from Evolution.

We have Science which explains much of the natural world around us. Then we have the Bible which just an old book, seriously the fan club has gone to far. Calling a religion a fan club, and then implying that Science is the end all to any argument; (no, you did not say that exactly.) is kind of an odd comparison. You need to remember that nothing in Science is set in stone, it constantly changes as we have seen in History. Who knows, one day someone God will be proved by Science. That's exactly what He did. He created everything in such a way that we can attempt to explain it using the reasoning power that He gave us. He did this because it allows us to choose Him. I agree that it's pointless to answer a scientific question by saying "God did it." But that doesn't mean the scientific method can't lead us to the conclusion that God did it. The scientific method can not lead to a conclusion for which there is no evidence. You said it yourself that everything is created in such a way that god is not required, and that means he can be ruled out. If you believe in a god, then it's completely on faith (which I'm sure is a virtue in your eyes - it's not in mine). Faith - that is, belief without, and perhaps in spite of, evidence - has no place in science. Lat is right. Though I believe in God, you cannot scientifically prove him. That is a fact. DOES THAT MEANS HE DOESN'T EXIST is what we must now ask ourselves. Simply because Science cannot explain something... Does that automatically rule it out? Some would say yes; some would say no.

The education system in the UK is far superior to that in the US. As seen in this thread, and indeed the rest of the forums. Yes, because forming an opinion about the intelligence of an entire nation is best done with a handful of kids trolling around on the internet. lol'd. The American schooling system is far far superior than UK's. Do the students take advantage of that? Probably not.

My sister is doing film (I forget what part) and what she said (thought this is probably common sense) pay the extra money and go to a private school. She went to a public univ. And they had a [cabbage] program. Then she went to this Christian private college and it has an amazing film program. So ye. Hah. Me too. And yea Manson is pretty ugly. There are tons of different measurements of "better off" but most Western European countries' citizens are better off than the corresponding US citizen. Better, cheaper health care (socialized), higher average wages, ect... The Human Development Index is a good overall country comparison, and the US only ranks 13th. EDIT: Ironic you talk about indoctrination and think that the US is the best country in the world. And since we are talking about socialized health care, you should look at who has the best health care systems in the world: WHO - the "capitalist" US health system is beaten out by 36 countries with some sort of socialized care. lol'd

Blatantly false. Of the previously estimated 46 million "people in America that are without insurance", over 17 million make over $50,000 a year, an estimated 3 million are young risk takers, and 12-15 million are eligible for Medicaid. Take into account illegal immigrants in the statistic and the number falls down to something like 10 million, often less by some estimates. Were essentially spending 1 trillion dollars to make people who dont want insurance get it and shift a bit of the wealth to a couple million that people that aren't even allowed to be denied at a hospital if they're in need anyways. This. Is. Ducked. Up. Not to be a jerk but I think you're five years too early for political debate rocco. Not that my points are infallible (the above numbers are rough), it's just that you're talking a lot more emotion and personal opinion than actual argument based on world events. My mom's pay check is only 25% of her actual pay when she finally receives it. And there are tons of other people who get screwed over like that too. And it's not a Robin Hood concept.
