yes, i'm talking about 4 seperate keys. Jagex have tried throwing in a GCD in identifying herbs for instance. You can still identify 10+ herbs per game tick with legal mousekeys in a similar sense as hotkeys would work. There was SLIGHT improvement though, ruling out only those without gaming computer gear (that you really need for competitive real-time gaming). hitting many keys on your keyboard would let you perform even more actions per game tick. Of course it would speed up actions, it's a much quicker and more efficient system. If it was handled properly it wouldn't constitute much of an advantage, though it would greatly reduce repetitiveness. try pressing 4 keys next to eachother on your keyboard. now try 15. Now consider i have 15 letters appearing on my keyboard after the second test. Not much of an advantage? eat-brewing: i'd need 2 keys next to eachother for 100% successrate pressing both keys at the same time. now take weapon switching on f2p: weapon-switching while simoultaneous eating, and a style change: 3 buttons. If i cannot press 2 buttons at the same time, there is no point in hotkeys, i'm not saving any clicks. what is then the point of hotkeys? If i can press 2 buttons at the same time, the entire game is changed, and every boss, every monster needs to increase in difficulty Yeah, with a GCD you couldn't press 2 keys at the same time, and execute 2 separate actions. The point of it is to get rid of menu flipping, and reflexively clicking for things like prayer switching; and to speed up response time between actions. With a relatively low GCD, someone clicking stuff and using the function keys to switch menus would never be faster than someone using hotkeys. At the same time, the difference in speed is subtle enough that's it's not a huge advantage (further limited by the amount of hotkeys). It's mainly for comfort and convenience.

There are many problems either way though, with any number of hotkeys above 3. that's a small number you might say, but that's not really the case: I have a gaming keyboard, most people don't. I can hold down 15 keys simoultaneously and have the (for example) 15 letters then appear continuously in alphabetical order. I can set the order too. Implications: with 4 hotkeys, i can do 4 actions in the same game-click, be it drinking a potion, turning on a special attack, switching a prayer and switching an armour piece (or weapon to spec with) in the same game click (or there would have to be insane limitations, rendering the new hotkeys limited in their use). That would be an unfair advantage over anyone with a normal keyboard. All of those actions can't be performed in a single tick. This could be remedied with a GCD on hotkeys regardless. Your keyboard example is also against the rules, so I really don't understand it. Using a macro function on a mouse/keyboard with cursor positioning would get you the same result, and is doable now. EDIT: It's also possible I misunderstood you, if you're talking about pressing down 4 separate keys for 4 separate actions, then throwing a slight GCD on hotkeys solves that.

This. Difficulty shouldn't be imposed by clunky/slow controls. Edit: Full equipment switching through single hotkeys would be too much, I agree; but with a limited amount of hotkeys (say 12), being able to bind a single piece of equipment per key would be acceptable I think. A small set of hotkeys would be an asset, but would not automate every switch you'd need to perform ( for your hybriding situation at least). For instance, with 12 hotkeys, binding a superset would probably be a bad idea, as there'd be better options.

Redeem-Code
the item wont be tradable but nothing is going to stop people selling their code for more than the ticket price.. It happens all the time with blizzard items from blizzcon That really doesn't bother me at all. In addition, I could see jagex implementing silly safeguards to prevent stuff like this (purchasing stuff through your account and having the ability to send only to that character), but I don't think it'll be a serious issue.

Redeem-Code
As long as future redeemable items aren't tradeable in-game, and don't offer any kind of gameplay advantage (cosmetic items), I really don't care. Both of those scenarios seem unlikely, so eh...

The race to 120.....
50k+ is easily attainable at zmi past 90, max is above 60k. And a penance horn is not required to hit 70kish for agi, it's just a close to max rate.

12-Apr-2010 - Dungeoneering Skill!
Can you not make potions with boosted herblore? I tried to make some strong poison after downing a naturalist's potion, raised my herblore to 87, but I still couldn't make the pot. I know you can smith stuff with potion boosts (used an artisan's potion to make my gorg spear), so is this a bug or intentional?

200M in all Skills
The world will die... OT: I hope gertjaars will get it but the problem is I can't find him in the highscores so I think he changed his name. S U O M I is also a good contender with her slow 200m skills Gertjaars is in no position to max out, especially not first. Suomi and Drumgun are the two most popular choices, however I don't think Drumgun even wants to max. Suomi though has specifically mentioned how it's his goal, and despite his cash problems and refusal to merch, I think he's the most likely at the moment. There are a few other people who play a ridiculous amount of time (e.g., telmomarques), but most of them have also said they don't intend to go for 4.8b.

**New Quest - Rune Mechanics**
Averaging 80.2 deaths per trip, 100/99 rc, with a lurker. Pretty nice, I'll probably do this for awhile, before death prices plummet.

Bandos chest/tassys, worth it?
Hi, first post here in a long time, apologies if it's in the wrong place. I've been avoiding a dfs and chest/tassys for a long while, mainly because the prices have been insane (I quit around june/july and have just come back recently). I finally bought a dfs, as I really need one, but I'm still kind of reluctant on the bandos. My main concern isn't the bonuses offered, it's the current market status. I haven't been paying much attention to market prices, and would like to hear opinions on the price of bandos, will it keep rising? Is it due for a crash?

Quick abyssal whip, need questions answered
A quite quick job in MAX 7, quite atrocious looking, but that's beyond the point. I'd like to have a few questions answered, mostly about improving the whip. What I really need suggetions on is the handle design, as well as the head. Please don't make any comments about: -How the colors look bad (I spent all of 20 seconds on them), although you can suggest an alternate color scheme if you want. -The bend of the whip. I positioned it manually editing the vertices of each subdivision along the shaft, it looks artificial, I know. If I really want to continue I'll use IK, and bone structure and it will look much better. Last but not least, I'd love to have suggestions about what weapon I should actually really try to create (this whip took me 10 minutes, I would put more effort into another weapon  ).
