Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
Explain. Once you have purchased the ticket, you will have legal rights if the ticket is not delivered to you. However, the flag is not covered by such legal activities as it is a bonus on top of the ticket. Therefore legally and technically you are buying the ticket with a flag as a bonus, it is only the community that sees it as buying them both.

No, they don't. But you know what? Jagex didn't *need* to make it impossible for these people to get that flag either. They didn't *need* to put something so obviously stupidly thought out into the game at all. You're using a form of argument that basically boils down to "life sucks, so it's okay if people make it suck more". Rather spurious. This was supposed to be an event to *thank* customers, wasn't it? Since the flag and the event must be purchased together and cannot be obtained in any other way, the flag and the event are collectively $120. Any attempt to separate them is silly game-playing. Not exactly because you are not purchasing the flag. I doubt anywhere in the legal mumbo jumbo does it say you are buying a flag. You are not guaranteed the flag, yet you are guaranteed the ticket, which makes them totally separate. I feel for anybody who does buy the ticket for the flag and would consider suggesting counselling for them, as it is such an insignificant thing which does not merit spending such money on for any sane person. I would like to say that yes, Jagex have probably handled this badly with the codes being e-mailed and not account restricted, however, we have to remember this is the first event they have hosted. They are also not an events company, they are a gaming company, filled with people who are probably very much like me and you. Things do get overlooked and mistakes are sometimes made when a task of this scale is undertaken, and you can be sure things will change for next time. What i do not think is a bad idea however is the item itself as just like holiday items, those who go to the event can get a bonus. Simple as that.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
It is a bit off topic, but that paragraph almost read my mind and is something I can't help but think about Runescape. Take for example the recent Dungeoneering skill. Runescape could benefit hugely from allowing those items outside of the dungeons, and give massive choice to everybody on what items they use without one being the best. However, it would never change because the stick Jagex would get would be so high. The game will rarely be drastically changed from the old ways.

Mod Mark H reveal RuneFest item 2010
I would agree if for example they gave away an item that had any value or worth whatsoever, even a weapon with minimal stats. But as it stands they are giving away an item which should have 0 effect on the game for other players. People can say it isn't about the item at all, but it is as the situation would chance dramatically if it was a different item. At the moment it is such an insignificant item in the game that I think me and many people find it absurd people are willing to complain and get flustered by it. If it was useful in any way whatsoever I think many would think different. The Jagex stance has always been that people will not get an ingame advantage by their level of wealth outside the game and that ha not been changed as people will gain nothing at all with this item. Oh and can we please keep the topic on topic from now on please, lets not get personal in here.

Thank you for clearing that up for us all. Now, can you direct me to instructions for getting the item without paying any money? At this point, I'd even settle for a micropayment. Take your time. Buy a ticket to Runefest, go to Runefest, have a great time. You will get an item free on top of that.

Corporeal Beast - Damage Reductions?
Is there proof that it does? To me it sounds much like the slayer dart myth which was, after a lot of proof proven to be nothing but a myth.

I disagree, it is the community and people such as yourself which seem to have almost a vendetta against them who have turned this into a negative light. I can almost guarantee that without 3-4 people, nobody would care less. The majority opinion does seem to be that it is just a silly little flag, it's nothing to care about, and you are making a massive fuss over absolutely nothing. To sum up the arguments here. It is a flag. It does absolutely nothing. I will agree that some people are sad enough to pay the ticket price and not go just for the flag. But that is their loss. They will miss out of a fun day out. They are stupid enough to do so. Not buying it will not negatively effect any other accounts in any way. The only harm is the idiot players who buy tickets for the flag and don't attend, and i can also guarentee that they will be the minority.

Seems like it. :???: Ugh, I thought Runescape was supposed to NOT be like other MMO's... Farewell uniqueness, you lasted 10 years, no longer. Yes, because the other hundred times Runescape has apparently become like every other MMO it hasn't counted a month after when everybody has had time to think and forget. People around here really do make mountains out of mole hills.

That explains why they dont use them in war of legends... ..oh wait. I think the best way to go about this is if Jagex open a shop where its possible to buy fun, cosmetic items for rl cash and give out the "supposedly seen" RuneFest Banner item to everyone to show they were around when Jagex had their first big convention. For all any of us know, the banner might not even be a player item. Jagex could be making a little RuneFest stall ingame with the "supposedly seen" runefest banner beside it, and a guy talking about runefest. Jagex don't use them in War of legends. It was developed and is run by another company, Jagex only publishes it. I really do not see why so many people are so worked up. There will be more Runefests in the future, you will probably have numerous chances to get another item, you may not want them, but whatever happens, it will be cosmetic so what is the harm?

If you still have enough in stock I may buy some in about a month or so when I have money. The viking and hippy one look great.

The Legend of Zelda Thread
Yeah i got that sometimes on majora's mask. I remember doing the goron/snow temple, completing it, doing everything else then forgetting one detail and having to re-do the whole thing again the next cycle. And that wasn't a fun temple.

The Legend of Zelda Thread
I have played two zelda games outside of the N64, but i was young and cannot remember the titles of them. One link woke up on a beach and near the beginnning you had to throw dust into a raccoon's eyes. The other I remember had a part which changed the whole map around.

24-Apr-2010 - Jagex Presents... RuneFest 2010
The big problem now is that the prices cannot really be lowered as people who already have tickets would complain. I think i will have to wait until Runefest 2011 to go.

The Legend of Zelda Thread
I recently completed Ocarina of time and Majora's mask. Had completed ocarina before, but was the first time playing Mask. Was odd, but very fun. Very different to ocarina. The music when wandering the field was just so much more nostalgic though.

Upcoming forum changes!
The problems are though, that it gets a fairly low amount of traffic, and to be honest, the 'debates' in there are not much better than your average General discussion topic now as the maturity level there has greatly increased over the years.

29-Apr-2010 Developer Blog: Voice Overs - Look Who's Talking
I think it would be great to hear more voices around runescape, but I know just how much of a herculean task it would be. Also, as they said, adding accents to different NPC's could really aid the immersion felt during the game. Arabic accents for Kharidians, Scottish accents for dwarves (it just fits!). Could be a real step in the right direction, but i wouldn't expect anything huge for another 3 years at least, the amount of speech in the game is astronomical. Also, Vinnies jones for Zamorak made me laugh. 'That wasn't a good idea now was it' *gets struck by lightning*
