Most people only know Deep Purple because of Smoke on the Water, a lot of them probably can't name 2 other songs, yet Deep Purple has so many good songs. They had pretty big hits. Child in Time and Smoke on the Water are one of the most famous songs ever.

Yea. I don't think Deep Purple is underrated. They're very well known, highly rated. Barrett's solo work is underrated as well. Same as the first Floyd album (compared to other work).
