  1. Lots of hard work I guess. Your magic isn't high enough for superheat and your mining isn't high enough for the guild. So it's either hard work or buying ores/bars
  2. How about: Congratulations, you just advanced a dying level Your dying level is now 99 Click here to discontinue
  3. My first was on the way from Lumbridge to Draynor. Being a lvl 12 I should have taken a safe route along the coast and then up. But stupid me saw a red dot near the jail. It turned out to be a load of gp, runes , some armour and weapons. Frantically clicking I started to pick them up. Then a jail guard came by and my mouse had still a buffer full of clicks so i couldnt run away in time. Flash. Bang ..... back in Lumbridge with 3 items left (bronze plate, legs and long sword).
  4. I could be one of those noobs ... if I didn't tele-out at the first sign of PK-ers. When i'm in the wilderness I'm there to train and collect raw materials. IMHO the only PK-er with honor is one that requests a match not one that jumps you. And don't come with arguments like " when you are in the wild, you can expected to be jumped upon" Sure .. by NPC not by PK-ers. The wilderness is ment to be a place for players to duel or teams to battle not to behave like a mental and kill everyone in sight that doens't look like a threat. People call me yellow but I think that PK-ers who jump guys like me (skillers, see below) are yellow. They dont wanna fight equals or high lvl player because they might die.
  5. IMHO the only advantage of being a mod is that auto's tend to log off when a crown is visible. So just to P-off auto-owners I wouldnt mind being one for a week or so. In my opinion a drawback of being a mod is that one cannot just let things pass if noticed. When I see people using bad language I do not report but kindly ask them to stop it (or else ....). Most of them are kids and some dont know what they are saying. Esp. the Dutch kids (I'm Dutch) sometimes use bad language (in English) without knowing the exact meaning. Some words (again in English) aren't considered too bad compared to the Dutch equivilant. I do think however that, since there are so many non-English playing the game, Jagex should extend the filter for bad language in other languages than English. I have seen people using Dutch words they would get smacked for by their parents if used in RL. Also saw a couple of 'funny' user names that could be considered 'illegal' (Once saw one that, if translated, would read: doyouneedtotakeash** - yes it was written as one word). I thought is was funny though some people might find it offending. So being a pmod isn't my kind of thing. I'm too gentle I think. [EDIT]  Just noticed my text had the word cabbage in it. (Nice filter - better than the *** in RS). So I changed the "it" for ** to make sure the message comes across[/EDIT]
  6. I do have a second bluerite sword. The main reason for 'taking' it was trying the tip on how to get it. The main reason for keeping it? Simple .. I have two sons both playing RS. If one of them cant finish the quest for whatever reason, I can help by giving the sword. Does this make me a noob?
  7. I still consider myself to be a newb or newby. I joint about half a year ago. As far as I can see noob (or n00b) is mainly being used as an insult or to provoke a verbal or physical reaction. Ive been called noob a lot of times for correcting other peoples behaviour (like mining someone elses coal in the mining guild: "coal for one and mith for all" is my motto). Sometimes it is used to provoke you to go into the wilderness to teach that person a lesson. In most cases you'll then be welcomed by a PK team and either get slaughtered or have to start running. I personally never call anyone a noob and dont care if im called one. I usally reply with: "and proud to be". I consider it to be an honorary nickname
  8. Question #1: What is your favorite quest? Romeo & Julliet: The best story line and darn funny Question #2: What do you think is the hardest skill to train? rune crafting/crafting: if you want sufficient lvls and dont want to buy raws it takes ages Question #3: What do you think is the easiest skill to train? Fire making Question #4: What is your favorite skill? Prayer And IMHO ranged is the most expensive if you're F2P. You lose to much arrows and if you use high lvl ones (addy for me) it costs a fortune to lvl up
  9. Trying to make most of the stuff myself (increasing skill lvls) but if you want something you cant make (like a rune outfit) you'll just have to buy. I do however make money by high alching the stuff i make so in a way i - indirectly - make the stuff i buy. Im not a merchant nor an employer so i dare say im self sufficient
  10. I wouldnt mind more bank space and to have access to the treasure trails, but what im craving for is a way to change my default cloth. The makeover mage can only change gender and skin colour and the barber my hair. Im stuck with the cloth i chose when I started. Im looking like a tramp but aint anymore
  11. [Dutch]Hartelijk Welkom Vlammetje[\Dutch] There are loads of older players and indeed a lot of them are dutch (like me). 42 yo and farther of two RS playing sons (8 and almost 11yo).
  12. Arghhh. Auotminers from MARS. Run. Run. RUNNNNNN
  13. smelting and crafting silver (tiaras). and running back and forth between the bank and the furnace. only 400 of the inital load of 1 k to go (and then another 5k to mine)
  14. Question: Is there a difference in playing style between the age groups? I myself (almost 42) dont go Pk-ing. I tend to set myself a target (current one in lvl 70 crafting) and more or less stick to what im doing (still need 5K silver to get to lvl 70) after every 1K i 'treat' myself with some wizard killing (until i have about 100 nats) and then go mining, smelting and crafting again
  15. I'm almost 42. My son (11 years) got me hooked. Ive been playing since august last year (when i have the time) but im only lvl 66. But being 74 mining, 63 smitting and 64 crafting im very able to earn him (my son) some money. Have been playing computer games since Trek came out. I like the game and most likely will become a member soon.
  16. Sorry dont now about Ahrim's robes. I'm no member. Being bold myself, I wouldn't mind a hood once in a while. A freezing wind on your skin isn't always pleasant. Still would like to be able to dye the stuff. Shame that not possibe
  17. Ive been playing RS for 2 month now and what im missing is the abbility to dye other clothes than capes. E.g. I'd realy like to walk around in orange monks robes (pretending to be a bhudist monk). Other clothing issues i have are: 1. Instead of a dark wizzard hat i'd like to have a dark wizzard hood (like the dark wizzards themselves). 2. Im missing a hood matching the monks robes. Would be a nice extra. That my two cents worth.
