  1. Also so by leaving out such big clues of the storyline you get the idea that they leave it out for a reason, to make a sequel or something. I even thought that was the plan a few pages ago, seeing the book they were planning to release makes me think that this is a standalone quest with no sequel (the "see you soon" is probably just referring to the repeatability). I hope they include the book in the future, for other players who will do the quest.
  2. Ah :P it is just that I don't like bonus XP weekends, but when they make them for ironmans I have that feeling that I need to make use of them ;)
  3. ^Yes I do :) although now I wonder why you asked
  4. No, Jagex sometimes doesn't learn... Also I hope Ironman never has bonus XP weekends, though I must say for selfish reasons :P
  5. Yes because real work means work that requires 100% concentration. Sorry, but your definition of "real work" seems to be very subjective. You cannot decide what is "real" for others.
  6. I have to say that I don't agree on your statement of that the lore book was kinda the worst thing to cut. I am a lorehound myself and trust me when I say that I really, really would have loved to seen that lore book in game. Especially as I myself was more or less stuck at the part of the quest where you have just discovered the most southern, long corridor in the basement. I easily found my way to the room with the coffins. There though, as there was nothing to discover, I more or less gave up on exploring the whole basement and instead started searching through the whole mansion again. This as I was so sure at if there was something new to discover in the basement it would have to be in the empty coffin room and not the corridor leading to it. As for why I do think Jagex did the right choice on cutting the book though: Pure text can easily be spread in other mediums. Game graphics, atmosphere and pretty much all other quest-attributes can only be experienced in-game. Certainly there's an irritation caused by plot-holes. But Jagex knows that those of us players that are really interested in the lore and storyline of the game usually search for information not only in the game itself. Therefore; In a choice of cutting something out, Jagex, or rather Mod Ollie, cut out the lorebook. Which he knew he could make public by putting it up on the forums. In a thread which takes like what, 3 clicks to reach from the main page? I understand where you are coming from and I certainly agree that the book should be in game. But I believe Jagex did the right choice when they chose to cut the lorebook out. Although it isn't far away many people will never know where the lore is, because you don't expect it to be there but in the game. Also the thread isn't a sticky which means that when you play it later, even maybe in a week or two the thread won't be findable. Also I agree with Sy, the book answers most of the questions and I would have had a harder time deciding which ending I should have chosen (not that it matters much).
  7. ^I am guessing we are going to get a sequel... eventually. But indeed it seems rather sloppy done.
  8. Not amused by the fact that I needed to put the graphics on minimum - fixed in order to not die because by the time I could run I was already dead...
  9. The crewbie leader Stev does a lot of things with calculators, but my guess is that he has a lot of more urgent things to do as a crew leader :| Sorry. Also I am pretty sure this is possible, but since I don't write in that kind of code I am not sure how time-intensive it is.
  10. My guess would be master farmers (after mtk, which might be to expensive for us ironmans), you can see the rough rates here: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Master_Farmer
  11. FunOrb is basically dead, though it would be a bummer for the people still playing games on FunOrb to shut it down. Although they could shut down games that no-one plays anymore (for many of them you need multiple players).
  12. if zamorak couldn't win against saradomin, the second largest ballsack after zaros in terms of shit recklessly destroyed by his interference, he's not going to beat the most popular god in rs since guthix died Didn't they say Zaros was going to be exclusively quest content anyway since he is integral to the 6th age plot arc. Plus don't it is not true to say the gods allied against Zaros, or that their motivation was him being evil. Whilst Zaros' Empire was going strong they were all kind flailing around on the fringes just hoping to keep their own territories it was AFTER Zaros 'died' that they teamed up to drive out and crush the remaining strong Zarosians before immediately turning on each other again and descending into the God Wars. Their motivation would seemingly be pure and simple assuring their own survival - Zaros was a threat because of his strong followers. Without leadership they were vulnerable and those who couldn't be swayed to join other sides were better killed or locked away no matter what the specific end goal of each god. That makes a lot of sense :) Thanks
  13. I doubt it, as the rough translation you gave in the first post only says something about accounts having paid something, so I think it only applies for current members? (Also Jagex isn't known for giving away free membership to non-members except for a trial)
  14. whyIt isnt funny if i have to explain it Just PM him ;)
  15. ^Well yeah, but probably there are multiple kinds of people that play ironman. So the people who don't like lots of free XP might be different people than the ones that want bonus XP weekends. You will mostly only hear the people that disagree with the current/future situation, and not the ones that are happy with it. Edit: Also Ironman seems to be misunderstood a lot (or at least at the official runescape forums), by people who just want a harder mode instead of doing everything yourself. Though I personally dislike getting a lot of free XP by doing nothing (already not liking how fast I level up by questing, and that is only a tiny bit), I don't think it fits into the Ironman description to let those things out. But it may be (as I am myself) that most Ironman players also dislike getting lots of XP free, for which it would make sense to let those things out.
  16. Ah thanks :) If Ironman are able to benefit from future events it might help construction a lot... So maybe saving money for construction on an Ironman might be the best way to level it :P
  17. That's another good point - is Spanish really more dead than the others? Maybe they feel that the Spanish users will just filter into the Portuguese servers (due to the similarities between the languages) like they were before. Really, Spanish and Portuguese are very far away from each other. :s As a frequent visitor of both Spain and Portugal I can say most don't understand each other. Portuguese sounds more like Polish actually. XD I know, there are quite a few differences. I still catch some words through my limited Spanish vocabulary though :P. I guess that is like saying Dutch and English are alike, I am sure you can catch Dutch words that look like English, but you won't be able to understand most if it if you play in a Dutch world
  18. Personally I don't like XP-weekends at all. If only for the people that are not able to play that weekend. But also for the feeling that you just have to make use of it. But yeah I agree that I don't see a valid reason why just ironman should not be able to participate, I feel sorry for the ironman people who like the bonus XP weekends. @chaosoffar, what are those weekend facts? where can I find them? :)
  19. That feeling when you finally get a water talisman from killing skeletons... finally... lol Edit: I am also wondering if Ironmans will get bonus XP in the upcoming bonus XP weekends, I hope not... Though otherwise I will just train woodcutting and firemaking as I don't really like those and I get no resources from them anyway (because I burn the logs ;) )

I don't really want to hijack this thread, but why are dust devils on both of your block lists? I always find them rather easy and fun to do. Also I personally wouldn't put hellhounds on my block list because of the clue scroll drops, but I understand why you would block them :)
  21. This is why I hope they won't do the dutch servers... I am dutch myself but I wouldn't play it, it just would look silly (I guess the same as the game in german would look), most of the dutch are able to comprehend english, many of them speak it quite well.
  22. @Steph, ah that makes sense, though I wonder how much a difference it makes. @Wkw, But why trade in 10 fish to get more fish? Maybe it is because I haven't trained divination yet, but wouldn't it make more sense to just fish them the normal way? It doesn't make sense to me to use 10 fish in order to get 18 more fish (28-10), especially since fishing is pretty afk-able.
  23. So making divine locations in divination is not really usefull for ironmans, except maybe for herb and hunter...
  24. Please not the death one... Please... I would like to see the clue scroll one, altough I play to less to compete in any of these.
  25. Speaking of god. I hope there never comes a world event between Zamorack and Zaros (which would make sense to have), because Zaros would lose in no time because lots of people know about Zamorack, but not about Zaros. Also what I don't seem to get from the Lore in Runescape was that all kind of gods where combining their strengths against Zaros, but Zaros doesn't seem to be evil, he just had a lot of power back in the day (not sure about now). He just had evil followers of which most of them are now Zamorack followers (demons for example)
