Will y'all quit calling him an idiot!!! There are a lot of other addictions that can seriously harm you but are overlooked because they only harm you mentally. (like sex, profanity, (word I can't say here due to censors...), porn, etc.) Oh, and btw, it is NOT proven that cigarette smoking causes cancer OR kills you. It may shave off a few years, but that's not the reason to stop. You should stop because it's vulgar... Alright. There is no good way to quit. You just have to try very hard and have really good support. :) Oh, and to clear this up, you CAN be addicted to profanity. Try to stop saying profane words, and you will see what I mean. You're right. I smoked about a pack a day for a year then quit cold turkey. Since then, the only time I think about wanting one is if I smell somebody smoking, and even then its not too bad. Obviously the first weeks going to suck, but from personal experience and from what I've seen with friends, quitting all at once, relying on nothing but your willpower, is the most effective way to permanetly overcome an addiction. Was it hard? Bare in mind that for some people it is RIDICULOUSLY hard. I am trying to overcome an addiction right now that I have been trying to quit since the moment it started!!! Willpower is sometimes weak. Prayer is the most effective way to overcome an addiction, but even then you still need willpower. Oh, and btw, Archer003, you did spell spontaniously correctly. :)

Well, of course you don't. You live in England. I live in the US. Bullying is accepted here. They discouraging it, but they don't do a damn thing about it. I'm moving from my country for many reasons. That would be one of them.

It's harder than you think, but stepping down never works. You either stop completely or you don't stop at all. I know how hard it is to be addicted to something and try to stop. The best way to stop is to never start, but in your case you just have to quit. Don't buy any more cigarettes, and get rid of the ones you currently have. Let your wife (no offense if you don't have one) have control of the money for a little while. It WILL hurt, but it will be worth it. :)

Well, you should try to spell correctly. I know you can. :) As for me, I just don't see how a logic test makes you smart. I don't see how an IQ test makes you smart. I will never take an IQ test. I'm considered a genius, but I doubt I am.

Was this about the rules? I'm talking about real life here, buddy. I know this is technically real life, but no one considers it that anymore. Why is flaming allowed outside of the internet? It happens at schools, in the workplace, and anywhere else that you can think of. I'm starting to wish that life was more like this forum.

Why flame? I mean... I know that half of these clan leaders can't spell worth a flip and that half of the people on this forum have no lives and/or are complete idiots, but why flame? Is there some thrill that I have failed to find? I tried it once. I hated it. What's the point? The moderators are going to delete it anyways. But the biggest question of all is: Why are we only not allowed to flame on internet forums? Everywhere else it's allowed.

Wow, there's a well thought out argument if ever I saw one. Lol, he's not required to post anything in his defence. The aspects of this are pure and simple. Abortion is wrong. Don't try to overcomplicate things. Now here's where this may get confusing. I believe that abortion, but as a US citizen I doubt it will ever be illegal. So, if I were try to pass a bill against it, I would make it illegal except for extenuating circumstances (such as rape and incest). I believe it's wrong, but the idiots of my society aren't going to change. My country has no morals whatsoever, so I doubt even THAT is going to fly. The only thing I can do is discourage abortion. And... Don't tell this isn't a question of morals! EVERYTHING is a question of morals! Sorry I couldn't quote you directly. Um, sorry to dissapoint you, but that's just a large amount of bs. Here's the answer. No one is good. Not doing good is wrong just as doing bad is wrong, alright? We understand each other so far? Ok, if the action wrong, regardless of the outcome, it is wrong. I hope that helped. I just shattered your thesis. I'm sorry you feel that way, but that's normal. Ethics is a confusing thing. There is one right way out there, but I can't give you a strict definition. Just do what you believe to be right, and everything that you think may be a bit overboard (if it is positive). Also, stay away from things that you think are wrong and things that you are unsure about. People that waste their lives trying to right a code of ethics find that as times change people are too stupid to be able to apply things that look so old-fashioned to modern life. So, that's all I can give you. I can understand your feeling with the loads of ethical bs out today lol.

I know this is horrible, but I don't think we should do anything about it whatsoever. (We really can't.) There are three diseases that we will never find a cure to: cancer, the common cold, and AIDS. AIDS and the common cold are viruses and therefore have no cure. We don't even know what causes cancer, so there is absolutely no way that we can find a cure unless by pure cooincidence. Well, I change my mind; cancer may be curable if we can figure what causes it. Oh, sorry... I digress. I'll try to stay on topic next time. I believe doing that would be wrong. It's stupid. I think all science is stupid. Instead of making crackpot theories about how the universe began, they should be doing something useful.

First off... Killing people won't stop AIDS In most developed countries, we can have tests that can tell us if you have an STD or not. You just don't have sex (please don't be against the rules) with anyone who has AIDS, and you should also try not to be in contact with their blood. You can't stop AIDS. It's like trying to get rid of stupid people. It's not going to happen. Just try to not get it yourself. I'm sorry, I know that sounds bad, but that's all you can do. So the answer is no, because it won't work anyways.
