  1. Simply put, thats an ignorant statement. I'm a metalhead for life, but I did however help one of my friends make some rap songs (hes an aspiring rapper) and to say theres no actual music involved, is ridiculous. The beats aren't as easy to make as you may think. It requires a lot of keyboard use, and you have to at least understand the basics of music to get anywhere with it....not to mention the rapper has to come up with fresh verses that flow well. Coming from a fan of both genres, it takes more effort to make decent rap lyrics than it does the incessent screaming thats in most popular music (metal, etc.) these days. It isn't an ignorant statement. When he refers to "talent", he's comparing the rap genre in general to probably the rock genre. And, plain and simple, when you're comparing the two, it's clear which requires more talent. Much more, in fact. To add a bit more, the number one reason most people don't like rap (i'm guessing) is the lack of actual music. A rap song consists of: talking, synthesizer, and (usually) an artificial drum beat. I don't blame people for not wanting to listen to it, and even criticising those who do. Thats simply your opinion, most popular rock that plagues the radio these days is extremely simple in function and form. Just because its been around longer doesn't make it any better...

  3. Most of the hate comes from people who understand little about it. While it is true that a lot of mainstream rap is of questionable subject matter, I still find myself enjoying some now and then, so long as the lyrics are quirky and original.
  4. Back in HS I set call of duty up on the network and teachers played against kids..during class!
  5. Vintage H.I.M ftw!
  6. I guess I was a smooth talker, I always acted clueless, haha. Believe it or not, I never even got a detention...only thing any of us really got in big trouble for was the urinal. My friend only had to pay for it. The year after we moved on to High School they installed security cameras all over the place, haha. Are you frikkin serious? I mean, they caught you for pulling the fire alarm, and they didn't do anything? Sorry, but what the hell is with your school? ~ Anyways.... I'm a law abiding citizen who doesn't care to do bad things  . Only gotten one detention in my life, and that was for leaving my classroom when the teacher didn't show for 20 minutes (with like half the class, who didn't know what to do, like me). Some guy ended up coming to the room 10 minutes later to take attendance (way to make us wait 30 minutes...) and he gave everyone who left detentions. He basically gave half the class detentions because we didn't wait for half an hour for the moron to finally show. I guess I didn't explain myself well enough. I was always in a group, and I was always able to get myself out of trouble, as for the other guys....one of them usually took the fall. Although noone ever got expelled...only 2 suspensions all year if I remember right..
  7. Death metal fans can check out my band...not sure if the link is even going to work Just type in the HORRIBLE FORBIDDEN SITE you know...--space.com Then slash like this "/" and "thevala" right after. Sorry for the long explanation but I can't type it normally. I play keyboards.
  8. I play during work almost nonstop, and get paid $8.15/hr to do it..guess I'm lucky.
  9. Norther's new EP is tops for me right now...at least in '07.
  10. OMG JOEY JORDISON IS THE BEST! SINCE HES THE ONLY PERSON THAT PLAYS DOUBLE BASS, AND ITS SO COMPLICATED, VARIED, AND HARD TO PULL OFF!
  11. For all of that, im kinda surprised you weren't expelled  I guess I was a smooth talker, I always acted clueless, haha. Believe it or not, I never even got a detention...only thing any of us really got in big trouble for was the urinal. My friend only had to pay for it. 12. Just turned 20.
  13. One of my friends pooped on the bathroom floor on purpose, got caught. We threw a rock at a urinal, shattering it...got caught. Opened gel pens and squirted the ink all over the place, got caught. Threw the cupcakes they serve(d) at lunch all over the outside of the school during recess, got caught. Put cream cheese containers on the bottom of our shoes and walked around the gym, spreading the slippery substance all over the floor, got caught. Tried to sharpen a pen in an electric pencil sharpener, got caught. Set off the fire alarm, got caught. Encircled groups of unwary people with thread from shop class, tieing them up without them knowing, got caught. Destroyed a sewing machine, got caught. Sprayed WD-40 all over the place during an assembly, got caught. Printed 100+ pages at a time and ran, DIDN'T GET CAUGHT FOR THIS ONE! Dismantled computers so the sides of the towers would fall off if touched, got caught. So yeah, I'm a bad role model, haha. This was 7 years ago..mind you.
  14. Everyone is allowed mistakes sometimes....hopefully the repairs aren't too much.
  15. Broke into a school with some friends....tore the crap out of it. It was all over the news...$60K in damage or something around there, and to our luck, the security cameras were turned off that day, lucky us. Of course, this was 7 years ago, I was a very dumb youth.
  16. Gladiator...probably the one where its him vs. like 5 guys.
  17. I think I can deny that. And I doubt that the artists don't take it very serious. A lot of them don't. The ones that do (many power metal bands come to mind) often become targets of ridicule. For example, check out The Black Dahlia Murder's (really popular local band) Myspace. I'm not a real fan of their metal, but its OBVIOUS by just browsing their page, they are there to have fun, being serious about it is one of the last things on their list...
  18. Norther Skyfire Raintime not traditional death metal, more melodic death/speed/power...but whatever, take it or leave it.
  19. Yeah true, theres no way Lars is the best drummer ever...he was never anything more than average..
  20. spiritual black dimensions
  21. #-o Should be interesting..for good or bad..
  22. Well, its quirky, to be sure. Too bad you chose a horrible song to base it on. Vocals sound good though 8-)
  23. Are you serious with that grammar? Come on, "teh" was dead over a year ago, noones going to take you seriously.. It gives me great pleasure to say: APRIL FOOLS! :D oh God, I got owned
