  1. Awww, don't be mean just because the Twins got owned.
  2. Or to play Runescape for 2 years straight. "I'm teh pwnage!111!!!1 z3Zim4 i5 5uh n00bi3!!111!!1 99 5t4t 1n 3v3ryth1ng!!111!!!" Of course, by the time you get off the island, your grammar would be so bad that no one would be able to understand you.
  3. Whoa, whoa, Asians? Affirmative Action? Are you kidding me? "Because of their high degree of success as a group, Asian Americans do not generally benefit from affirmative action policies the way other minority groups do. In fact, some schools routinely choose lower-scoring applicants from other racial groups, even European American, over Asian American, in an attempt to promote racial diversity and to maintain some proportion to the society's racial demographics. One of the highest gaps is at UC Berkeley which does not practice affirmative action. The gap between Asian American and African American is about 300 SAT points. According to a 2005 Princeton University study, if affirmative action were eliminated in college admissions, nearly four out of every five spots lost by African Americans and Hispanic Americans would be given to an Asian American." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Model_mino ... ive_action Hmmm... I wonder if I can just say I'm Hispanic? I mean, it's not like they'll make me take a DNA test...
  4. Err... What? If our solar system has a diameter above 5 light years, I'll eat me keyboard. Alpha Centauri isn't even 4 light years away! There are comets orbiting the Sun 100,000 astronomical units away. It really depends on your definition of the Solar System and whether or not you include those comets. The dwarf planet that is the farthest away would be Sedna, which is like 900 AU's from the Sun at its aphelion point. But you are right, he made an mistake. It's 14.959/9.467 , which is about 1.58 light years. If anyone complains about significant figures, I'll stab them...

    PS3

You know... You are going to have to update your graphics card every year just to be able to play some of the new games, and even then, it's not guaranteed to work.
  6. No, you are confusing me...
  7. They know how old the rock is with Carbon dating. Oh yeah, if Christians are right, all of us will have an afterlife, just not in Heaven. I don't believe in the Christian version of God. The Catholic Church screwed way too many times in the past, in my opinion, to try to claim that they are right and the only way to "salvation" is through them. I think we humans have perverted the image of God. If there is a God, then why would he let billions condemned to an eternity in Hell?
  8. Nevermind that graph. But the other is correct. Lol yeah, but I saw a recent news article (about a week ago give or take) in yahoo that says in 2006, that was the ratio. :-k Dang, then the population is growing fast. Do you have a link? http://usinfo.state.gov/xarchives/displ ... f0.2887079
  9. Oh, I'm not crazy. I was wondering why Runesmithie had all these stuff from other people's signatures.
  10. The thing is, African Americans can get access to good education. It has nothing to do with race, but with income. Most African Americans are poorer than their white peers, hence they have lower grades and worse educations. Affirmative Action leaves out other low income families because of their race. It's better to help the poor in general, not just minorities.
  11. some charity ads are actually scams so yah i hate em. too many people are obsessed with money these days :-k Charity ads on TV are never scams. Most scammers don't have that kind of resource. Most of them just spam your E-mail.
  12. Actually, if I am right. The solar system spans about twice the size (if not three times the size) of the biggest star we know of, somewhere around 1900 lightyears big. Distances within our solar system are usually measured in SAstronomical Units. 1 AU =the istance from Earth to the Sun = 149 598 000 Km. According to Amelie Saintonge, our Solar System is 100,000 AU's across, making it 14, 959, 800, 000, 000 Km across, that is 14,959 Trillion Kilometres. 1 Lightyear is (3*10^5)*60*60*24*365.25 = 9.467 Trillion Km. 14,959/9.467 = 1,580 Lighyears. so 1900 isn't a bad effort! Actually, Astronomical Units are the average distance between the Earth and the Sun. Since the Earth revolves in an elliptical unit around the Sun and the distance of the Earth from the Sun at the Aphelion point and Perihelion point are about 5.9 million kilometers apart. If the Universe did keep expanding forever, it would get colder and colder... So basicly, the Human race is pretty screwed either way; since the purpose of life is to contribute to the success of your species, there is no purpose to life. Everything we do will be undone. There is no difference whether we are alive or not. I'm going to go cry in a corner now... :(
  13. I agree with you, it should be based on family income. Race is kind of hard to test anyways. There are Seniors at my high school who are paying for $250 DNA tests to find if they are partially African American or something... But Affirmative Action doesn't bug me as much as how you can get into a college with good connections. That is just wrong. The good news it, things will probably change in a few years. Harvard and Princeton already got rid of early admissions. Harvard raised its free tuition bar from 40K to 60K. While those schools may be out of reach for most, other schools will probably follow.
  14. There are too many unknowns in the universe to be closeminded and deeming every theory true. I mean, for all we know, gravity could be fake, rocks have feelings, and the universe was created by some omniscient being who was just bored... I mean, scientist don't even know how Mercury was formed, due to the lack of evidence that it ever melted. If it never melted, then how did the separation of light and heavy matter occur? How did Mercury obtain its iron core? I'm not religious, but insulting someone and calling them nuts for their beliefs really show how closeminded you are. If the world was run by you, we would still be following the Ptolemic model of the Solar System.
  15. You were missing the point of what I said. :-s I was talking about him not caring about the friend that died cuz he was high. I was telling him no matter how somone dies it is a tragic thing and should still feel remorse. hmm, sorry if my post was off topic? Ah, so Jews will feel sad when Hitler died? Please, it's not at all appropriate to compare a teenager to a brutal dictator who caused the deaths of millions of innocent people. The guy is dead. Maybe he made a few bad decisions and got high. Maybe he was acting like an idiot. But who are you to judge him? Who are you to decide, in a instant, that his life was worthless? Who are you to decide that society is better off without him? Regardless of what he did, he was still a life, a human, one of us. Afterall, he was still someone's son , someone's brother, and someone's friend. Please, just stop the bickering about his actions and let him rest in peace. My condolences to you, your family, and your friend's family. May he rest in peace.
  16. The advertisement left your computer alone but started attacking you directly instead, I wish school didn't start tommorow.
  17. The Internet. It would be so cool to own the Internet.
  18. I can't do level 66, the apple+banana-orange puzzle, someone help me. :wall:
  19. Well actually, farenheit was around first, so celsius is more a smarted-up version of farenheit than farenheit is a dumbed-down version of celsius. Since Farenheit is actually more precise than Celsius, wouldn't Celsius be a dumbed down version of Farenheit?

    this sucks

Too bad for you, I just test out of the classes I don't like. For example, I get to take Accelerated English instead of English-10 next year.
