  1. try not to judge an item by its overall stats, Karil's is superior in some (albeit rare) circumstances.
  2. NOT true Their Ranged bonus are identical, but: 1. Black D hide only requires 40 def, though it does require dragon slayer to be completed. Black D Hide as superior Melee defence, and is a LOT cheaper than Karil (50k should get you a set very easily, 60k max) 2. Karil's requires lv 70 defence, and requires 150k per 15 hours (we are throwing the coif outta here, its junk). it has superior Mage and Range defence over Black D Hide. Depending on what you wanna use it for, take your pick. Black D hide is better if you are ranging things that are melee or pking. Karil's better for barrowing and against ranged and mage foes.
  3. Loge never said that you had to wear the whole set ;) If you want cheapness, Full Torag minus the hammers will do nicely, it costs around 2m and has stats BETTER than even full Dragon, very easy to obtain and the repair cost doesnt cost all that much either (230k per 15 hours). Just wear: Torag Helm Fury/Glory or Amulet of Strength Torag's Plate Torag's Legs Obby cape Obby shield / rune defender (the latter being superior) 1 hand melee weapon of choice. Rune/Climbing boots Berserker ring.
  4. Infinity? It is a really bad maging armor for its cost.... I am basing on the best Magic BONUS outfit Ahrim's Hood God Cape Amulet of Fury Ahrim's Robetop No arrows Master Wand (best Mage bonus, but rather junky) Mage's Book (rather junky here too) Barrow Gloves Infinity Boots Seer's Ring that gives +133 Magic Bonus
  5. Steady way of nats is good, but i find if you get your kill count up to about 10-15, then the runes it drops sells for more than your nats would make you, not to mention the barrow drops. Provided that you have decent stats, and DONT melee the brothers, DONT use Prayer pots for Ahrim, Torag and Guthan, and use the safe spots down in the tunnels like in my guide (its in my siggy), then you would be rich in no time. PS Good luck on getting g spear, it can pretty much get you a full verac's set. and the runes should be enough to get you an obby shield. Though Rune Defender is a lot better IMHO
  6. It's is not the Combat Level that determines your abililty to kill the barrows (very much like Fight Caves against TzTok-Jad, only specific skill counts), because you will NOT be meleeing any barrows unless you wear full verac's and have combat lvl of 110 or higher. Otherwise maging is the way to go. you have several choices : 1. Train your magic up to about 56, 59 to be on the safe side, complete the family crest quest and have the gauntlets you receive enchanted to Chaos Gauntlets. These increase the damage of your Bolt Spells (Wind, Water, Earth and Fire Bolt spells, the ones that uses chaos runes) by 3, so Fire Bolt would be doing 15 damage if you use these. You might use more p pots than usual, but its fine. 2. Train your Magic to AT LEAST 70, AND Slayer to 55, so you can use the Magic Dart spell. This is the optimum method. Hints: 1. NEVER EVER use magic outfit unless your prayer is 70+, otherwise its a waste of prayer. 2. ALWAYS mage Guthan and Torag in MELEE outfit with no prayer. Since you can wear barrow armor, and your defence is good, you wont take many hits from (at least hardly. Unprayered Ahrim takes more Food than Torag and Guthan combined), which means those 2 are complete pushovers, and Guthan wont heal as often because he literally cant hit you. However if you used mage outfit, guthan WILL heal through your prayer, so thats why people find guthan hard.
  7. Mentioning how the bug was performed is against the rules of this forum in short: He was kicked out of a house, and somehow he retained his ability to attack other people, even outside of the wildy. So he basically massacred everybody in falador, especially those who had p hats.

it has to be demon butler, or the best shelves if you want to make it yourself.
  9. water blast you mean? BTW, the reason why i said you need at least 70 mage for slayer dart is because the damage increases by 1 for every 10 mage level you get. Basically your slayer dart damage is your current (not base, which means potting would work) mage level, slash the last digit and add 10. So if you are lv 70 to 79, its 17 damage. at 80 - 89, its 18, and at 90-99, its 19.
  10. Chaos gaunts and Fire bolt is possibly the second best method after Slayer Dart for cheapness. Bloods are a waste in barrows, ESPECIALLY if you are on normal Magic. How many runs before getting an item question, you will ALWAYS be given one answer : We do not know. You could get it on your first run, you could not get it in the next 10000 runs, we don't know. The odds seems 1 in 20 runs (thats killing ALL the brothers, AND it is STRICTLY the odds, it will unlikely happen.) Get your mage up to at least 70's, and slayer up to 55, and then use slayer dart. Also as money saving tips, get your defence up (so you dont have to pray on Torag or Guthan when maging in melee armor), and your prayer (so you dont use as much prayer pots)
  11. Few weeks ago i got the 7 barrow item weekend, 5 on that saturday. The drops were : Ahrim's Robetop Ahrim's Robetop/Dharok's Plate Guthan's Spear Ahrim's Robetop all in about 30 runs Ahrim was being nice to me. Guthan fancies my character for some reason, 3 spears in a week (5 to date)
  12. (Don't post my vote, i already voted) I have seen many people saying : Guthan heals a lot : Mage him in melee armor, then he doesnt heal. Dharok : Using Verac's set, yes. I tried it, with super set, and I can't seem to hit him without emptying my vials. Torag : Verac's set beats through his armor, his defence level doesnt seem that high. Dharok's higher IMO. Karil : Sure, i tried with +300 ranged defence, i tried not to pray on him with 14 monkfish, came out with 2....
  13. Not necessarily. If your combat is low enough, then ranging them will be faster because of ranging pots acts as a Super set pretty much.
  14. And if it were better, than they would worth a lot more on f2p, because they are better than their best armor they can get. Ask yourself the same question, why is full Dragon armour worth 20m, while the MUCH better Full torags and D Shield cost 4m max? Why are paper hats worth several hundred million? Because they are status symbols, AND they are not as easy to come by as normal conventional armor. (Barrow armor are a lot more common than Dragon armor)
  15. It's in archive of wisdom (Sticky in general P2P), and it's under the guide 'How to duplicate 1-item object', check under oily rod, and it will say how you replace the Blamish Snail Slime. I think it goes like this: Get a sample bottle from Canafis General Store, and get a pestle & mortar. Go into the swamps and kill any snail. Once you kill it, get the body and use the pestle & mortar on it, that should give you the slime,.
  16. just pure melee would do the trick. I used no pots, full melee armor and some tuna potatos. i beat her in 6 tuna potato's. roughly 90 combat i beat her with.
  17. i'd recommend Fishing Monkfish, you might burn them a lil, but the end product is far more useful than lobbies.

the exact odds i am not sure, but here is a tip, try and find a place where there are ONLY leeches. I know it could be hard, but try and find such a place, and stay there. Leeches are fast and they dont hurt too much.

You can do it, but at more expense than one would like. I suggest that: Either: 1. Complete Family Crest and get Chaos Gauntlets (which is possible with the use of Wizard mind bomb), and use Fire Bolt. You will do the same damage as if were using Earth Blast. This should save you some money. Or 2. Get 55 Slayer and at least 70 magic. This would be the most ideal way to do barrows, as you use the least amount of prayer, and you do not need to buy any extra runes. Tips: 1. Get your prayer up so you can store more prayer at the beginning of every trip (i consider the runs in between bank trips as 1 trip, although everytime you loot a chest is a 'run') 2. Get your defence up high so you can mage Guthan and Torag in Melee armor, so you save P pots. 3. As high range as possible for Dragonhide armor and killing Ahrim as fast as possible, so you dont waste food. Level does not reflect how well your character can do in barrows (same with fire cape), it is the stats that are more important. Throw melee out of the window unless you are combat 110+, it will not be effective enough (even with Whip. at very high combats you can consider Verac's set).
  20. Lletya is pretty near too, and the teleport is extremely cheap (50gp per teleport >.<)
  21. Divide your Mage level by 10, round it down, and add 10, thats the Magic Dart's Max Damage. So if you are 99 mage, its 19, but if you potted to 102, then it's 20. For you, its the same as Fire Blast, at 70, its Air Wave. at 80, it's Water Wave, at 90, its Earth Wave. at 100, its Uncharged God spell or fire wave.

once you leave via a rift to an altar, yes.
  23. If it was, it would have been reported as a bug, because it would be too strange for people to stand IN the ladder.
  24. f2p for p2p? Iron is THE ore to powermine, all others are too slow to be effective ways to train. F2p: Scorpion mines, Dwarven mines or lv 5 Wilderness in the Steel Mines. Just dont bring anything but a pick, and you wont lose anything. p2p: East Ardougne, Port Khazard Mine or Dorgeshuun Mine (the last requires both Lost Tribe completed, AND the access to the Culinaromancer's chest)
  25. Attack 79 Str 76 Def 77 HP 81 (155 points from 82...) Would these stats be good for Dharoking? If yes, what would be good choices? I am thinking Ape Atoll because it's the safest there, or the Elves in Lletya. P.S. I want to keep my 97 combat :(
