Closest iron mine to a bank?
Which part unlocks the banking in the chest? Thank you anyway, i didn't know that chest could serve as a bank. Either after giving the Chef the ingredients he asked for, or you have saved 1 council member, which i think its the latter. both are pretty easy to do.

Starting up some Barrow runs!!!
I know the chaos gaunts work because i used when i didnt have 55 slayer way back when con wasnt out :P Edit: here are some advice stats for you that would help you save your money: 1. Get your ranged up, 60 at least, but 70 to be ideal so you can use the best ranger top and bottom, so you dont HAVE to pray Ahrim 100%. At my stats, I use all my leftover prayer on ahrim, and i dont refill it. Makes runs cheaper. 2. Get your Mage up to about 70 if you can, this will allow you to cast on the brothers with less fails, this will also save p pots and runes. If you decide to get 55 slayer however, 70 mage is MINIMUM you should get, 80 to be good, because Slayer Dart's damage increases with Mage level (it's 10 + {Mage Level / 10}, where the number in the brackets are rounded down) 3. Get your defence to lv 70, so you can wear Torag's Armor, this way you can avoind praying on Guthan and Torag, saves you more P pots. 4. Finally, if your tunnel brother is a melee one (Dharok, Verac, Guthan or Torag), then go to my guide in my siggy, saves even more p pots.

crystal bow prices when fixing...
5 times 5+4+3+2=14, 14*180k = 2520k you need to spend to get C bow down to 180k charges IF you are doing it by recharging C Bows, for C Shields however, it is 14*150k= 2100k, although the time taken to get C Shield down is a lot longer than c bows.

Starting up some Barrow runs!!!
If you cant use Slayer Dart, Fire blast is a complete waste of unnecessary money. Because it only deals 1 more damage over Fire Bolt with Chaos Gauntlets, and it doesnt kill all that much faster either, so stick to Fire Bolts if you cant use Slayer Dart. If you are not using full Verac's, you can forget about Meleeing ANYTHING except getting your Kill Count up. Mage is the most effective way to kill the barrow brothers, INCLUDING the ranger, because his magic def is still useless with all his gear. He might be a LITTLE harder to hit, but you will still own him.

Getting to Ape Atoll
Terrorbirds in the Gnome Stronghold i think has the highest HP for birds, and yes they do count too.

Guide to Barrow Tunnels (Only works for RS2007)
I barrow A LOT, so yes you could have seen me, I wear Verac's Armor nowadays. Not to my knowledge, because there is a difference bewteen invisible and hidden. The ladders in this case are hidden rather than invisible. I could try it, and if it works, it would make Barrows TOO easy IMO.

Rune ess & pure ess
Rune essence can only be used to make Air, Mind, Water, Earth, Fire and Body runes, all other runes require Pure Essence to bind. Pure essence can only be obtained on a MEMBER server, and have lv 30 mining when you are mining for essence. In which all essence you mine are pure essence. you can only mine normal essence on free servers. There is no difference in the number of runes between the essences, only the cost.

Guide to Barrow Tunnels (Only works for RS2007)
what sort of insane luck you got there joseph, 3 d meds in 50 runs?! thats brilliant! By the way, for those who are thinking of using these spots, please do watch your HP, because in order to spawn the brother, you might have to spawn an army around the ladder, sure they are not that lethal because its not multicombat, they can still do damage. Especially for lower levels, be careful. EDIT : Added an extra note to explain why these spots are useful.
-
Dharocks Effect(full set or Just Axe?)
Dont forget to take into the account that you need less food when you are training with barrow armor, because of their better stats. Take D Med to be 600k, D legs to be 2.4m, and D Chain to be 18m, thats 21m total. Torag's (for the sake of argument) costs 2m, so you need to spend 19m on repairs before it overtakes dragon. 19m /230k (per repair) = 82 repairs. 82 repairs = 1239 hous of usage. 1239 * 60k xp (on average) = 74m exp, which takes you all the way from 1 attack, 1 str and 1 def to 99 attack, 99 defence and 99 strength. Therefore, Barrow armor are cheaper, hands down.

Guide to Barrow Tunnels (Only works for RS2007)
I dont think he is set to spawn at a particular door, because double brothers between different doors were observed over the course of barrow history (best record was 4 Dharoks over 2 doors i think). I have also experienced a brother spawning at 2 different places, 1 in a side tunnel, and the other near the chest.

I wouldnt say its bug abuse, because its technically not a bug, rather a technical side effect. Because they dont want people to see people standing in ladders :P

these spots work exactly like any spot, they would work horizontally too, It was just coincidence that they are all aligned north/south. You can shoot them east to west as well.

So how many ecto-tokens does everyone have?
over 5000 here, as a side effect of losing sanity to the bonecrusher upstairs of the Ectofungu... sorry, EctofunTus.

A few questions For Training?
For the record, their combat lv of 25 comes entirely from their HP, rest of their stats are probably 1 if not zero, so they shouldnt hit you that badly.

Price Check On Mud Staff
it probably was 17m, when it was released months ago that is. Not even Full Infinity cost that much, he was trying to rip you off. 3m sounds more of the actual price.

Guide to Barrow Tunnels (Only works for RS2007)
29/09/2008 Jagex recently changed the behaviour of Barrow Brothers, and such that they will move out of their safespots, hencing safespotting them no longer works! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!! This guide is for those who may be unfortunate enough to meet any of the melee brothers outside of the chest, but are fortunate enough to meet them in the so-called 'Corner Rooms'. You may not see any safe spots in that room, so you decide to go to your inventory and click on your prayer potion. However, this is totally unnecessary, because in everyone of these corner rooms, there is 1 safe spot each. These are visible to you sometimes, most other times you will not see them. Proof of these spots : You would probably asking yourself, WHY on Earth do these spots exist? What exactly are these? As I said, you will see the culprit for this spot sometimes, but not most of the othertimes. In fact we pay so little attention to it that we sometimes forget that they are there. They are in fact Ladders. Why? Ladder Positions are fixed in the 4 corner rooms, and when you start a barrow run, and you enter a tunnel, it will be in one of these 4 rooms, but the other ladders will be invisible to you, because you cannot use them. However, to the game, they still exist and are still obstacles that you can shoot over (or through depending on which way you look at it). These spots provide extra bit of protection against the melee brothers, and also allow you to save valuable prayer potion doses. The following are images of the 4 corner rooms when the ladder are there, and when they are not there (but being used as a safe spot). Red dots denote where the ladder is supposed to be. North East Room North West Room South East Room South West Room My apologies for some of the images not showing the arrow to prove genuity of author, however due to the time constraints, I did not retake the screenshots of the safe spots. The point is still shown, that you can still use Jedi Mind Trick.. *Smack* er.. these safe spots. Now, why are these spots useful? These I found useful because now I can try and force few of the brothers before reaching the chest, this allows me to mage them from a safe spot, thereby minimising damage and Prayer Potion usage, and save money overall. This technique is achieved by opening and closing door repeatedly until a brother shows up or the doors no longer spawn monsters, in which case I move on to the next room. The following shows the ideal places for this to be implemented The pink lines shows which doors are to be entered and exited repeatedly. These doors are chosen such that there is a safe spot to either side of the door, so regardless of where the brother spawns, you would still be able to mage him safely without using prayer pots. Just be careful of the monsters beside it. Most of them will get stuck by the ladder, though some nasty skeletons might decide to stab you in the back. Kill them with melee and then carry on maging the brother. However if you feel confident enough that you can ignore the skeletons, worms and rats, then you do not need to touch them. You can still hit the barrow brothers even if you are being attacked by another monster. For those people that may have a bit of trouble finding a way down in the tunnels, try and position your map so that it always faces north. If you do this, then every room in the tunnel is unique to its door positions and side tunnel directions. This will allow you to pin point where your ladder room is, and where the treasure room door is. Again when Barrowing, take all the precautions you would, especially down at the tunnels. If you don't feel comfortable about these spots, use a crypt rat or bloodworm as a practice targets, and once you are comfortable, move on to Guthan and Torag, and finally Dharok and Verac. NOTE : These spots do NOT work with Karil or Ahrim. For me, I NEVER fight Karil anywhere but at the chest. This is to conserve prayer potion by allowing me to drink right after a Hologram shows up. It is recommeded that you drink immediately after a face, so that you wont be immediately drained of prayer. What I do is kill everything in the treasure room, then equip my prayer outfit, set autocast and auto retaliate, and THEN wait for the face. Once face is up, drink, pray, open chest, own. Hope this of help. I will update this guide when I find more safe spots (which I have seen one more so far, will try and find others) EDIT 29th August 2006 Behold, I have found yet another safe spot in the Barrow Tunnels, this time it is near the North West corner room. This makes ALL rooms suitable for Brother Force Spawning. The exact location of the spot is shown here : Courtesy to Imageshack for hosting these images, I will try and shrink them in a later time. Thanks to Tip it for the Barrow Tunnel Image.

Barrows and low detail
which kinda sucks in my opinion, there should be a way in low detail to tell you when your prayer is drained. VERY IMPORTANT if you are up against dharok in prayer.

where is the best place to get 5k flax?
I thought Spinning in Lumby castle is the fastest? Well if it isnt, it is very close second, and you don't need energy pots there either, because you don't run much.

Mage Bonus Using Slayer Dart
Mage Bonus may affect Magic Dart, but since the Barrow Brothers have a such a low Magic Defence that it might as well not matter. Magic Attack Bonus does NOT affect the Magic Damage at all, it merely increases/decreases the accuracy of the spells (splashes, 0 damage counts as a hit). If it had, then Ahrim set would cost at least twice as much, because it has the best magic bonus by far. The damage of Magic Dart is 10 + {Magic Level/10}, where the number in brackets are rounded down, and it is currently the ONLY spell that increases damage when your magic level increases. EDIT : For the record, I use Verac's ARMOR (not the full set, i don't wear the Flail) for the Barrow brothers, because it provides decent Melee Defence (all over 300 when i wear Dragon square), very good prayer bonus AND it has less Magic Attack Penalty. I can still get +3 Magic Attack Bonus when I mage Guthan and Torag in Melee Armor.

Dharocks Effect(full set or Just Axe?)
its worth getting the 70 defence, the barrow armors on their own are superior to dragon armor's stats by a long shot.

Wow. (RS Economy)
There is one thing I would like to add : I think MMORPG, such as Runescape, is a strong reflection of the world we live in today. What does the thread maker's situation tell us? That money dictates the perceived 'quality' of a person, not his/her skills or personality. Who would be more famous? A master Computer Programmer or Bill Gates-like person? Obviously the latter, because society nowadays tries to value everything to this so called 'Cash', because they believe they can buy anything they wanted. Same thing is happening in Runescape, where poor people are looked down upon, and skillers are not as respected, because they don't care about skills, all they want is money. They also yet fail to realise that it IS the skillers that generate a lot of supply and demand for the popularly merchanted raw materials, and it is the SKILLERS that provide a base for which market is built upon.

Barrows for me.
as long as you get your kill count to around 10 (between 10 and 15 would be a good number), you should be able to make money out of barrows. Now you could cut down on your cost if you dont prayer on torag or guthan, but you should then use better food like monkfish, which doesnt cost an awful lot more than lobbies, but heal more. you should get about 40 bloods, 70 deaths and 120 chaos per run, on average, so 20 runs would get your money back.
