  1. it hits hard for its speed, and anything that hits harder than whip is wayyyyy too slow compared to the whip (i do not know why people can hope to compare Dharok's Axe with it, it hits once in the time that whip hits twice...). Ie. for the power, there is nothing comparable to whip for speed. For speed, there is nothing comparable to whip for power, except maybe D Dagger special. And no, whip cannot strength on its own, so you need another weapon to do it, which is either d scimmy or Dharok's set (i prefer the former, i dont like the latter)
  2. Negative.... Cape gives you +9 defence bonus to all defence, and nothing else Obby shield has the same stats as a granite shield, but +5 strength. It is better than rune kite at magic and ranged defence, but inferior at crush attacks.
  3. perfect, wood axe is 20k, rune plate is 65k, chain is about 40k, so you got 15k in your favor.

    if you watched his entire video, the gp value restores to normal, it's just a visual hack. if the hack was real, then RS economy would be totally destroyed...
  5. airs are unfortunately down to 15ea the safest way to to abyss is this setup: No helmet Amulet of power/Defence Black D'hide Body Black D'Hide chaps Ring of Dueling Black D'hide vamps Sara book (Holy Book) Bronze Pickaxe Legends cape Boots of lightness That would be the setup for most effective magic and melee defence for its price (no more than 60k on you, and provides over 100 magic defence).
  6. 3 mage/range attacks and chaos elemental is history, Jad does far more damage than Chaos Elemental. Why didnt ANYONE mention Skeletal Wyverns? Without Ele shield, it hits 50's no?

  9. not true, the ladder will remain in place, the door to the chest will change however. 1. I recommend Verac's if you wanna save prayer pots, i never liked havaing 100 mage attack bonus down in the crypts, having +10 is good enough for me. 2. Mage short you can recover your arrows, but if you already have crystal bow at 150k charges, then go for it. Mage Short is for those who doesnt have such a c bow. 3. Super restore will always restore 1 more point than Prayer pots. And for some really bizarre reason, it is easy to find super restore pots that is cheaper than prayer pots. If you bought some super restores but they are more expensive, i recommend taking 1 and rest prayer pots. This is because it will allow less burning of money but will also allow you to heal your knee caps if Karil decided to shoot your kneecap, ankles and stuff... (i mean the agility lowering effect), very good choice if you are killing karil before verac. 4. Whip and rune kite i found to be very good, because you can tank mage the lesser 2 melee (Torag and Guthan) without prayer pots at all (unless you are prepared with 20 p pots to do 50 runs without banking or something), and is also useful in the tunnels. Verac's set effect is only effective when you are actually hitting something that's heavily armored, and those are the brothers. i found no problem at all with whip in tunnels with +100 or so slash bonus and 79 attack. 5. Side step is for those who isnt used to barrows and need some breathing space, however at your combat level, i didnt find a use for the side steps. 6. No, keeping your verac's helm on is good enough. it has no magic defence penalty and it provides some prayer bonus should you decide to use your left over prayer on him. 7. you will always end up in one of the corner rooms. That room will always have 3 doors sealed and 1 door open, but it is totally random as to where that room and what door is open. You will never end up in the side tunnels or the middle (chest) doors. Recipe for disaster 1. you must complete the following to complete the Recipe: Desert Treasure Horror from the deep 175 QP and all quests needed to complete the sub quests. You do not need to finish every quest to get the 175, i have aroud 18 incomplete ones and i have 187 qp. 2. You will need to complete the ENTIRE quest (including beating the culinaromancer) to access the barrow gloves. Also the game only counts the NUMBER of subquests you finish to determine what gloves you get, not the individual ones.
  10. your combat level doesnt reflect your stats at all. what the guides say about combat level is that they assume that your stats is pretty balanced (rather than a pure say). your ranged and prayer certainly doesnt need anymore work, but a bit more defence and especially magic will bring you far. If you dont like mage training and want to start barrowing now, use Fire BOLT with chaos gauntlets (the additional 1 damage by using Fire Blast does not justify its double cost). However it is preferred to use Magic Dart in barrows because the runes are recycled by the chest. for that to be possible, you need lv 55 slayer, and for it to be effective, you need at least 80 magic (Magic dart's damage is your magic level's first digit +10). some say 70, but i recommend 80.
  11. the crystal bow question i have no idea, i dont have the bow, but i dont think you can recharge a partly used bow... Karil's Bow is more powerful than Rune arrows with Magic Short, same speed, better bonus, but the bolts are not re-usable and requires repair. With your stats, your first run will probably need 0 pots, but i am working from wearing a prayer outfit here (i found Verac's armor set to be extremely effective. Provides good melee defence for the lesser brothers, very good prayer bonus for the nasties, and less magic penalties) Though i recommend getting your magic up to at least lv 80 so you can hit 18 with darts. Ahrim's staff is worth 100k for a reason, because it autocasts what 90% of the other staff autocasts (the elemental strikes, bolts, blasts and waves), provides no runes and is 2 handed I dont know what your question on slayer staff is, but you need lv 55 slayer to wield it, and it can autocast magic dart, crumble undead and the wave spells. EDIT : Your subsequent runs (restarting a run without banking) will take about 2-3 doses, 4 to be safe. I recommend you to wear prayer outfit and not mage outfit because having +100 mage bonus is about the same as having -5, because the brothers are so not resistant to mage that you will still hit them 24/7 with -5 mage bonus, especially at higher levels. If you use prayer outfit, you can definitely save more on p pots, making your trips last longer and save you money in the long run. you may also want to consider bringing a holy wrench (Rum Deal quest reward, when it is in your inv, everytime you drink a pot that restores prayer, it will restore 1 more than normal)
  12. i used the bank trips, teleport runes is handy, either camelot or ardy would do nicely.
  13. fire giants, if you have a guthan set, i found is a good way to obtain high level herbs, and the brimhaven dungeon is usually uncrowded. if that doesnt suit, then just range the chaos druid warriors down in the yanille dungeon, not too far from a bank and its nearly almost empty.
  14. there should only be 4 greegree's, Zombie, Karamjan Monkey, Ninja and Gorilla Greegree's, there is no other monkeys or apes you can make your greegree out of (unless you can kill Awowogei)
  15. I still dont recommend using deaths, use chaos instead, you will hit more accurately and saves you money

    it's strictly not needed to have it when you get there, because there is a bank in port phasmatys that you could just withdraw it there and then talk to her. Although DO make sure that you have 1 somewhere.
  17. eh? There is no quest needed for a Mage's Book, it's a (very high priced for its use) reward from the Mage Training Arena
  18. 1. Yes you can do barrows but it will not be an effective way to make money. 2. Range Ahrim, his melee defence is too good for your level. 3. Wind Blast (and all blast spells for that matter) is a waste of money, get your mage to lv 59 so you can complete the Family Crest quest, which allows you to use Chaos Gauntlets, a much cheaper option. Otherwise level your slayer up to lv 55 to access slayer dart, again not recommended until you have a higher mage level. Right now, Fire Bolt is your best option (1 less damage, but half the cost of runes) 4. 10-15 KC is a good number, but if your food runs out before that, hit the chest immediately. NB : for your level, when racking up kill counts, always get to the chest room, kill the brother when you open it, THEN get your kill count up, otherwise you will run the risk of running out of food when fighting against the last brother. Same with prayer pots, if you run out of it before you kill ALL of the brothers, go to a bank and take more before continuing. I suggest 10 prayer pots for you. Also read Satenza's Guide to Barrows for Lower levels, it can be found in the Archive of Wisdom in General P2P, it's a sticky.

Though rough estimate Slayer dart could get you about 2-3 trips, because it kills faster and so uses less p pots and would be able to stay there for longer Also Socc, I would recommend that you should have at least lv 70 magic to go with slayer dart, because the damage of the slayer dart is indeed 10 + first digit of your magic level. Being able to do 16 damage isnt all that much different from being able to do 15 (Fire Bolt with Chaos Gauntlets), so it would be more economical to stick with Fire Bolt until at least 70. 80 would be good because you can do 18. I hope you dont mind advices on a guide thread :P
  20. That Elemental orb doesnt allow you to add an orb to the staff, it merely allows you to change the element of the staff when there is an orb already on it. I dont see how it actually contributes to crafting at all. I could be wrong, as my research into construction is somewhat limited
  21. click counter is a thing where if you click it once, it adds 1 number to the display, so you can keep track of how many times you clicked. I dont know where you could get one though...
  22. your strength isnt bad for your level (my strength is lowest of the 3 melee combat skills, i value accuracy and defence more over strength, or because i couldnt be bothered to train with anything but a whip :P) For Runecrafting, Craft body runes, it is one of the best ways for an f2p to level RC now. After you hit about 44, try going to the official forums and apply to be a crafter for world 16 air company. Basically you pay people money to give you unnoted rune ess, and you make your money back from the air runes you sell. Costs a bit, but it is much faster than crafting them all on your own. Prayer is definitely hard to level because most of the giant training spots will be taken, but if you search for the wildy map, there is a place around lv 20 wildy called death gorge, which has 3 big bone spawns, so you can train your prayer there. try not to wear anything, and just brin food to stay there longer. if any pk's come, punch them until they give you a lumbridge teleport, repeat the process. Ranged at your level i think i trained it at the hill giants. it's been so long... you would probably get a bit of flaming, but you could always ignore people.

    try and see if you can invest some money into willow logs and train your fletching to 70, after that alch yew longs, it got my mage from 70 (or thereabouts) to 81. Defence is your priority if you want to do barrows sooner, as well as your mage. I would think that 70 range is a necessity due to that Ahrim hits hard, so if you want to conserve on prayer pots, you need to wear the best anti-mage equip you can get, which is Kari's Leather outfit (if you cant afford that, black d hide). Again, Defence first, as it is the most important skill in barrows if you are not going to pray on the 2 lesser melee brothers (Guthan and Torag) to maximise profit.
