Not bad for a first attempt I would say, but in the future try staying away from alot of basic filters. The best thing you can really do is just play around alot until you find a style of manipulations that suit you.
  2. Maybe your lowering the file size to much? Try lowering it right to 30kb.
  3. Anybody find the tut helpful???
  4. Using what program for the animation? If its anything other than Imageready orPhotoshop, I can't help, sorry.
  5. K, well I noticed there was now a sticky on size reducing and I posted this awhile ago but it was never added to the tut list, so maybe it will be now? (I even pmed a mod and they didn't add it) Anyways enjoy, I hope it helps, its easy, but alot of people don't know about it. Lowering file size without drastically lowering quality Using Photoshop CS2 (this tut assumes you know the very basics of photoshop) 1.Open the file into photoshop I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m going to use this sig that I made for Booduz (its 51k) 2. Now go to File> Save for Web and it will bring up this box: 3. Now extend the quality box and move the slider bar (highlighted in red) until the file size (highlighted in green) suits your taste: 3.b. Or instead of adjusting the file size by the quality bar, you can click on the arrow (highlighted in yellow) and click 'Optimize to File Size', you can then set the file size you want the image to be: 4. Continue saving, by clicking save and naming your file. 5. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s it, you̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢re done, and yes it was THAT easy! Finished Product: Original (51k): Reduced file: (29k) There was practically no quality loss. And it can go even lower that that with barely any quality loss, here the sig is at 20kb: Heres another example that i resized for bam: Original (30kb) (14kb!!)
  6. Wow man you've deffinately improved. The last one of the cat... almost looks like a picture... Keep up the good work!
  7. Sunny 16 rule is setting the f/stop to f/16 on a sunny day and setting the shutter speed to what ever you have the ISO at, so for example say your ISO is 100, youd set your shutter speed to 1/100, and so on. Ya I got a new camera, its not an SLR but its not bad, its Fujifilm Finepix s5200, and you can still manually select everything you can on an SLR, you just cant switch lenses, and occasionally I still use the old film camera when I want the SLR feel. About the pictures on your website, I don't really mind if they are on there or not, so ya...
  8. Thanks for the comments guys :D greenslime89: Thanks for the critiques :D I know what your saying about the third one, its not really one of my favorites and actually I didn't even mean to post it #-o Do you think the sunny sixteen rule would have helped on the fourth shot? The sixth and seventh ones are actually sand :XD: I agree with you on the sixth one, it could have been shot better, but I do like the feel it gives. The seventh was shot in black and white, so it was supposed to look like that. On the 9th one, actually the only manipulation was burning everything to give it that look, I shot it at a slower shutter speed to get that sense of movement. I never noticed the knee on the tenth one, but now that you mention it, it is distracting isn't it. Again thanks for the critiques, and yes good critisism is always better then just saying their all good. Off course I remember you WeeBoab  pyromancer: Ya thats thermite alright . Science club always has its benefits rik: Haha yup its White Sands. Again thanks everyone for the comments, even the people I didn't mention above.
  9. Animals was March's theme :P The voting process is still taking place, I believe. The theme for April is not yet written in stone. January...Feburary... March... Oh ya your right it is April #-o.
  10. Added about four more I think.
  11. Eww, animals, I might have to wait for next month. Unless I can find something either saved away on computer, or if... I... actually take some more animal photos :-s .
  12. Hey guys I'm back after a long brake from Runescape, photography, and just being on the computer. Just to show some stuff I've been doing:

Its pretty good. But I do have some c/c. First the part that (i assume) is supposed to be the focal point of the picture, the large part of the plant in the foreground, is a bit blurry and out of focus. Also I think that this would look alot better on a bright day, rather than taking it at night or in the darker part of the day with a flash (I think is what you did :-k ) The problem with the lighting as No_OnE mentioned is that the middle of the picture has to much light on it, you could adjust this by making the f/stop on the camera higher. Or just using a differnt source of light as i said before. Anyways, its pretty good since it came from a sample of your first photos. Just play around with lighting and you should be able to get it right. Navy

You don't have to rate if you don't want, you don't have to use it if you don't want, you don't even have to look at it if you dont want. Just NEVER forget. however anybody is welcome to use it

edit: tried to resize but it didnt work, ill fix tomorrow Nice sig btw. We should never forget.
  17. Thanks guys :) and Sea you should visit here more often, theres tons of great artists! Des is this your first digital slr camera? If so, i would say the D2X/s is going way overboard on a first camera... you do realize they are like $3-5000 depending on the kit you get right?
  18. That is amazing man, awesome work!!!! =D>
  19. hmm i think the lips were a bad addition :-# but the rest still looks awesome, just fix the lips
  20. nice man, the eyes are real googly :P
  21. Des if you want a 10+ I would go with the d80 (10.2), which is what I'll end up getting as soon as I can make some money. Theres also the Sony Alpha (10.2) but I've read nothing but bad reviews on it so far. Black: Ya I am probaly going to have to wait a few months anyways till I can make some money, so hopefully by then I can get a nice little package  . I've mainly heard that Nikons are better for macros and general nature scenes while Canons are better for like people and stuff, so thats why I've been looking at Nikons. Thanks Alduron :) I actually tried that with some of the pics and I didn't post, but none of them turned out very well, hence I didn't post them . So ya that is one thing I need to play around with and get better with. I use a Canon AE-1P film camera, its really old and not very good, but I'm looking to get a Nikon d80, as i mentioned above. Thanks again everyone thats posted :) Navy
  22. Thanks guys :) I use a Canon AE-1P film camera. Its really ghetto, it was actually the first SLR camera to have a 'computer' in it. And it only takes at 2.2 megapixles (about the same as the camera on my phone :XD: ). But I'm hoping to get a Nikon d80 sometime soon (its a digital SLR). \
  23. added a new onei think :-s
