  1. Just as a side note, they won't allow the new potions to be PVP. If they do, herb will need to be added to the combat level, otherwise you could get a level 3 with much higher levels. Unless they make the potions tradeable. I'd say go in stages, for whichever will be most useful for you.
  2. Yeah, it's pretty slow if you don't chin or cannon. 40k an hour is probably about average, from my experience. An idea at the minute is possibly nuking the druid herb droppers in the edgeville dungeon. Not a fantastic rate of xp, but with the current herb prices increasing daily, it might make a lot of sense. Bloodvelds are good a bit later on, I think. High HP and low combat level is a good combination, combined with the fact that the drops just about pay for your arrows. Yaks with knives is meant to be very fast, but I've never used the method myself. I would reccomend broad bolts. They are about the same as mith/addy, and cost about 128 each on the GE. Cheap effective, but you need 55 slayer. They hit high and regular. I use them when I am fighting steel dragons even, and they are effective, but I am 92 range.
  3. I'm a whisker away from 92 range, and I've never chinned. I think that generally, I've spent most my time (ESPECIALLY) at those levels at the fire giants in the waterfall. They are easy, fun, and plenty pay for the arrows. You'll make a nice profit. Avies even now, at my range level, arn't giving me more than 40k an hour xp, really. They are always so busy that there is no point. Great money though. Depending on your defence level, Ankou's are quite nice. There is a safe spot, but bones to peaches would suffice. The loot is reasonably good, and a lot of it is stackable, which means longer trips. They often arn't crowded anymore. Other than that advice, I can't give you too much. Like I said I've never efficiently levelled like power gamers. I've just done what I enjoyed. But 76 to 85 did go very quickly on fire giants for me.
  4. Yes, I see you've posted an application - we're very interested in you joining the staff. I really enjoyed your Tip.it Times Article in January. =D> I'm afraid you have gotten me confused with someone else. I haven't applied yet, but I will be doing.
  5. I'd like to apply for a columnist position, however I am unsure as to whether or not you want someone like me. I've played since the start of Runescape, but on the whole, very casually. I still don't have a 99, but I feel I could offer a lot more to the current mid/high level runescape community, than someone with complete 99s and quests.
  6. I've played since the start, and one of the TRUE roll backs, was when PHats were duped. They rolled back the servers a day and a half, so all the XP gained etc in that time was reversed. Jagex basically saved all the information at certain points during the day, and all they do is load that save instead of the save that was made when you last logged out.
  7. No, they mean 200m xp in one skills is level 126 in that skill. So.. level 126 str or def.
  8. Dragon bolts are more dangerous than Dark Bow. They hit consistantly high, and your opponant never knows when you will hit a random 50+
  9. I'm a pure ranger, I suppose. Why did I train it? I like the idea of having almost themed characters. I never roleplay, but I plan to get my range maxed out, followed by fletching, woodcutting and agility. I guess I just like the concept. Runescape is really the only MMORPG where you can be a "master" of every skill. Melee might be easier to use in certain situations, but I believe in PvP that I generally have the advantage. I'm going to be 99 Range and 70 Def, and under 90 combat without summ. I think that's a pretty powerful character, and it's perfectly balanced, unlike a 99 att 1 def 99 str meleer.
  10. Castle wars will die eventually. With the release of new minigames, there is only so long before they hit on one that can compete in terms of playability. The big difference is, Castle Wars rewards have always been awful. They either need to make castle wars rewards appealing, or make new minigame rewards less appealing.
  11. I'm 94 combat 52 summon 64 slayer mid 60s att and str, 70 def 90 range. I get 29 blues for 30 zeal. Has to be all combat skills, not just summ and slay.
  12. It was only declared a full game in it's own right today, after that post was made yesterday.
  13. Some people are skillers. Troll Stronghold requires combat. Jagex is doing what it's customers want, to a very fair point.
  14. So I need to complete Death Plateu and Troll Stronghold? Alright, thanks guys.
  15. I know about the skill requirements... but do I have to have completed any quests to get there? I can't find a route where I don't need to do a quest.
  16. I have just finished buying all my equipment for a few trips to the aviansies... Do I need to have completed any quests to be able to get to the Dungeon? I'm looking at maps and to go through the troll stronghold it appears that I need to have done a quest or two... Is there any other ways to get there?
  17. It's simply because the GE hasn't kept up with the rapid price changes. The reason God Armour and Swords etc, (and even claws are on their way), is because items go directly to the GE on loot exchange. The reason Party Hat and Third Age prices are warped is because once the price is wrong, people are never going to sell for that price, and therefore the price never changes. Your solution isn't the best one to this problem.
  18. I'd get 52 if you really want to get some good items. There is still too many people in the mid crater who fight with just one valuble item... your goal is to win that item off them heh.
  19. Not runescape, but rather in the space of 2-3 years, going from making almost 0 profit with like.. 12 staff, max, to making millions and millions of profit a year. I remember a picture being posted here a few years ago of the Jagex staff on their day out paintballing. Then a few short years later, and there are more staff there than can even know each other, and backing investors. It's no longer a personal thing. Absolutely astonishing.
  20. I'd imagine the main target of it is people who play together in a group at school. For instance, I guessed tonnes of my friends passwords at school to get onto their file system, because it was their favourite football team, computer game etc. My password got banned, surprisingly, considering it was quite a strange reference that I'd imagine no one could guess. But maybe if you knew me really well in real life you could guess it.
  21. Luck does not come into it. Chance, is the main factor. Luck suggests there is some control, in any form, over chance. There IS a drop rate, i'd imagine roughly 1/2000. It doesn't mean that after you kill 2k, you automatically get a visage, nor does it mean if you get one on your first drag you won't get one till 2001 kills. Play roulette and learn about chance.
  22. The only skills I can see myself getting 99 in is range and hp, as well as maybe fletching. I like range, just because it's my favourite way to fight, and my character is called Ranging Roy, it's the only one I can ever see myself really getting a 99 in. I'm 89, and use it for everything basically. I - as of right now - am not searching for 99, but I imagine if I get to 94-5 training normally, I'll probably make the push for 99. Coincidently, I'm not an RPer at ALL, but I have a strange inclination to really raise the stats that would line up with the idea of a ranger. Range, HP, Agility, Fletching, WC and Firemaking. No idea why.
  23. About 3 days after I started RS (in 2001/2002), I found a steel 2h on the floor in Varrock. I was ecstatic when my friend told me is was worth 1k.
  24. Definately the mid leveled ones. I love training on them. You can't discount the charms, because they drop tonnes of crimsons (the good ones), which are worth saving up if you ever do decide to do summoning. They drop plenty of nature runes and the coal and mith ores you get are worth collecting (noted), cause they stack up after a while.
  25. I doubt RS will end. It will only expand. Consider that Mechscape is in heavy development now, which should be the most labour intensive aspect of it's existence, and Runescape is still getting updated regularly and updated well. The only thing Jagex need to be wary of is their members. Consider that most P2P players are adults or teens, who appreciate good content. Also consider that people complete things before Jagex releases new things, 99s for instance. This can lead to people getting bored. IMO, if I were Jagex, alongside the release of Mechscape, I would add another third of the map to Runescape, remove the level cap, tonnes of new quests and monsters. The reasoning behind this? Well. Nobody likes to miss out of the start of an MMORPG. So all those paying members from RS would want to join up for mechscape.. for atleast a month. But on the other hand, with LOTS of new content added, they won't want to leave runescape for a while to play mechscape.. which is exactly what they would do if they only had a few quests to complete.. mastered a few mini games and got a couple 99s.
