  1. We're still talking about Jagex right? To be fair, been some nice content recently. As long as the quest follows the trail of Branches of Darkmeyer, not Pillar In The Wound. Ok "Pillar in the Wound" made me LOL. But -- I gotta ask -- what is the likelihood that Jagex is going to give us back-to-back epic battles?!?!? That said, I, for one, am HUGELY keen to see this saga move forward, if not for anything else but to avenge Hazelmere! --------------- Back on Topic +1 - I got seven seeds for the new herb last night. Pity I'm only 82 farming atm. Can they be grown using assists?
  2. Exactly. I'm sure some sex offenders are predators in the stereotypical sense. I'm also equally sure that some sex offenders are normal people who don't have the self-control to keep their sexual urges in check. And in a society that discourages self-control, I'm not at all surprised to see this happening frequently. Blyaunte: I find it interesting that in your post you make it quite clear that you discourage your kids from applying a label of "black and white" to anything; and then you go on to do exactly that with your description of sex offenders. Forgive me if this seems naive, but I'm more inclined to listen to the opinion of someone who's been abused rather than someone who's judging from an armchair. Where did you get the idea that I've never been abused? Well, you didn't mention you had been, so I assumed you hadn't. Way to reply to my whole post btw ;) I'm sorry -- was there something else you wanted me to reply to? Your previously dismissive tone indicated to me that you had no interest in anything I had to say on the subject because you believed I had no first-hand experience on the subject matter -- about which you are mistaken -- and really, I am not inclined to get into another shouting match with a moderator who's inclined to ban me for talking out of turn the moment the conversation gets heated. If there is there a double-entendre in my previous statement to which you feel the need to take issue, I certainly don't see it.

  4. Oh -- and I'd like to complain! Prior to this upgrade, I had prayed at the Zaros Altar and my prayer was showing at 113 when I logged out. When I logged in after the prayer upgrade, my prayer was at 990. <.< BTW, praying at the Zaros altar at 99 prayer brings it to 1138 ...
  5. While I appreciate this sentiment, and cannot say that I disagree with it -- I can say that, in the end, all we're attaining with respect to the latter option is more likely a modicum of revenge. Not that there is anything wrong with that. As for life imprisonment, sure -- in the end, that is the far better option. You know -- I should respond to this -- I really should, especially since you took the time to create a whole separate account for it. But, honestly, I find it difficult to take it seriously ... Perhaps, if you hadn't created the whole separate account for it, I could tell whether or not I was being trolled. If you're serious -- then fine -- it's nice to know you've somehow managed to come to grips with your issues. I'm not about to engage in your psychotherapy sessions herein, but I am somewhat taken aback by the odd manner in which you've humanized your abuser as, with the exception of the abuse, being otherwise "normal" ...
  6. You know, it's one thing to be a protected teenager, with parents keeping a watchful eye over you it's quite another to be the parent of that same child, who constantly worries about their well-being. To be honest, I have never understood the bizarre reasoning behind the perceived "invulnerability" of teenagers. It's almost as though there are absolutely no dangers out there, whatsoever. It's uncanny, really. My own teenagers are, I swear, in a conspiracy to see which of them can give me gray hairs before the other. None have succeeded yet, but they're due any day now. Both my boys have recently developed this ridiculous sense of "absolutes": everything has always/never been the way things are right now/before, and no amount of reminders of their own past experience to the contrary or the real life experience of their own parents is ever going to dissuade them from believing that reality is any different not even when reality is staring them directly in the face. Instead, they plunge headforth into impending disaster at almost the same rate as one telling them: "I told you so" ... If you have children and/or if you've ever been sexually/physically abused by another person you'd understand and appreciate just how incredibly vulnerable children really are. But you don't, you aren't and you haven't been. Yet. No not yet. Sexual predators aren't "human" not in the sense that one considers other human beings as "human" but none of you would understand that unless you've actually been face to face with one. There's a reason they're called "predators" they literally "feed" on the feelings of empowerment they receive, while they strip you of all your dignity. They feed on your despair. They live to dominate and control you in every way possible. They leave you feeling like less than filth. It takes a lot to reclaim someone who's been victimized in this fashion. It takes a virtual rebuilding of one's own personae. One's own sense of self doesn't come back overnight. It takes a very long time. ... and there is no rehabilitation for sexual predators none whatsoever because the criminal justice system doesn't do anything for them there's no effort made to retrain them. And if they did try, it wouldn't "fix" them anyways. ... and they certainly don't punish these animals long enough for the heinous crimes that they commit. The chances that any such being has recanted his previous infatuations is slim, at best, and most likely not at all. They do their minimal time in prison, are released, and re-offend. Wash, rinse, repeat. But please, feel free to defend sexual predators especially since you don't know any, never truly encountered one, or anything else like them. That's the best time to defend them, really. ... because you're all ... invulnerable ... In any event, please, feel free to elucidate further on the injustice of this creature's perceived circumstances hell, I'm somewhat surprised that no one's blamed the victims, yet.
  7. ... and what will the effect be on Elys?
  8. All I know, is that every time he used that attack, I got hit for damage, no matter what I did ... <_< Still managed to kick his undead backside though!
  9. That's been in RS for over a week, keep up! :P Quest was really enjoyable although I haven't actually beaten the boss yet because my internet sucks but I'll keep trying! At least it's not as expensive as the Nomad battle was in terms of supplies. Try logging in during "off hours" -- it may help with your lag issues!
  10. I had a long reply written but then I realized it was unnecessary. This is the internet. You cannot restrict information on it unless you live in a communist country. Not to mention that there is a HELL of a lot more to Fansites than just "Quest Guides". Just sayin' ... Where in my post was that said? All I said was Jagex slowly but surely will force fansites to take down their quest guides in order enact Nail #46 in the coffin and make more money off their players. We all use quest guides. It's simply sinister and brilliant to slowly implement a system where you have to pay money for the only recognized place for quest guides. I am fully aware fansites > quest guides. Well -- there's nothing Jagex can do, really, to keep "guides" from being posted on fansite forums such as this one, is there? Jagex does own the content. So anything written about Jagex content could be claimed as copyright infringment if I'm not mistaken. Just because they own it, can they keep people from "talking about it"?

In addition to the "then and than" and the "there, they're and their" hubbubs, I'd also like to add my own pet peeve about people who cannot discern between using "your" and "you're" ... <_<
  12. You don't think that for every legit player bank staring, boss hunting, etc... That there are 5-10 bots at sorcerers garden, turoths, tzhaar, living rocks, dragons, yews, dungeoneering, mining, avansies? Any skill you do, and any skilling location you visit, legit players are outnumbered by at least 5-1. 5-1? I think you're being a little conservative in your estimation there, hun ...
  13. Wow -- need some kleenex after that nerdgasm?  Yeah yeah -- I will probably get banned for this one -- but it was funny and so I went there ... <_<
  14. One of the truly amazing things that I love about about the "farming" skill is how it's actually connected to "real life" gardening. Planting pretty and distracting flowers in a vegetable garden, distracts the insects which will destroy plants, while it attracts the other types of insects, like bees, that assist plants in the pollination process. It's very cool!
  15. Once again -- I love your sig ... <3: But ... What happens if, well, Dungeoneering isn't involved with the ROTM, and the Dragonkin are just a whole other can of worms? I mean, win-win, right?

  17. In hindsight, I'd just like to say that, given the inherent lag issues that I personally experienced while in Darkmeyer, I am sincerely hopeful that if, as and when we get to the boss-fight, that said boss fight is not located in the middle of some bussling city filled with chatty people killing loads of npcs ...

  19. Well I managed to finish the quest, finally once I worked out my lag issues ... Logged in early in the evening on W48, and it was lagging so bad in Darkmeyer that I turned down all the graphics settings to minimal and shut down all sounds and chats even then it was still lagging so noticeably, that I thought I must have a virus, or something. So I logged off and did a scan found nothing ... So, I figured it must be the sheer amount of traffic on that particular world or my internet connection so I logged back in and checked for the lowest PING world I could find (W27 was under 40), logged into that world and ... still lagging, bad. So, I figured, what the heck, let's see how bad this battle can go, right? So, I walked in -- we chatted and I died! No idea what happened one second we're talking, next thing I am dead. Tellied back to Darkmeyer, collected my gear and logged out. Ok so I figured there's NO WAY, I can do that battle with THAT much lag. So I decided to log out for a bit, and come back MUCH later in the evening and try this battle again when, perhaps, there would not be so many people on. So I grabbed a nap and set an alarm to wake me for 2:00 AM. Logged in to my "old faithful" W54, which is usually quiet at that time. Left my settings on Minimal had virtually no lag and beat him ... Quest complete! Ya know, in SOME ways I am not looking forward to ROTM ...
  20. What are the prospects that the empty locked building in Edgeville has something to do with ROTM?
  21. I assume you mean running total? Even if he's not, can we "pretend" he is?
  22. Actually -- from time to time, those advertisements remain, albeit slightly "hidden" behind the game -- even though you may or may not see them. They occasionally do pop out, like subliminal messages, when you go to log out, or your screen blanks out while scene shifting, like during teleports. A friend of mine busted Jagex over this a while ago. In his opinion, Jagex was doing it deliberately to increase their revenues from advertisement "hits". <_<
  23. WGS offered 400k XP -- I would assume that ROTM's "huge" experience lamps will offer at least that much.
  24. Was that "since" the update yesterday? Are they easier to get now? Enquiring minds NEED to know!!!
