31-Aug-2011 The Branches of Darkmeyer
Ok -- so it's not only me then ... To be honest, I'm not sure sure my 'puter can handle it all that well at the best of times. It IS getting old -- seeing as I bought it in 2007. Then again, though, I coulda sworn my kids were downloading the internet again ... <_<

31-Aug-2011 The Branches of Darkmeyer
Good quest so far, although I have not finished it yet. Loving the story-line, despite some of it's minor "flaws". I got as far as killing "Harold" -- realized it was 2:00 AM -- and decided I was better off going to bed. I will save the epic battle for tonight when I am awake -- ooh, or maybe tomorrow, because it's my clan's PC night tonight. That said, did anyone else have problems with epic lag while in Darkmeyer, last night? W48 was absolutely fricken BRUTAL! I'd click someplace and then have to wait 5-8 seconds before I'd move anywhere. I tried shutting down all my chats, and reduced my graphics levels and I STILL lagged. ... and while my Internet's not the fastest in the world, it's not THAT slow all the time and I am pretty sure none of my children were downloading the entire internet again, last night ... ... I think ...

DEAR GOD NO!!! That was the final straw' date=' Jagex! [/quote'] I'm glad I quit this game ages ago. Now the RS tax payers will have to pay for his unemployment!! Well -- it was a cost saving move, dontcha know. A down-sizing, as it were. Just like when Jagex down-sized the number of bankers and staff at the GE a few years back. Cutting pixelated employees saves money paid out for salaries and benefits, and thereafter the profit saved by such a move goes forward to pad the pockets of those fat-cat shareholders ...

It's Darkmeyer, as part of the next Myreque quest. I hope RoTM will be good... Your point being? My point being that, yet again, they're adding "new content" -- and whoile new city -- while Prifddinas sits idle and unused -- and has been for, what now, 6 years? It isn't 6 years since the last quest in the elves series came out... Be patient like everyone else (just as me I love that series) you are screaming everywhere about that one pillar falling down on the queen, you don't want the elves quest end up like that because you want it quick, I rather wait and have a good quest. You're right – Prifddinas was released in September 2004, so it's only been SEVEN years (not six). The last elf quest came out in 2009 -- that was like, what, yesterday, right? You can't "hurry" stuff like that ...

Unobtainable and, it appears, utterly useless unless you're in certain mini-games that allow you to use the armour for PvP situations while wearing the full set ...

BXP weekend
This. Either that or just sit pretty. BXPW isn't for another two weeks yet, so you'll have at least a week after your return to go sell your stuff. :shades:

this makes 3 of us.... Pretty much this. Yeah -- this sums it up for me, more or less. My not-so-cunning-plan at the moment consists of me pretty much being amongst the last 2000 or so real players left in game, when Jagex finally pulls the plug. That's making consideration for the fact that they'd no longer be making much from it, after the bots have driven all the real players away, and the en masse bots are no longer active. I'd like to think that, in its death throes, the game will kind return to the way it was when it was first released in terms of community and game play. When you could wander practically everywhere and it was a rare event to meet another player, and everyone was so kind and helpful and polite ... No, actually, they can't. Ya know, what I find ironic is that, when I pointed out this very same fact about the gear one obtains from playing Temple Trekking, last week, everyone bum-jumped me because I was an "efficiency troll" ...

Ok -- MAYBE I am a little jaded by the recent streak of "epic updates", but: A "Brand New City"? Somehow I doubt that this is going to be Prifddinas ... "... work with the Temple Knights to foil Lucien's evil plans ..." -- somehow I get the feeling that the epic battle against Lucien is somehow not going to be all that epic. Let me guess, we drop a pillar/column on his head, right? Right? "... new Slayer Dungeon ..." -- BOO YEAH - another place to fill with bots!!! <_< "...ever popular Hallowe’en and Thanksgiving holiday events ..." - Heh. Heh. Heh. *snort* Heh.

Jack Layton dies
Yeah, same. I expected him to announce at some point in the next month that he'd retire due to the cancer being terminal or else really bad, but I didn't expect this. No -- not within a month. Jack was such a fighter, even though he looked so frail, I had hopes that he'd somehow make it through ... 22 Minutes posted a tribute to Jack: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c9us099TL50 Rest in Peace Jack, we'll miss you.

Jack Layton dies
I had the great fortune to see Jack in person while he was on a local stop during the last election campaign. His personality was absolutely magnetic and I had never seen such a charismatic individual in my entire life. What was more, his good-natured character just radiated from out of him -- it was really something to see. On top of all that was his message - his earnest desire to improve the life of every Canadian - and you could tell that he really meant it. It wasn't just words, he really was the genuine article. I had high hopes for Jack and truly wish that this tragic loss would never happen, but when I saw him at that press conference, I had the bad feeling that, given his gaunt look, the sound of his voice -- his death was not very far away. I wish I had been wrong about that. We've lost one of the truly bright lights of our political system -- and Canada is a darker place without him ... Goodbye Jack, we shall miss you more than you will ever know.

Botting in Runescape
The worst of it is that, just prior to the rigged vote about bringing back the old revised wussified Wildy and Botscaping Free Trade, they said that we should not worry about "bots" because they had that covered.
-
Would you actually refer a friend to Runescape?
For the first time ever, in such a poll, I actually had to say "no", I wouldn't recommend Runescape to a friend ... <_<

D'ya ever get the feeling that maybe we're being trolled by some cleverer "evil" mind at Jagex, that's trying to make people stop playing the game?

23-Aug-2011 New Rewards for Minigames
Well – while I could wax poetic about the uselessness of (once again) offering "hybrid armour" that's only useful in PvP mini-games/activities I will simply ignore this aspect in favour of something far more important: *ahem* OMG!! NEW CLOTHES!!!!!!!! Hmmm -- no apparent improvements/benefits from Trouble Brewing ...

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
If you're getting every bit as hysterical as the misinformed people does that make you any better than the people you're upset with? I'm getting hysterical, or simply trying to inform and correct? It reads more likely that you're here to misdirect and obfuscate -- really. Nobody's said that anything about what Jiblix has done as "groundbreaking" or "illuminating" -- the point is that one of the "faithful" has taken a stance about botting -- made further commentary about it -- and, as a result, has been defrocked. Just because you've got personal issues with Jiblix, it doesn't mean his point wasn't well-made. It wasn't well made. If I wanted to see bots I could do it myself. There's nothing new, at all. And there's other people saying that he's after "Uncovering the truth" and Jagex have been trying to "Cover up" the bot problem. How [bleep]ing stupid can some people be, seriously? And then for the attitudes of people like you. Jiblix is nothing but an attention [bleep]. He did it until he became a Moderator, and obviously the attention he was receiving must have died down so he needed to relight that fire. As BioIce said: "For someone who loved and thrived in attention, becoming a "martyr" is hardly surprising. Nothing more enjoyable than to be talked about gaining even more fame and notoriety. You have to admit, he has put an uncomfortable focus on botting and whether Jagex deserves the Golden Joystick this time around while getting his kicks from the whole thing." This isn't a personal problem, this is actually knowing what's going on - knowing what you don't know, Blyaunte. I'm not mis-directing at all. People are taking this case as if he's a good guy and is suddenly being punished... When that couldn't be further from it. Tell me -- if the point wasn't well-made, then why demote him? Why not just ignore him and let it die away slowly?

Andrew sells Jagex.
To be honest -- this isn't as "unsettling" as one should think. In the days of old when Andrew used to wander through the games talking to players, one was always left with the impression that Andrew was more interested in "the work" and/or "the development" than "the ownership" of the game itself. Divesting himself of his ownership interest in Jagex merely releases him from the responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the "business", and allows him the freedom to dabble about with, say, the game itself, or any other project(s) that have his attention at any given moment. On the other hand, and I have mentioned this before -- I think there stands a good chance that the ownership group at Jagex may be considering selling off the Runescape "branch" of operations altogether. I've no solid evidence of this, per se -- but it's a feeling I get when I look at some of the recent developments that have happened in the game since they rigged held the vote on the return of the Wildy/Free Trade.

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
Isn't his point exactly the same as everybody elses though? we all know there are bots, we all know what they have done this year as a developer. Since they released free trade they're still playing catch up to the side effects. No actually his point is that, given the current (deplorable) state of the game and Jagex's unwillingness and/or inability to correct it they do not deserve to be supported by their community and given "awards" in particular the "People's Gaming Award" for "best game" or any other similar recognition.

Jiblix and Ken Genosis Demodded Over Speaking Out
I watched Jiblix's video last night it's an extremely well-made and effectively messaged piece and he has a point: Jagex doesn't deserve any awards this year.
