  3. I did not see where the mushroom was repeated. :/ I did add a space however. Credit is not givin for these types of corrections. ~~* HOW TO SUBMIT INFO - READ *~~ As it states, it wouldn't be fair. Use the sticky If you want credit make a list. DO NOT HARASS CREW Thank You
  4. My thoughts exactly... people tease to gain an advantage over you. If you enjoy it and are not ashamed then it will go away. Every person has different likes and when in school people for some reason think that everyone should be the same, screw them and be yourself. Wow is a great game for its own reasons. I had many friends that play wow and it is crazy how many similarities there are in the games. When a new game comes out, try it and have your own say at the game. I tried warhammer, wow, City of Villians and such and still enjoy RuneScape because of the basic gameplay. I like it for the simplicity when I need a simple game. Just because Rs does not allow you to build your own virtual/only girlfriend does not mean the graphics suck. ;)
  5. PLEASE USE THE APPROPRIATE STICKY! That is what is there for, stickies tbh get updated just as fast. It is all on the crewbies scheduals and will power!
  6. I don't think any of the past Editors revealed themselves... I know I have always wondered as well. :| Even as Crew I don't know lol! Could be I have only been on crew for since June tho.... :?
  7. How to Write for the Tip.It Times Also Letters to the Editor & Did You Know Facts The Tip.It Times is an ongoing article to article based editorial hosted by Tip.It and managed by the Editorial Staff. Are you interested in writing for the Times? Do you have a thought that you would like to share with The Editor? Where do I send a Did You Know fact to and what does it have to include? This topic covers the answers to the above questions! [hide=Submit a guest article to the Times!] Submit a guest article to the Times! If you are interested in writing for the times you have two options. You may submit an article as a guest, or if you want to join the team as a full time writer or editor, you may apply for a permanent position! To read about applying for a full time position, skip down to the next section. For information about guest articles, continue reading here. To submit a guest article, please PM it to tripsis. The Editorial Staff will then review your article and if it's something that our readers would like, well written and doesn't have too many spelling/grammar mistakes, we may use your article on the site. However, please note that this does not mean your submission WILL be published. We publish guest articles on a needs basis only, and even then, only the best are selected for publication. If you do plan on submitting an article, please follow these guidelines: Word count is flexible, but try to keep it 600+. There all kinds of online dictionaries on the web - use one. Please be careful of your spelling and grammar. If we have to spend 3 hours editing what you've written, that's almost a guarantee that we won't use your submission. No flaming or naming names, and no attacks on Jagex unless you have proof of what you're saying. Criticism is okay but flaming is not. While we do accept some fiction, try to keep it on topic. In other words, make sure it's RuneScape related. Try not to rehash the same old topics over and over again. Read through the Tip.It Times Archives to make sure we haven't already published a number of articles on the topic you're about to write about. Lastly, if you're not sure about your article's topic, or if you have a question, ASK first. Please note: we will not ask your permission to publish your article if and when we decide to do so. Submission of an article implies permission to publish. We may contact you to let you know if your article has been selected, but this is only as a courtesy and is not a request for permission. Therefore, before you submit an article, remember that thousands of people will read it. Make sure that you do, in fact, want your article published. Once your article has been published, it's too late to change your mind. If you DO change your mind after you submit an article, or you'd like to make some changes or update it, then you MUST contact tripsis as soon as possible. Tip.It assumes no responsibility for personal information you've included in the article that may be outdated or no longer valid. [/hide] [hide=Join the Editorial Panel full time!] Join the Editorial Panel full time! If you are interested in writing regularly for the Tip.It Times or serving as an editor, apply to join the Editorial Panel! About The Job This is a volunteer, non-paying job. Authors and editors are typically given an assignment once a month, for which they must meet their deadline. Editorial Panel members' work is published for hundreds of users to read, discuss and enjoy! Available Positions [hide=Positions] Author Tip.it Times authors are responsible for writing editorial and/or fictional articles related to the RuneScape game. The authors are placed on a monthly schedule for releasing articles. Editorial articles should be blog-like, controversial, original, interesting and thought provoking. They reflect your personal opinions (or what you notice that other peoples' opinions are) about RuneScape updates, features or general happenings. Fictional writers create stories that occur in a RuneScape setting. Stories should be engaging, exciting and related to the game. All authors must be able to accept constructive criticism from both their team members before the article is released and from the Tip.it community after the article is published. Word count for articles is flexible, but is expected to be a minimum of about 600 words. Editor Editors are very important parts of the Editorial Panel. They are responsible for reading, editing and commenting on articles before they are published. They review articles for accuracy, quality, spelling and grammatical errors. As such, they are required to have good writing skills and knowledge of grammatical rules. Editors are also encouraged to comment on and critique the content of the article and give suggestions where they see fit. They are also welcome to provide topic suggestions to authors. Editors may also write their own articles if they wish, but authors are given priority time slots. [/hide] How To Apply PM your application to tripsis - do not post it here! Put Editorial Panel Application as the subject. Take your time to make a good impression. Do not rush or put in half effort. Read and answer each question thoroughly and to the best of your ability. Even if your application is not chosen, we will keep it on record and contact you at a later date if need be. Application ** NOTE: You are required to submit a piece of writing with your application. 8. It is Mini Game. It is a very time consuming request. If you find individual occurrences then feel free to post an exact list on the appropriate sticky.
  9. :| That 1337 one must be cowman_133 and you edited in your name.... :shame:
  10. It seems the Times is very mysterious on how it works to many. :-# I just want to cover some things more as an FYI to those making suggestions.  The Tip.It Times is produced by the Editorial Staff. Only one crew member, is assigned to the Times as it needs to be added to the website and such. An admin or 2 usually are part of the Administration of and are active in discussion. A schedule is made every few months assigning weeks to different writers leaving a few slots open for guest submissions. So if you submit a article bear in mind, we are scheduled 2 months in advance unless a writer is unable to write his submission due to sickness ect. After the article is written it is then reviewed by members of the editorial panel, who look for spelling errors and such. Once this process it is coded into html and a forum and website announcement is prepared and released shortly thereafter. It is a multiple step process that takes a lot of time on everyone's part. When a guest article is received it is then reviewed and decided if it can be backed by Tip.It. If so, it is approved and then put on the To be Scheduled list. Guest articles are greatly appreciated as it does give a new view to the Times, something that can be hard with a smaller staff. So please feel free to submit them. There have been a few suggestions thus far on this thread that are awesome and can be expected in the near future.  Keep up the good work! ~N_odie
  11. Sorry, I wasn't trying to be mean or anything... It was just a small joke because it seems like it takes a really long time for admins to reply in this forum, and I didn't want to problems to be ignored. Good to finally know that you're at least aware of the problems now. Crew handle site matters tbh. Admins are occasionally called for administrative decisions. ;) Errdoth is really the only one Crew that is working on the Microhelper as it is his baby. :P If you feel a topic has been missed feel free to give a friendly "Bump," a crew member will lock the thread if it is not needed or corrected. We are humans to and miss things. :o N_odie
  12. Pictures are easy to add, it is finding an appropriate one to the article that is difficult... that will be a cool thing to make an effort on my part! :P
  13. Staff is currently voting... prob announce winners Wed to Fri. :D
  14. That is always a hard thing for an author to find. Do you have a suggestion, such as allowing people to submit ideas for articles to The Editor? I enjoyed those particularly myself! I think the problem is getting in contact with some that the entire community would enjoy. If you are in contact with someone that you may think the community would be interested in (or are the person) feel free to PM me as that would be a blast. Once we are in contact with the player WE will extend the invitation.
  15. This week's poll asks: How often do you read the Tip.It Times? [*:valupia4] Every Issue! (100%) [*:valupia4] Often (75%) [*:valupia4] About Half (50%) [*:valupia4] Rarely (25%) [*:valupia4] Never (0%) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Special Discussion: As of late there has been some who have thought that the Tip.It Times has lost its touch. In my opinion that is bluntly rude only to reply such feelings on a thread when a lot of work goes behind every issue. This has even gone to the point of author bashing! Everyone has an opinion however, that is why this weeks poll asks how often you read the Tip.It Times? If you feel the Times has lost its touch (or if you love it), I ask everyone what suggestions you have for improvement? Do you have an idea for a feature, similar to the Letter to The Editor? Would you like to see a times cover a special topic? What do you think can help? Constructive criticism if needed can be Pm'ed to me. ;) The Editorial Staff works hard to release the Times. The past few article where designed and written to be controversial. As of late, some have had the most discussion then the Times have had for some time. We have many Guest articles in the near future that are to be published that will add a new view point to the Times. Overall, the Editorial staff has some great articles coming up for everyone to look forward to! Also bear in mind, just because something is suggested, doesn't mean it is going to happen. Every suggestion will be considered however so feel free to post them. =D> - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - >>> Vote Now! <> View the Results <<< Still see the old poll? 16. =D> Sorry for my lack of discussion when this thread has so much value. Fantastic research and put in a very easy to understand format!  Off Topic: For some reason Dragonforce was playing in the back of my head while reading this thread... that song is freakin impossible on guitar hero...
  17. Die is singular for dice. ;) http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/die I did a minor change to the notes for clarification. ;)
  18. Another Tip.It Times for you! This week's article, Completing the Triangle by Ts_Stormrage, covers the skill Magic. Do you use it for skills or combat? Be sure to read the article for a balanced view of the skill. >>>Completing the Triangle<<< ~odie
  19. Tbh, call me a nerd but if people did that for Rs, it would be the number 1 online game.  Have fun with what you do! And make sure to look good while you are at it!
  20. A double edge sword my friend. ;) It would be a constant battle between people "thinking" that they should be added. I disagree with Jem about the Mods being honored members group. They are fantastic but there are many who turn down the invitation. I think this is another, "I honor and respect users that deserve it because they have earned it in my eyes." No badge needs come with this. Mods, Admins, Crew, Tet, Editorial staff all have the Tip.It logo because of the position and the work that comes with it. It is really needed for what we do. There are many users around the forum I respect and honor, but what says my reasons are the same from every other person on the boards. If someone deserves it, they already have it from the people that matter. This is just my opinion and in no way that of staff. Odie edit: I re-read my post and want to make sure you know I am not dissin on you guys and gals.... I <3 you all!
  21. The Crew member (crew handles anything having to do with site and not forum) who takes care of a submission for the most part will not put there name in at that time. If we do a major edit requiring a substantial amount of time then it would be appropriate. One thing you may notice is the amount of crew names at the bottom of the page, this is because of the amount of research and testing that goes into every guide. Another thing that happens quite often is when a new update comes a crewbie goes and takes a look at what needs to be changed, then edits the guide and comes onto the forum and look, a submission. At that point there is dilemma of, should I add as I already did the correction and didn't use this post.... most of the time we go ahead because we want to encourage users to use the forum and submit things we miss, thousands of eyes are better than the 2 that the few crewbies have. So thanks! I changed the quest to members only, and credited. Hope that made sense, Odie
  22. Contest Closed! ;) What a great turnout and I really enjoyed many of these outfits! Cowman and I will announce the winners as soon as possible! Feel free to discuss your thoughts on the entries! =D>
  23. Fixed and thank you! 8-)
