  1. For runes, I grab 100 ess and make 65 laws, 30(x2) cosmics, and 5(x2) astrals. If I end up with less ess I make even cosmics/laws and cut out the astrals until I get some more cash.
  2. Oh wow. I wish I had that little doorlag- no wonder my floor times are so high. I spend easily 2.5x as long as him just waiting for doorlag to end. -.- That said, the guy needs to speed up the start of his floor by grabbing money first (the team should be told to leave arrows right away), then one food, then prepping. He also has all kinds of little gatestone management issues, and spent a little too long running around aimlessly, especially when reborns were messing with him- there was one point where he didn't need to go through any GDs but still let the reborns make him delay for like 15 seconds. Could have been a lot more proactive with the statue room too. It felt like he was with the team doing gds WAY too much, but I think that might have just been the map. Speaking of the map, he didn't look at his map nearly enough to know what was going on, particularly with choosing which GD to go to first- I'm pretty sure he had the team do guaranteed denk GDs before branching GDs a few times. With as few doors to gate out at one time as there seemed to be, he ought to have had somebody gate home so he wouldn't have had to home teleport 50 times, especially after the boss ended up there. Crazy lucky as far as no really slow rooms, so even with all the derp he managed a good time. I know you said not to rant about the binds, but even if you go full platebeard, you REALLY should be binding a chainskirt instead of platelegs. Plate gives so much slash and stab defense that piling more on with legs is worthless, but a plateskirt rounds it out by giving a ton of crush def. That said, did it really look like he needed the defense? I only saw him taking damage at all once, and that was from a shade. Meanwhile he was sure to have 50 salves on him at all times. I'd do plate and primal gaunts if I were him.
  3. Idk how the other keyers do it, but if you have skype and respond first when I advertise a floor, you're in. If you seem brand new and don't have a rank I might check if you've read the guidelines, but beyond that I'll take whomever.
  4. Why not sit tight and wait before making any premature claims to guilt? Notice that a significant amount of evidence has been provided to show the scripts are perfectly legal, including the fact that no one using the scripts in the ways prescribed thus far has been banned or in any other way punished or warned by Jagex. The only evidence at all to suggest that these scripts are not permissible is the obscure interpretation of the 1:1 rule set forth by Jagex. So again, why is it suddenly guilty until proven innocent? As much as I hate the stance TIF has taken towards AHK, you can't use the rationale that "Jagex hasn't taken action," since there doesn't seem to be much they DO take action for anymore (other than small offenses like offensive language reports, which are handled by automated software anyway). They still ban SOME bots. I think it's very, very telling that we've never seen anyone have action taken against their account for using Wicked's scripts- it's not like this is a brand new thing. I'll be more inclined to see TIF's stance as non-stupid when we have one person get any action taken by Jagex for using anything posted on TEF. Until then, they're just looking for excuses to needle us as far as I'm concerned.
  5. Make them. I didn't make very many because I, like you, didn't see myself needing many. Then I started nexing, where you use 8 a trip. Oops! Some day you will want a lot of spec restores. Don't screw yourself over by thinking you won't.
  6. DGSers with skype are pretty universally great dungeoneers, so if you get skype and join skype teams you're basically guaranteed great floors.
  7. If specializing in magic is something you think you'd like to do, ccs and prom 2h would not be a bad choice. We need more staff binders, they help a lot. However, you're right in thinking that ccs and 2h are not an ideal pairing. A prom rapier could also work well and would definitely be easier to manage. I wouldn't consider prom gaunts without a battleaxe, though. I'd say prom rapier and ccs would be about equally helpful, though obviously situational. It's up to you. Keep in mind that the staff would take a LOT more effort between rune collection and the longer switch time. You'd definitely be keeping the staff and surgebox on by default and only switching to 2h when there's nothing to mage.
  8. Quyneax has already posted there saying that topic posts were not removed because neither side provided concrete proof that their claim was right. It was just assumed that everyone knew why one side was right. This is an issue we're looking into and (I believe this was suggested in the topic) the moderating team is currently considering the idea of having an organized fact sticky in that forum so that a fact can be stated and then a link to the sticky could be provided for evidence. This is why it's so important to have mods who understand the game moderating the forum. We should not have to waste time proving that a rapier has better DPS than magic on a stab weak dragon- it's common sense. The burden of proof needs to be on the claim that is patently ridiculous. The funny part is that Quyneax KNOWS that the magic idea was crap and still decided to play dumb and require evidence. Mods shouldn't be playing dumb on the metagame forum of all places. As it is now it's help and advice 2.0, and I have 0 motivation to post there. It's a cesspool.
  9. Your weapon bind is fairly limiting, so it's to be expected that some people wouldn't take you. There's even a disclaimer in the bind guidelines that says a keyer can not take you if they don't approve of your binds.
  10. Oh sorry, forgot about the primal part. With a CCS, you definitely want to pair with a battleaxe. There are very few monsters not weak to either magic or low enough defense to make a battleaxe better, and a blood necklace makes a battleaxe even higher raw DPS than usual. You spend most of the time with CCS maging anyway, and just switch to melee to clean up the leftover zombies/skeles.
  11. Any offense boosting gear like neck or gaunts favors the faster weapon, which means baxe gets even better in comparison.
  12. A lot of you have probably had a prom 2h suggested to you as a weapon bind over the last couple months. What you may not know is that this entire time we've had information suggesting that a primal battleaxe is pretty much always better in all ways. 2h is, as it turns out, a pretty bad weapon. However, Grimy has been demanding that the ranks hush this up and keep on telling people to use a prom 2h. His reasoning is that the members of DGS need more apm (actions per minute) training. Rather than simply asking people to practice their apm, he devised the idea that members can practice their apm by being required to equip the surgebox as well as quickswitch the ring AND autocast the spell AND put on a staff, every time they want to mage something. To say nothing of how much that discourages the use of magic among 2h users, it also wastes a lot of time between the poor performance in melee combat and the long switch time for magic. Now, I'm the last person to discourage high apm. Definitely practice flashing turmoil, getting ring and style switches down, doing lossless skilling like fletching traps or making armor during combat, or growing herbs during GDs, and whatever else you can to maximize effectiveness. I'm just not sure that having misleading weapon guidelines is the best way to go about getting the most out of every dungeoneer. I don't like lying to people, so I'm likely giving up my DGS rank to make this public. Battleaxe IS a better bind. If you want to practice your actions per minute, use a prom 2h. If you want to perform better in dungeons, bind a primal battleaxe. If you're 113 DG, obviously bind a primal 2h.
  13. Still not sure how complimenting a mod on their post deletion prowess is derogatory, unless that mod feels that they've been deleting too many posts and is sensitive about it.
  14. This isn't really true anymore- recent research on the defense level of a lot of monsters is making the baxe look better a lot of the time, especially with binds like blood neck or primal gaunts. Still good to have both on a team, though- the 2hs just have to be careful about attacking tank monsters first while the baxes clean up zombies, skeletons, shades, ankou, pickaxes, etc. Until we say other wise, its 2H > Baxe. Hiding dem facts. You should apply for TIF mod.

  16. Tripsis, you do know that we are a forum and not a fansite. ...Right? Right?
  17. Very curious what forum of communication is faster than email and can't be copy/pasted. Was it a phone call?
  18. "We don't really care/need to know what kind of input device you use. Could be a traditional mouse, a trackball, a touchpad, a graphics tablet, a touch screen... or your computer keyboard with MouseKeys enabled. The key thing is that every time you want the on-screen pointer to move somewhere, you must make a movement on/with your input device that exactly corresponds with the on-screen movement. And every time you want to click on something on-screen, you must carry out a click using your device." This is a real quote about what the policy really is. Autohotkeys can be used as a keyboard remapper WITHOUT macros, which would make it entirely, 100% legal according to a mod actually thinking about the issue and not giving a copypaste response. Input device is irrelevant, and only amount of actions per action is important. This is very, VERY clearly stated in the official statement from Mark L, who actually has the authority to speak on macro policy. Why would you think that giving us a canned response from a community manager would override that? Because you aren't involved in the game enough to understand what is happening.
  19. I don't see how someone working in community management who has trouble organizing q&a's in game is able to answer a question on such a debated issue. Yes, I'm not going to take the answer from timbo the same as I don't ask my butcher how to fix my toilet. A better analogy would be asking a janitor in the white house about US foreign policy. Timbo has nothing to do with anything.
  20. So you're basing your stance on a quote from Mod Timbo, a community mod, over the contradicting word of Mark L, who ACTUALLY DEALS WITH MACROS. This is where our problems with Tip.it come from. You guys have no ability to think critically or understand the game we all play, and end up making incredibly stupid decisions as a result.
  21. Except that TIF's understanding of Jagex's macro policy is completely incorrect. It doesn't help that they then invent communication with Jagex that can't be produced to create the illusion that they are in any way in touch with reality.
  22. They're already gone. I can't make the forums public, but our admins have good (spammer-related) reasons for keeping them private. You're welcome to make an account and join in the discussion if you'd like to see the board. Spammer related reasons? What are those exactly? ...People spamming the forums, obviously. I'm not a mod so I don't know the specifics. I'm pretty sure having our forum private doesn't violate any TIF rules as far as links go, so I'm not sure why you're suddenly trying to tell us how to run the forum. Are you too lazy to sign up an account or what?

  24. I'd appreciate it if you didn't post provocations. It's a simple matter of copying and pasting Jagex's response to Darkdude's inquiry. Or perhaps I genuinely believe that? I'd also appreciate if we weren't accused of bias towards you guys, since, you know, we've been removing links to botting stuff for several years, but tough luck it seems. One post on the forum with a bot that hadn't been deleted yet when some TIF mod found it GRIMY'S FORUMS ARE BOTTING STUFF Yeah. Having illegal scripts present on a forum does to me sound as if it encourages macroing. Not saying it is supported, but it is present and does not help the situation. We are by no means going to tell people how to run their own forums, only that if certain things are present, we will not have them linked to from here as they clash with our rules. I've seen people advertising gold selling and RS3 BETA on TIF. Does that mean TIF supports RWT and phishing scams?
  25. Because we are forcing you to reply to every post, right? I'm not sure how long a copy/paste takes, but it's not like I'd be able to do anything if it took you guys 5 hours to do it.
