  1. Another question- this is just for the floors we key, right?
  2. https://spreadsheets.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=t49RFgWHkV6pwsHOqOYrTxQ#gid=0 No ampersand. WAT DO
  3. So you're saying you want us to spend 15 minutes doing math about common sense to conclusively disprove trolls before we can begin to hope their posts will be deleted, but if we call them out for being obvious trolls before throwing some numbers together with guessed accuracy, OUR posts will be deleted instead? FUN. I think I'll be staying out of this forum, thanks- my interest is not in using my time re-proving facts over and over again.
  4. Wow. DERP MY FREND SED DGS WUZ BEING ELITIST IM GONA FLAM THERE THRED NOW
  5. getting i can has heim crab shouldnt waste any time at all when i did it i didn't skip anything but half of the boss due to greens permission i also cooked heim crabs for myself in downtime and it was still a ~30 min fl so i don't see how i'm an idiot, it was rather fun Because people doing it tend to be shy with GDs and difficult rooms, letting other members tank the monsters instead of attacking stuff as quickly as possible (which is what everyone SHOULD do-- waiting for someone else to attack something before you do it really detracts from overall DPS). It's the same reason keyers rage at people who refuse to enter GDs because they are out of prayer, only it lasts the whole dungeon. I agree that trying to get I can has heim crab when your team isn't in on it is not the best idea, but we kind of asked for it in Bro Pal's case. He brb'd at the start of a floor, so we left him no food except a pile of heim crabs dropped around his character :P. He was also surprisingly good at not wasting time doing it.
  6. Let people know you're a new keyer beforehand. I did a 55 minute with a certain clan member who tried to learn keying, and it didn't matter because I knew he was new. It's good to see new people step up and start learning to key, regardless of how much they suck at first. You'll get better quickly anyway.
  7. 3x  toad haxed something. inb4noonebelievesmikekeyedthat He didn't, did he??
  8. Yes All_Is_Great, that's what I did with my surge and it worked fine.
  9. I've seen LOTS of eddimus, couldn't begin to put a number on it, but only 3 blood necks in 31m DG experience. They're definitely not a drop to count on, and anyone going for 100 should definitely have a backup bind to get immediately and learn to use as they wait for a blood neck drop. The bind that transitions most smoothly into blood neck is primal gauntlets- their 12 strength bonus makes a primal battleaxe something like .04% less raw DPS than a primal rapier, and with more accuracy (no stab though).
  10. Well, yeah. But you get my point  Obviously you gate home until you need to gate something else, but generally it doesn't take that long for everyone to be able to gate something useful. I disagree with this; it can take a while for there to be enough different areas for everyone to have a door gate. Sometimes the floor opens up really quickly, but usually it's just a couple different directions for the first 5 minutes or so, which is 2 gates.
  11. Cele cat is definitely a good third bind, but it takes a lot of work. You HAVE to be good about making yourself fire runes, as cele cat with air surge is worse in every way than empowered fire with fire surge. It's not too hard though, just takes attention. As an aside, you should never, ever use ranged if you have a surgebox bound- ranged is 100% useless in dungeoneering without a hex. I don't even have a ranged ring leveled. The only place where ranged is acceptable is necrolord, and fire surge is just as good if not better.
  12. Battleaxes go for low defense and crush weak first- it has significantly better raw DPS (raw DPS is the damage per second of a weapon assuming it never hits a 0, taking accuracy out of the equation) in exchange for accuracy, and stays better than 2h at crush longer than it does in slash as far as enemy defense rising. Shades, skeletons, zombies, spiders, jellies, and low level dogs are all major battleaxe territory and should generally be targeted first by battleaxe users. 2hs by contrast would be focusing on rangers, mages (in absence of hexes), bats, and other high level tank monsters (most of these would be surged, so if there's a surge they should still get off and do something else). A third bind like blood necklace or primal gauntlets favors battleaxe, while a hex or rapier favors 2h. Cele cat can go either way. Note that this is all assuming prom 2h- the primal scimitar fares better in comparison, but is still a little bit inferior on low defense monsters like zombies and shades.
  13. If you don't have 88 in the easiest skill in the game, you should sit down and spend the 5 minutes to do it :P
  14. If you don't have 99 mage/range/attack, blood necklace just gets sweeter. Since it has no wield requirements but has consistent stats regardless of your level, it will have a greater effect relative to whatever weapon you're using. +11 str does less for a prom 2h than for a gorg 2h. Is it only the crafting of fire rune thats an issue? Otherwise couldn't they log out and in between gds or does that waste too much time collecting your gear? It's also just that there's only so much maging to be done. One cat staff with fire surge will absolutely shred primal warriors, ghosts, and demons- almost always before the rest of the room is cleared. It's slightly helpful to have two people making that go even faster, but really there's pretty strongly diminishing returns having 2+ cat staves, especially if you considered that all but one could have instead chosen to have a rapier so they can wreck the shades, zombies, hellhounds, etc. And of course blood necks would be superior past 1 staff, but it's hard to call that a choice unless someone consciously bound cat staff over neck. All of that in addition to the crafting problem Obt pointed out; cat staves pick up ess drops and craft it on the fly generally, and 2 staves means half as much ess per person, which likely means more time home teleporting for ess and/or air surging rather than fire surging for both of them. It's this problem that pushes staff into being even more susceptible to the too many per team problem than hexes. The ideal team would probably be something like 2 hexes with 2h, 1 cat staff with 2h/baxe, 1 blood neck with baxe, and 1 wild card (keyer doesn't do a lot of fighting)- no rapiers mentioned because they do about the same thing as a hex on non mages and a bit better than a neck with baxe on low defense anyway, so they'd be doing some niche encroaching there.
  15. That description goes with A for effort, no way to tell what the title it's hiding is.
  16. Here's what you need to do. You know that disk that came with your laptop that had the Windows logo on it and was probably labeled something to the effect of KEEP THIS OR ELSE YOU'RE A GIGANTIC MORON? You kept it, right? You need to back up anything important on your computer, and then use that disk to format your hard drive and reinstall Windows (Google this, it's not hard). Then, you need to not wander around the Internet downloading whatever strikes your fancy so that your computer doesn't get bogged down by a mountain of spyware again, because that is almost definitely why a computer with specs like that can't run RS. Formatting it will take all the crap off easily and it should start running as smoothly as the day you bought it- if not, you do have a legitimate hardware problem and should probably see if it's still under warranty. If you didn't keep that disk, you need to contact Microsoft and see what you need to do to get them to send you a new one. Good luck! It is actual genuine hardware :3 I've formatted it before and installed windows 7 with no effect, sent it off to the TechGuys and they sorted it, 3 months later and I formatted it again due to same problem. Again restoring it doesn't work and so I've left it this time. CBA sending it off to have it break 3 months later... I use Spybot etc and regularly clean my comp anyways. Basically my processors are broken. :/ and it overheats too much even when all fans are clear. In that case, get into your BIOS and make sure that none of your fans are disabled or underpowered, and that your processors aren't underclocking themselves. Also get yourself one of those laptop fans that the laptop sits on top of. If you aren't confident messing with your BIOS, you might want to find somebody who is.

  18. I key with a blood necklace and still only very rarely die when I wouldn't have died anyway (if a room has a t11 mage, t11 ranger, some books, a brute, a pickaxe, a shade... what's your plate gonna do, seriously? Also, when I run out of prayer and there's no altar close to completion, I'm dying regardless of binds). It's a matter of being smart with your prayer, having a team that gives up food when you need it, and being good at safespotting monsters. A plate is like training wheels- a lot of what it does is just making up for mistakes. A good player doesn't need it.
  19. ^This. I can't imagine a single place you'd be enjoying your CLS and wouldn't want a maul instead, unless you have a divine and exclusively solo Sara with melee and the KQ.
  20. I've had the odd good team, but for the most part all the 3boers I've been with have been major derps. Usually it's just grabbing one or two 3boers when we can't find anyone else from DGS, and it's incredibly rare for the randoms to not completely lag behind and make a lot of mistakes. I haven't been on a team with more than 2 randoms in ages because that pretty much invariably ends in disaster (35+ minute floor and a headache) in my experience.
  21. I don't see anything on there about whether efficiency includes being efficient with RL time.
  22. Source? Or are you making up your own rules? I prefer to take everything into account when I decide what the most effective method to attain a goal, because otherwise I spend less time online and get less done overall. By any meaningful definition of efficiency, the way that gets the most done is the most efficient. Your method is obviously also efficient, depending on the surrounding circumstances. That doesn't mean you get to dismiss every other method.
  23. AFKability is a big part of efficiency. Say I have a choice between writing an essay without playing RS and writing an essay and doing something on RS at the same time- which is more efficient?
