  2. How about remove penalties and bonuses and all that [cabbage] and just make it a set exp per minute spent in the floor. Like conquest :D
  3. Oh [cabbage] are those kata boots??
  4. @ effigy: See above. Also, you're the first person I've ever seen fail the trivia test, and I've seen several succeed. I think it's fine.
  5. OR how about people read the guidelines carefully enough to see the part that says you will be quizzed? It's not necessarily in our interest to make it easier to pass the extremely simple test of reading an entire post- if an applicant's attention span is too short for that task, we have reason to be extremely dubious of their ability to learn to dungeoneer. We aren't looking to accept every idiot into the chat- we need thick skinned players who want to always be improving at dungeoneering by way of listening to what people tell them. If the first thing they're told is read the guidelines and they FAIL... that's not a good sign. This kind of filtering has become much more important since we show up near the top of the clan high scores, so if we don't want to start imposing dungeoneering level limits, we NEED a quick way to weed out the idiots, and this is it. I'm sorry that your friend was hit by our filter, but the solution to that is to improve your friend rather than relax our filters.
  6. I tested this last time I got Geo in C2s- he DOES heal if you use any overhead prayers, including soul split. He does NOT heal if you use turmoil or other boost prayers. However, he DOES disable boost prayers and the like if you're using them when he does his special, so you have to wait a bit to turn them back on. Totally worth it to turm that boss.
  7. CCS and primal gaunts are both very good for different reasons. It's great for a team to have one CCS, annoying to have two, so we definitely don't want too many people to have a CCS in DGS. Primal gaunts and blood necks, by contrast, are ALWAYS a good thing to have. Since CCS is also a difficult bind to use, I'd say take that if you're willing to power up blazer and blitzer rings to 10 and learn to really use it well, crafting fire runes and maging all the right stuff. If you're going to be kind of lazy about your staff, you'd be better off using primal gaunts. CCS is a bind that needs a pro to use it well, gaunts not so much. I'd take a blood neck over either, and a hex over all three.
  8. I don't quite agree with this. Prayer flashing is involved in proper room clearing strategy with melee, period- a 2h is not an excuse to slack off. Battleaxe does benefit slightly more from prayer boosts than 2h, being a faster weapon, but if you're too lazy to pray flash with either you're still looking at superior raw DPS from the battleaxe. If you're room clearing properly (sticking on shades/zombies/skeles for the most part), you'll still see the battleaxe shine over a 2h regardless. I'm not sure how primal battleaxe is harder to use, either. Both weapons just involve memorizing a monster order and sticking to it. I guess battleaxe has a little less breathing times between attacks? Great guide, anyway! Glad to see this finally make it out of its top sekrit location. Hope we'll start seeing some people using their third binds more effectively/getting better third binds.
  9. Just did a 28 minute floor with one guy DCed for most of the floor. Couldn't do mimes for a long time and lost his gate. Also, Bulwark was boss. I'm sick of my average being raped by [cabbage].
  10. Is there some other reason to ask a female authority figure to dominate you in against-the-rules ways?
  11. Is this some kind of bizarre internet fetish? "OH YEAH BABY, HIJACK MY BLOG. ABUSE THAT MOD POWER."
  12. Rule #1b - If you get grabbed twice in a kill, get out and solve the problem before next time. Or if you're lagging too badly to run properly. There are definitely situations in which I would say gtfo of Thundy.
  13. It's not a badge, it's for our floor time logs.
  14. I would definitely say jimi takes the blame/honor. It's more correct to just give it to the starting keyer in basically all situations. A notes field should be there to note that you took over keying. ^^ starting keyer Damnit, I gave my keying turn to Jimi for no reason -.- Usually I'd say it was clear cut starting keyer too, but the boss was REALLY early that floor. He only opened up like a third of the dungeon or so, so neither of us were sure what to do. Thanks for clearing that up.
  15. Hey Grimy: So last night Jimi started keying a floor, and we found Necro very early. He soloed and I took over keying for the latter half of the floor. Who gets the floor on their log? Both of us? Neither of us? Or, Balthamel's idea, which I like best: we each get a 13 minute floor on our log, since we each keyed half of a 26 :D
  16. Cool copyright infringement bro
  17. Lol, this is a hilarious mix of very good keying, an insanely good team, and... a keyer who DOES NOT KNOW HOW TO SWITCH PRAYERS. He did manage to die near losslessly, so I guess it doesn't matter, but still- how many times is this guy going to pray ranged on a pickaxe? Also -16% level mod and fl 15 say hi :P. Were there ANY puzzle rooms that floor?
  18. If you lose money flipping small items with the 4 hour limit gone, you are doing something spectacularly wrong. It isn't possible to lose money on that anymore without actually sitting there and putting in a buy price higher than your sell price.
  19. If you get bogged down by a couple of slower floors then try to start the next few with 2 very good wingmen to ensure a good time. While keying for newbs can be considered admirable, if a good keyer starts getting really slow floors, it's down to the team entirely. As much as I'd love to blame the team, the only REAL things they did "wrong" was that one guy kept DCing and losing his gate (happened once per floor), and not binding a hex/surge ([bleep]in' necro adds 2-3 minutes by himself if you don't have a hex on the team, especially with 2 non-surges -.-). I guess things also could have been better if they had been more on top of making fire staves and strong melees. They might not have been the most fantastic DPS, but really it was down to straight up troll floors as far as why they were both over 30.
  20. Ugh. My first two floors after starting my floor time log were utter [cabbage]- the first was a full map with GDs and pot doors everywhere and Necro boss with no hexes- 35:15, confident I couldn't have gotten it below 30 with perfect keying. The second floor there was just nothing to key, as we were one wayed at GDs pretty much the whole time. 30:15, Could only have been better with a team that was faster at doing GDs. Two of my worst floors in weeks entirely through bad floor luck -.-
  21. Counting on having a wingman who makes you fires doesn't seem like a good model to me. Sure, you might have it sometimes, but that's not going to be an every floor thing, and when you don't you're going to suffer for it. I'm not sure where your logic that keyers can't melee is coming from. It's not very uncommon to hit a GD with one forgotten ranger or zombie or ranging skeleton in it and just take it out myself, and I'm definitely not going to be maging that. The last monsters left in a GD are also usually zombies and skeletons due to the whole hood thing, and those are by far best taken care of with a battleaxe and blood necklace. The healing effect of the necklace is non trivial as well. As for ending every GD maging from the door, that's usually not feasible for one reason or another, and is an extremely trivial benefit compared to running away from the last monster a couple hits before it dies and opening the door as the team finishes it off. This is not to say a keyer can't be effective with a cele cat, but I'd definitely strongly consider an empowered fire staff over it, and I think a blood neck is overall a superior bind. 10% extra Melee DPS and a passive healing effect is useful all the time.
  22. Cele cat would not be good for a keyer, because it requires you to hunt out fire runes, which the keyer shouldn't have time for. Primal gauntlets would be good though, if you want to no armor it up. I key with a blood necklace and like it a lot.
