The Emperor's New Groove and Perfect Storm (what a waste of time watching a movie for 2 hours, then everyone dies, and there is no hero, everyone loses, and I'm sitting there like.. wdf)
  3. I believe in a higher being.. I am a Catholic, don't really practise it much, but I believe nevertheless. I believe in evolution. I make sense of suffering and death by believing in life after death. I make sense of creation by thinking.. who the hell started the big bang? There was no time or space, there was no dimension, so how can this just randomly happen? It happened nowhere as there was no "space" or "room" so to speak. Unless this universe is a universe inside a bigger "universe" or whatever you want to call it outside of this dimension, then a greater being (God) must have created the big bang. Things like that don't just happen.

It should be allowed, the umbilical cord does not have a brain and a heart, it does not grow once it is cut off, and stem cells from them should be used. But from the embryo.. who knows, depends what sort of a stance you're on in the abortion debate. This is just a religious debaco
  15. Classic rock.. AC/DC, Aerosmith, Guns n Roses, KISS, Rolling Stones etc I'm not really into the new rock.. some of it is alright, but I can never get enough of the old school rock, even though Guns n Roses are relatively young compared to acadaca and Rolling Stones, they're music reminded me so much of the type of rock that was played in the 70's :D
  16. This is all hyped up media bull. Ever since Pope Pius XII letter "Encyclican Humanis: Generis" in 1950, the Catholic Church had already basically accepted Darwin's theory of evolution. His letter stated that evolution is a more likely creation process than the world being made in 7 days, but insisted on the instant creation of the human soul (the intangible, conscious dimenson of a person existing beyond time and space) by God. But he also said that Darwin's theory was plausible and had too many holes in it. Don't you dare call me a liar  I've been studying Darwinism and Catholicism for the whole year and I know all about it. If you want to know more, read Pierre Teilhard De Chardin's book called "Synthesis of Christianity and Evolution", where Chardin makes clear connections and links between the Catholic Church's metaphoric telling of the creation process in the bible, and Darwin's theory of evolution.
  17. Haha yes, did you see John Howards speech on "my plan was a success"? It only fires the fuel, bragging about these new raids will not do him any good. And Arctic: we've been directly targeted by 2 suicide bomb attacks in the last 3 years, the most recent one a little over a month ago, it isn't publicised overseas because quite frankly, no one gives a damn about australia or nz. Btw: Over 100 australians have died from suicide bombs. And yes, we responded by boycotting tourism in the areas where the terrorism was being funded. We sure did say "damn those terrorists", but Howard takes it too far when he brags about how good these new anti-terrorism laws are and how they're saving us from terrorists, but this unnecessary media coverage on the government is only fueling the fire.
  18. It isn't a rant. It's a statement that Australia has gone from the hard working labour country to.. well, the proverbial "betch" of the USA controlled by the police and spy authorities.
  19. 1. Stop turning Australia into a police state 2. Stop publicising proudly how the raids have been "successful", it only makes them angrier.
  20. Looks like the government have taken advantage of the rushed legislation for the new anti-terror laws (australia is turning into a police state :? or the USA?) 23 homes in Sydney and Melbourne were raided... and guess what areas were targeted? Fawkner, Coburg, Meadow Heights, Broadmeadows, Dallas, Jacana, Brunswick etc.. Anyone from western suburbs Melbourne know that they are predominantly muslim areas.. now the government says that they aren't discriminating against islam, and I don't believe the government are discriminating against them either, it is strictly to prevent terrorism. They found chemicals and weapon parts etc, and also chemical orders in most of the houses raided. My concern: I live in the western suburbs area, and them areas are predominantly full of Turkish people and Lebanese (mostly of islam). When September 11 happened, they brought american flags to school and burned them, and the school was seperated in half (one half islam, other half the rest). Already they have lashed out, two cameramen were bashed and a voice recorder guy was bashed also outside the magistrates court. Though the Government say that they've stopped a potential chaotic terrorist attack, they have started something much worse, a backlash from the islam public in the north western suburbs of Melbourne and Sydney. And yes, people will get hurt, and terrorists won't stop.
  21. I share your pain :( But I was comforted as I thought, "whatever, I might as well go and blow all my money at duel arena" then I won 80 glories and 2 whips and about 2m gp. I say, I'm glad I lost them :P
  22. Hey man, get me some guthans too, I lost about 13m today  Darn kalphite guardians!! rofl
  23. YOU ARE UNAUSTRALIAN!!! How dare you call Australia a nation of cowards!!! Did you think about the men who are in the army for Australia? Do you dare call them cowards? The men that protect out shores? You are an idiot!!! No, he's not an idiot. You're the idiot here. My Grandfather served from 1938 to 1958 with the Australian Navy. His ship HMAS Yarra was sunk in WWII by the Japanese and he had to survive on a raft for 5 days with no food or water. Now explain this Mr. Expert-Patriotic-Australian. My grandfather would be rolling in his grave if he knew what Howard was doing. In other words, my grandfather would have shared the same views. What Howard is doing is cowardly. The last thing the old diggers would want is for Australia to turn into the USA (a police state run by unclassified fascists). He saw our land as a land of opportunity and freedom, not a land where police can run wild and shoot who they 'think' is a terrorist, or hold someone for no reason without a warrant. My grandfather was a proud aussie, he protected our shores, and I'll be damned if he was a coward.
