  1. Here's a little economics lesson for you... cause it's clear you really need one. MV=PY M=amount of currency V=velocity of said currency (how quickly it's traded) P=the price level (% increases in price = % of inflation) Y=output in the economy (we can ignore this) What increases inflation is the increase in the amount of gp into the game (which just happened -- billions and billions of gp being inserted into the game in one day), and the velocity traded of that money, which can be judged to be pretty high because of the surge and sheer size of the money introduced into the game. So M ^ and V ^ which means that P ^ and there we have inflation. Alching should be eliminated from the game. I think you misunderstood me. I am not saying alching isn't a problem, I am merely saying that the billions of GP that came into the game cannot be compared(conceptual, not monetarily) to alching. Its like apples and oranges, sure they are both fruit, but totally different fruit.
  2. Probably a bad example, its just something that came up. The point is, these updates do matter past just the face value. Updates like these can really shake up the player base psychologically.
  3. Guys ... It doesn't really matter if alching brings more money in n days. What matters is this wasn't gradual, it was a surge. What matters even more? Confidence. You don't see anybody trading Zimbabwe currency.
  4. Please don't explain my points to me, grasshopper. You didn't grasp them. The point is that if they had listened to the voice of the playerbase, Farming have been pulled out of the game or left to wither & die. Thankfully, they didn't cave in to the farm mockers & the rest is history. Despite the overwhelming negative opinion of the players, it survived and thrived. And the game is better for it. The moral of the story is - the playerbase has the collective IQ of a cantaloupe and is not nearly as qualified to direct the future of the game as it believes it is. I would agree with you if it was just new content, but its not. Not only did they screw up royally, they completely nerfed the boots. There is no reason to use these boots anymore. If they had done this update elegantly no one would be complaining. ALL THEY HAD TO DO WAS REMOVE THE PRICE CEILING ON THE GE AND EVERYTHING WOULD HAVE SORTED ITSELF JUST FINE.
  5. Uhhh, Jagex gave us bogus percentages that we can work with. So best case scenario is only 85 billion GP.
  6. Which sells them for higher than their actual cost,, and the time to get there means its not worth it. And how do you think people got halbreds before? Halbreds weren't always so close to their alch price. Nobody loses halbreds that is why they are so cheap compared to the shop price.
  7. Also because you can buy it from a store.
  8. Thats pretty funny, I must have read over that. By that logic people who were buying climbing boots to resell were making 22.5 to 30m a hour.
  9. Good thing RS isn't life. Whatever man, I honestly don't really care about some random noobs getting 2m. I care about the people who had a bucket load. I care about the allegations of update leaking. I care about how overnight, at best 80 billion GP entered the game. I care about how their reasoning to the update makes no sense. I care about how the reason climbing boots was broken in the first place was because the GE is flawed. I care about how Jagex upright said they aren't going to do squat. I care about Jagex lying and trying to spin things in their favour. Funny how MMH first says he the max he has seen is like 1.4k or something then he later says people have 4k in the GE. I care about how Jagex always wanted to keep things fair, how every update before this stuff was done to make sure none of this crap happened. I am not whining, I am voicing my opinion on what I believe to be a very distasteful update. Do you hear me going "wwwwwwtffffffff jagex plx I want 50m GP TOO NOW" or "stuuuuupid jagex ROLLBACK NOW" and spamming it everywhere? I pay for this game, I largely didn't mind all the new content they brought in even though I have been asking for high level content forever. But this is stupid. I never cared when summoning came out, and I didn't have 90k swamp lizards. I didn't care when turmoil came out and people had been hoarding dragon bones for half a year. This is NOT about me missing out on 500m. I just want to make that clear. When was the last time you said "Oh, theres only 50 million mosquitoes, so adding another 5 million overnight won't make a difference"?
  10. So its alright some players get an advantage because they are minority? Seems real fair here guys.
  11. Uhhh yes, Jagex did tell us. They said themselves only 1% had 50 or more.
  12. Only 1% made "a few mil". Extraordinary amount is pretty ambiguous, do you mean over 1000? or 100k?
  13. No one gives a flying cow dung about the boots, people care about the implications of the update. At this point I just wish they deleted the boots, would have fixed the problem just fine without screwing everything up.
  14. That would have made perfect sense, but you know.
  15. I believe that the subscription base for RS was 1 million right? 550,000 x 45,000 = 24,750,000,000 see says, So 55% had one pair, 99%, so with this we can conclude that 44% had more then one. So lets just say 44% had two. 440,000 x 90,000 = 39,600,000,000 1% had more than 50 pairs 10,000 x (50 x 45000) = 22,500,000,000 Edit: Its way way worse if you calculate the 44% having atleast ten boots, which probably sounds reasonable since theres a GE button that increases your quantity by ten. Second Edit: Also its quite funny how the profit margins for these 3 groups are. 550,000 people made 45k. 440,000 people made at worst 90k. 10,000 people made 2.25m. Gee that seems real fair doesn't it.
  16. So climbing boots alch for 45k now? Wouldn't that mean it protects over quite a few things?
  17. Magic completely destroys them but will cut into your profit. I would probably mage and melee if you decided to mage since you can melee fine in ahrims.
  18. Because P2P is lame
  19. Well if you aren't using atleast a super set then you'll have troubles getting anywhere near the max amount you can get. Piety/turmoil adds like 15-20k a hour at undead. Also if you aren't in the mid 90s for your attack skills then you won't get the max amount either. Also yes, use a combat familiar.
  20. Are you pietying/turmoiling and using super++ sets?
  21. Really? 170 an hour used to be good and it hasn't changed much since then.... 200 crimson an hour would probably what you get if you were bursting. However Op is talking about barraging, which means he is really really slow.
  22. 99 defence would be cool.
  23. If you don't have 96 summoning, your wasting money by not barraging rock lobsters.
  24. Ask yourself this Do you plan on getting 99 slayer? If yes, then level slayer. Otherwise don't bother with slayer.
  25. Lol you just made yourself look more like an ass than you did before.
