  1. Sometimes when I'm at the laptop with my earbuds on, I'll want to stand up and get something and they'll come out of my ears really hard. The worst part about this is my earbuds have little cushions that'll fall off when this happens, so I end up looking for them for five minutes every time it happens >.<
  2. I think it's the same part of us that thinks incest is wrong, which is a biologically completely natural thing (you won't see plants pollinating themselves either). Both, from a biological viewpoint, are seen as extremely last resort solutions, that should only be applied in extreme cases to further the species. And like incest, there are certain detrimental effects which make it naturally (and subconsciously) unappealing. So basically, I see it as immoral, but it can be a necessary evil at times.

I wondered what that was, so I looked it up and found a movie called Project X, about a party. So I go ahead and read the plot, sounds like a standard out of control party, until I get to the strangest sentence I've ever seen in a plot synopsis.
  4. Yes, because people aren't telling you you shouldn't eat too much cake, they're telling you to go out and rape a few women, as long as you don't rape too many women. Since when do we have to say everything literally? What happened to figuratively speaking? Are we supposed to change that sentence to "Everything is better in moderation, except for things like rape, murder and slavery, which are always bad."
  5. When people say everything in moderation, they don't literally mean everything.

On the bright side of all this arguing and bickering, at least OT is really active again.

Oh hey, welcome back thread. And now I do have my own (electric) drum set.

When I had my job interview at McDonald's last week, I was dressed casually (and I got the job), but I guess it depends on what job you're going for (I was just going for a job in the kitchen). Gio's suggestion sounds good. I don't know if this is the case with you, but I had to fill in a form a while back. He (the manager) used that form to ask me questions, told me to elaborate on certain answers, also regarding hobbies and such. Oh, and his first question was quite simply "Describe yourself", which caught me completely off guard. But I'm guessing all of that depends on the kind of manager you'll be facing, doubt it'll be the same everywhere you go. Either way, good luck. Today shall be a good day. Also, I may or may not be in a band right now. I've kinda half-jammed with them yesterday, so I'll wait and see if they invite me again next week.

I'm jamming with an old friend I haven't seen in a while and a drummer I don't know yet. Should be fun.

Got myself a job at a nearby McDonald's for the summer. Pays well and the employer seems like a nice fellow so I'm happy.

Thanks, I'll have to remember that site. And yesterday they announced Jack White the Third himself, among others. Holy shit yes.
  13. This damn concussion. I can't even listen to music for longer than half an hour without getting a headache. I'm [bleep]ing bored.

What a strangely specific thing to block it for.
  15. My internet's been working on and off all day today. That annoys the hell out of me. Also, those days where one of your contact lenses bothers you all day.
  16. That was certainly special, in a good way. Can't say I've heard a lot of music like it, and while I enjoyed it, it's not really my cup of tea. I also thought the drums sounded a bit strange with the rest of the instrumentation. 8.5/10 I once accidentally downloaded this song while I was looking for Muse's Resistance, and actually thought it was Muse for a pretty long while until I saw my mistake. Kept it on my iPod either way cause I liked it

Damn, that sounds awesome. Could you tell us about their setlists? I'm curious whether the Black Keys will stick to songs from their last two albums or whether they'll play some of their older stuff too.

Dubstep is pretty massive here too. Last week, on the snowboarding trip, we had some speakers on our room and 70% of the time it played dubstep like , or . I'm personally not a huge fan (as in, I don't know all the different artists or have it on my iPod) but I do like it. The appeal is in the drops, the parts where the music seems to become very random (especially noticeable in the first two tracks I linked, the last one is a bit chiller). They're meant to be as intense as possible, and if they're played at a party, you'll usually get mosh pits or acts of extreme headbanging. Personally I've never heard of brostep as a genre, though I do know older dubstep usually doesn't have those big drops like the more modern tracks do. It's kind of an acquired taste though, I can understand people thinking it's pure noise (I thought that too at first). Came back from the hospital, it's a light concussion, as I thought, and I'm supposed to stay at home for the next few days.

Well, that was certainly strange. Remember that party I told you about yesterday? The one with the free drinks? I ended up sleeping straight through that, went to bed for a nap at 2PM and woke up this morning at 7AM. And I'm considering going to a doctor to see if I actually do have a concussion, because I'm still waking up extremely dizzy and nauseous 4 days after my fall. I don't like it either. It sounds like a 10 year old was left in a recording studio for an hour or so. Seems like something people would only listen to while high... I honestly think my head would explode if I listened to hard dubstep while high.

Back from the snowboarding trip in Austria. Was awesome. Shared the room with seven others, made new friends, learned how to snowboard and all of that in decently good weather and without breaking any bones. Though I might have had a very slight concussion (from going down a relatively steep hill in a tube to end up on a tilted ramp, where I made a backflip with a landing on my back. I've seen video footage of the fall and damn, it looks just as painful as it was.) Tonight a birthday party, all you can drink for free. Probably won't go too far as I feel my alcohol tolerance has gone way down since that fall.

I agree. I'm leaving for Austria in a bit, had an incredibly relaxed day at school. All's good. See all of you in a week or so :)
  22. It's not really my genre, but I still liked it, nice and varied and some good melodies in there; 8/10.

Small question: I've got this little problem with a certain website. Basically most of the text isn't coming up. Here's an image: [spoiler=Image] I didn't change any browser settings or anything and it's only happening on that site for me, yet no one else seems to be experiencing it (since no one else on the Facebook page of the site mentions it, it seems they can just read the articles). Anyway, anyone have an idea what's wrong?
