What's more sickening is that the community actually permits the kind of "holier than thou" attitude where people are actually interested in -- quite literally -- tearing down people's accomplishments to make them seem better. You'd think they'd realize that it's not their life, and that they don't know specific details around top players lives. RS, being an MMORPG, by its very nature entails a feeling of a "never beatable" environment, to keep players playing for years to come. Also unsettling is how a large portion of the community seems to back this arrogant, egotistical attitude and supports them with their own. But then the whole culture of "I'm better than you because I feel I'm more productive with my time even though I also play games, watch tv, etc" has finally become the norm here in the entire world over the past 15 years, I suppose this isn't the exact manifestation of that. PS Suomi is from Finland, not the West.

I prefer using excel, plus I have hundreds of different excel logs that I link between each other so using Google Docs won't really help me.

Hey, I had a relatively simple question really, I want to know how to program excel to automatically pull my character's experience in each skill from the Runescape high scores, and place the data on my spreadsheet so I can do some tracking/calculations. I'm running Excel 2007. Thanks :)

Oh don't get me wrong, that is true. My problem was always that Jagex was forcing you to partake in the trial, instead of giving you the decision to. If anything they should give you the option for the trial on every account, allowing the player to activate it any time they want, or leave it if they dont.

Apparently, this trial is now removed :D Who knows for how long now, I haven't tried myself yet, but on HLF people are saying it is.

Yes, but RWT almost always leads to additional profits, which is what venture capital firms look for. It's a very smart business move, and as a business, I don't blame them for doing it. It's just too bad they have to ruin the product for the consumers by doing it :(

Considering 2x exp cards was next in line for Maplestory RWT (gambling, cosmetic shop being first), they will be selling the 2x exp soon enough instead of doing bonus weekends, which will "make everyone happy" because "some people couldn't log on the weekends, this allows you to use your bonus exp any time!"

My understanding was that it was your combat skill that you are training VS the monster's combat level. So basically if you have 94 Strength and train Strength, you could kill monsters as low as 64cb, meaning Greater Demons and the like would still be on the table. Or if you had 99 attack, you could kill creatures as low as level 69 to keep training it, even if your combat is that ridiculous 200. It is definitely going to have a large scale negative impact on our training methods and combat in general, but I'm almost positive it isn't going to make it impossible to train after a certain level. Just a lot more work for probably less xp/hr, because ofc 40K/hr is too much for us. Well if that's the case, I definitely don't mind this at all, I just hope you are correct, because I read it as the combat levels being the factor. This would keep it still very open, so i'll cross my fingers for that, been holding off going back to my f2p because of all this lol.

Well, this new combat may be the F2P killer... On the beta, Black Dragons are only level 114 combat (Meaning any combat 144 + will only get 10% exp for killing). On f2p, the highest combat monster is Greater Demons iirc, which I highly doubt will be even 100+ combat based on this. Lets say GDs become 114 combat too (highly unlikely), this would mean after 144 combat, which is the equivalent of 72 defence and 72 strength (or att/magic/ranging), and you would only get 10% combat exp forever after this point at best on f2p. Of course nothing is set in stone yet, but we do know Jagex has been slowly trying to kill F2P over the last year, this may be the next major attack...

Why do you have to be a new player to make a f2p account? After maxing I made a pure f2p because I enjoyed it more and wanted to step up the challenge, my wife made a new account as a pure f2p because she enjoys it too, and I have tons of friends who made pure f2ps because of the squeal update. It would be pretty ignorant to assume that out of the thousands and thousands of people making new accounts, that not a single one would want to make a pure f2p. Alot of people like the prospect of pure f2p and a decent amount of them will prob stick to it too.

Wife ran into a funny problem as a trial member but trying to remain f2p.... Many of you know there is a 50 item buying limit on member items and a 300 stack limit on member items to bank while under trial membership. However... both these limits also apply to MITH ARROWS, CHAOS, BIG BONES, and LAW RUNES. This means for 14 days, she cant deposit her law/chaos/mith arrows / big bones over 300... Even though these are free to play items. Man kinda gets annoying when Jagex's push for money causes bugs for free players too... (Though maybe it's very intended...)

It seems it is literally impossible to avoid the 14 day membership trial as of now for new accounts. I tried to make my new F2P account, and registered my email through the site to avoid getting the membership trial, but now just registering your email period adds the trial with no way to decline it. Problem is, you HAVE to register your email before you can even log on the game anymore, so noone can make a 100% pure f2p account anymore because of these membership pushes. I was wondering what (if any) exceptions would be made for getting in the top 250 list in the future given the fact all new players now have to have at least 14 days membership? For me, I'm just going to avoid using the SoF in total until the 14 day trial is up, and only playing on f2p worlds for the duration of it. I don't want to wait 2 weeks before I can even start lol.

So, looks like you can't make a f2p account anymore without activating the membership trials. I tried registering a new F2P only account, and it wouldn't let me log in until i validated my email, which thus gave me 14 day membership trial, saw absolutely no way to decline the offer...

No catch from what I've seen, my card only got charged 2 bucks, i got my points + spins, everything went through like nothing. But yes, very cheap RAF this way lol.
