Taking someone else's work, any work of any kind, and using it as your own without permission is like ripping a person's brain or arm off and pasting it on your forehead so you can look better according to yourself. No excuse, ever. If no one has thought you this in RL, now you learn from the people of the tipit media board.

It's unlikely sellings sigs for RS money will ever be banned from every single forum. The result of this happening would be a blackmarket of sig selling in "illegal" forums where people buy and sell sigs for RS money the way they have done before. There was nother mod reply that said selling and buy sigs for RS money was ok since there is nothing Jagex can do about it. No one is forced to do all this, the buyer WANTS to pay, it's the buyer's money, they can do whatever they want with that. It's not like you are trading something that has any RL money value for RS money. RS sig value = $0 RS money value = $0 Trading RS sig for RS money is same as not trading anything at all lol.

For 2 million gp, I suggest you PM Jeppoz. He will make the sig for sure if you really pay 2 million gp, I believe that would be the highest bid for him. I say this because he will most likely enter this contest, and beat us all in the end; therefore, wasting our time (or at least my little time I have, lol). For me, 2 million sounds really nice, but because I only have time to make 1 sig this week, I want to make sure I can earn some cash for the time I spent making it by continuing with my bidding list because I don't have as much time as everyone else here for sigmaking. Also, my bidders have been waiting very patiently and I want to make them happy as soon as possible. :)

Lol, I am more useful than a pking-sig manufacturer. :lol: I have still a few more 1 mill bids I need to take care of, and after that it's the list in my shop that ranges from 650k-1 mill. I can only make one sig per week, so it depends on how soon you want it done. Thanks, X-man

Hey I would enter but since I can only make 1 sig per week and I have many high bidding sigs to finish that are waiting in line, I don't want to make my customers wait any longer. There are some really good pixel sig makers here who will make something really nice, good luck. :)

Killer sig, I specially like the text font that makes the "t" look like a sword. I think you should keep your current on though, the best of two great simple sigs. :)

What I would do for a free sig: On November 9th, 2004, I would take the Halo 2 disk box, unopened, still wrapped in plastique, and place it on top of my xbox until I get a free sig. I will restrain myself from touching the Halo 2 box, or even from glancing it. Everyone else but me will be play Halo 2 in the world, talking about it, playing it, talking about it, playing it, waiting for Halo 3. I'll still play other Xbox games, but I won't have anything to do with that Halo 2 box and disk until I recieve a free sig. I am willing to wait any lenght of time before playing Halo 2 to get a free sig. This is the most torturing and sacrificing act I can think of that I would do for a free sig, it is THAT important. :D En verite, je ne ferai jamais ce que je viens de dire. Don't mess with my patience stoked...not realy in the mood to turn sharp... Basicaly what he did was take my image, change a couple things here and there, add the missing parts that was covered in my city...copy the exact same palm, the exact same grass (the 2 little bushes of his) and exact same birds. THAT'S RIPPING. The white lighthouse is inspired by my sig...the rest is merely ripped. Learn the difference... And just to let you know, i don't use RS images for my works... Got to hate it when people always try to justify an obvious rip they try to deny happened. That is ripping, no doubt. What a horrible rip, he butchured one of the greatest pieces of pixel art in the media board. Some parts are ripped DIRECTLY, some recolored. He attempted to use all your coloring and shading techniques (horribly again, the background mountains look like xmas trees). The worst part is you can tell he spent a lot of time "making" that sig, with the boarder, and careful choice of colors + a new object. Hang 'em high. :o

1. Has the quality declined? I've only been in the media board for 3 months or so, I don't think the change I've seen would be enough to say wether the quality has declined or not over a longer period of time. From the time I joined the media board up to know, I think the quality has declined, and quantity increased (sounds stupid but it seems to be happening): When I first saw the pixel sigs, there were only a few very good pixelers (yes I like to call them this insead of the long name "pixel sig makers"), and they were all worth checking out, rating, and giving great respect. Most of the original good pixelers I saw seem to be gone, and are now replaced with numerous rookie pixelers whose combined quality could not come even close to a single one of the original pixeler's quality of sigs. Quality, I think is diversity, how good something is, and density of good quality. There isn't much diversity, mainly just pixel sigs, yet there are so many other forms of art that could be posted (M&M sigs, I'll never forget that, kudos for originality and entrepreneurship), I wasn't afraid to try pencil drawing sigs just because they didn't even exist in tipit. 2. Is the pixel trend positive? If 90% of tipit media board pixel sigs were as good as Jeppoz's, Shaw's, or Jumister's sigs, then the pixel trend would be positive. From my opinion, the pixel trend isn't so positive because it attracts too many people who should just try something other than pixel sigs for their own good. I'm not saying I'm a good pixeler, but if I were to try abstract, it would come out pretty horrible and I would eventually move on as I know my capabilities just aren't there. I joined the pixel trend when I realized how close drawing MSpaint was to drawing in RL, and decided to use that instead of pencil drawings for sigs (which took much longer). 3. What keeps people coming back? New sigs by good people, demand for personal sigs. 4. How many rate my whatever posts are too many? People should be able to determine wether other people will like their work based on the audience's past reactions on similar past work. 5 What kind of posts do you REALLY ENJOY. Discussion threads, good sigs posted, my 60 page shop. :lol: Time to bring out the noob in me: I used to like those media project threads such as that puzzle where everyone put a piece of their artwork and combined all the pieces into one media puzzle (didn't do that as I just saw it). I also liked that pixel city pic thing, and the pixel houses project. These kinds of community projects are what the media board is missing, and need to be brought back if anyone can repost any of the old ideas or make new ones, I'll post something if I think it's worth working for. :) 6. For those who have left , cut back activity or are considering it, why? I have little time for sigmaking, but I am still making sigs.

I'm not insulting them, I'm insulting what they practice, their just sideline casualties. Insulting won't help changing the current "fad" of pixel sigs. If you don't like what's going on, change it by starting something you like yourself. Of course, it might be tough, but the first pixel sig maker who came to tipit (don't know who) did it. Someone tried M&M's sigs. I tried pencil drawing sigs, moved on because it took too long. Unless you plan to attempt to change the fad, insulting it won't help one bit. Either live with it, or go to another forum or in RL. So far you accomplished 0 progress by all the ranting you have done so far. As far as I've seen, RL has exactly what you want, and I have only seen abstract art a few times in some minor RL competitions. I'm not sure why you chose the tipit Media board as your art forum, but it isn't the only choice on the net for art appreciation. No one is forcing you to see what's here, you are free to check any other art community until you find what you want.

11/10, I would give a 12/10 but the lightning hitting the rune guy looks a bit too straight and stiff. Awsome work. Incredible effects, light, shading, texture, everything. A slight deviation from your usual style of people in foreground + background into many great objects and elements put together perfectly in a space not defined by foreground and background. :) PS-I think your current sig (which is great) you're using is becoming outdated with all your new sigs beating it by far. :) Edit: lol after I posted this I noticed Jesse also said something about your current sig.

I am accepting of any type of real art, which pixel scrawling is not. Any more than you would call someone spitting on the sidewalk art, and I'm not flaming, I'm aggressively stating my opinion. Thanks for your 87th analogy of art and pixel sigs, and for backing it with very specific, reliable, and fair evidence to support your opinion. Universally, art can be anything I think. I think it is understood by humanity that anything we make can be art if we call it so, even if only a few people like it. You can't say "pixel sigs are not art" because who are you to say what is art and what isn't art in the world, but you can say "I think pixel sigs shouldn't be considered art because...".

One of the descriptions for art: As somebody who 'took' art for over 3 years you should know that. they're not expressing anything, they're drawing a bunch of crappy figures miming actions from a game. I already said before that this forum isn't an art museum or DeviantArt. This forum is just a casual place to post pics of stuff, not the number 1 art gallery of the world. You complain about tipit's art as if it was the only art existing in the world. If you don't like it here, go somewhere else. It's like someone complaining there are no RS pixel sigs in the Louvre because that person likes RS pixel sigs only, but opposite.

I started but figured I won't have time to finish so I'm not entering anymore. It's only a contest and I have many orders to finish first before I start any new projects. It would have been a cool sig to make, but I've got to finish my list first. Good luck to everyone though, looking forward to seeing what you guys got. :)

Lol, I did what I would have done in RL. Look at the "real" place, and try to draw it like an artist would draw a landscape he sees lol. I have no idea how that place looks from memory. :lol:
