This is great...Trainable ice block is a suitable buff for mages in my opinion. It'll give the other trees some survivability. Also, I'm kara attuned but I face a problem: FROST or FIRE! I can't decide. At the moment, I am frost and just speced to spellfire tailoring. However, I think frost would be better because I can use it PvE and PvP. The cost is 150g to respec to frozen shadoweave, but if the reason is there I'll do it.

Since being a superpower involves being an INTERNATIONAL superpower, I assumed you guys knew I was talking about INTERNATIONAL culture--a melting pot so to speak. I'll be one of the first to say China has a rich heritage, but it simply does not accommodate foreigners. Therein lies the flaw of China, in my opinion, and the reason it will not become the next superpower. While it may "rise in the ranking", I disagree that it will be top dog. Examples: Persia --Cyrus the Achmenid. He united all of Persia and brought the people from around Kazakhstan to Egypt. Still not enough to be a major superpower Rome -- Incorporated the "barbarians" from norther Europe, the Africans and Egypt, and the Mesopotamians. Look up Pax Romana. Still only a superpower in the West. Ummyads & Abbasids -- Traded with India, China, Europe, and Africa. Definitely was the center of international affairs. This only counts because of the massive amounts of trade these people did. Still not a superpower because they did not lead by a huge margin in military and culture. We're getting closer though! Mongols -- United the land from Korea to Kaffa (north of the Black Sea) to Austria to Thailand. This empire was the largest land empire in history. They interacted culturally, dominated militarily, and controlled the Silk roads. Age of Exploration -- mini powers...not really super powers Britain -- America, Australia, Africa, Europe, India, parts of Asia...yeah. While the culture wasn't centered in Britain, it definitely brought bout new ideas that advanced the world because of the possible interactions. America & USSR -- America lead the world because of the ideas and cultures that thrived during its existence post WW. They are the center of economics (well that's changing but still), and so on. USSR mirrored this but to a lesser extent. China -- I dont see it being a place of cultural interactions. Yeah, you can be the biggest bully (not saying it is but it has the potential to be) on the block but that doesn't make you a superpower. Just my opinion.

You want art and culture? We've got over 5000 years of art and culture behind us, more than almost any other country can say. Wow, just wow. You have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, do you?

If you're going there just to live like average Joe... well then of course. It's a completely different culture and language that most people are used to. The language is much more difficult to pick up than most others and don't expect everything else to be a piece of cake either. But if you've done your research and have some funds on hand, I don't see why it would be so difficult. Plenty of people from other countries have moved there with success. They tend to have more luck in the larger cities though, since those places are better equipped to assist them in the 'settling-down' phase. Or, you can just be Chinese. 1.6 billion people are (Including me). China doesn't need foreigners IMO, they would be able to last on their own. That is not the point. The point is this: to become a superpower, you need to be a center for education, art, and culture. I dont see China contributing to any of those, and being isolated definitely does not help.

USA is the only western country still using the death penalty, they have prison camps for POW's with documented cases of torture and murder, they bully other countries through foreign policy and people still accept them as a superpower. Please, I don't want to hear about 'human rights'... Russia has ridiculously sub-par living conditions for the majority of people, conscripts die in compulsory military service due to harshess of drillers, prison conditions are that of savages, they threaten other nations constantly through foreign policy.. And they are considered as a superpower (at least during the Cold War, and regaining their status) China doesn't need people migrating in it's country. Why would it need westerners who demand a salary 5x that of a chinese person who will work harder with a smaller salary? People migrate in a country if they think they can take advantage of it's resources and tap into them. The international community is ruled by those who are able, not those who have a perfect track record of human records, neutral/friendly foreign policy and diplomacy, and democracy. Otherwise Switzerland, Sweden and Finland would be making all the important calls in politics. And with the chinese military being at over 700,000,000 troops (more than 2x the entire population of USA, and women also serve in China), I don't exactly see them as a "weak" nation compared to USA which has about 1 million active troops all over the world. I mean human rights in their own country. Their own people need to be in "better" living conditions, or at least that's my opinion. Russia isn't a superpower, they're the has-beens. A superpower isn't just a military and economic superpower. It needs to be a place of art and culture. There needs to be some beauty there. If you're a superpower, chances are you have the best education and such there is. Other people want that. Understood? But there needs to be some approval by the rest of the world. Yeah, they rock in military. They dont plan on taking us over, do they?

In a few decades the chinese have already surpassed the US militarily and economically... And in about 30 years, they'll have reduced the poverty in the countryside so much there will be 1 billion+ chinese living on better average standards than a westerner. I'm actually trying to learn chinese because of the future benefits (as well as japanese), but I'm finding the written Han characters a pain in the rear... :lol: I dont see how that works? If 1 billion Chinese people get out of poverty, that means somewhere else in the wrold there are 1 billion (more) people living in poverty. There has to be a balance and for China to overcome that is a stretch. If they dont improve their "human rights", I dont think the world will accept them as a super power. Usually people migrate to a country not because it's strong militarily but because they have a chance to lead a "good" life. To further this point, as far as I know, China is not very open to foreigners. I hear it's quite hard to settle down there if you are not Chinese.

It's not like, even if there was a criminal investigation, they would get in any trouble. The cops are cops, they seem to be able to do pretty much anything they want. You make it seem like they're corrupt beyond corrupt.

IF you know what happened, just google search things that fit it. 1 2 3 I dont know about clips though...it's kind of late for that. Just be neat and include general information on your poster but elaborate during your presentation. It will make you look smart.
