  1. personally, i wasn't very happy when they first removed bts, but after having tried both systems long enough i think that it would have been better to not bring back the bts, mainly for the reasons you stated there before bts were removed i do remember thinking up what the update might entail, and usually being at least slightly disappointed that it wasn't exactly what i wanted from it. if you tell me if i don't want to have the surprise ruined i should just not read the bts, you are forgetting the fact that if an announced update looks remotely interesting, people will talk about it all over forums, ingame, ircs, etc. and i, and i'm sure anyone else who agrees with me, won't want to isolated themselves from forums and have private chat constantly off just to avoid having the surprise spoiled and also keep in mind that whenever it seems that an item might be needed for an update announced in the bts, a lot of people will rush to the ge and buy it out and cause the price and availability of that item to be totally messed up until the update is released. if it was just 1 item it wouldn't be much of an issue, but if they mention something like and update to a skill, all the supplies for that skill will likely be bought out seriously inconveniencing people who just want to train said skill, or need the items for some other purpose and have no interest in speculation
  2. Quickly, tell me what to do after you connect the engine to the pillar! please :? which one?
  3. quest completed, puzzle wasn't too hard, just took forever
  4. Can you buy a box of steaks without buying a Bentley? Yes. Can you buy steaks from other vendors besides your Bentley dealer? Yes. Can you get the flag without buying a ticket? It would seem no. Is there any real way then, to separate the buyers who want to attend from the buyers who only want the pixels? No, not really. It's a monopoly situation. If you only want the pixels, you have to buy the ticket, or buy a code from a profiteer. Thanks for playing. well i think you could, from what i could tell (may be wrong haven't being paying too much attention), someone who intends to go could quite easily, not wanting the flag and sell that off to someone else, which would be flat out real world trading.... and judging from the example from world of warcraft posted earlier, it would just reach rediculous levels after the event if they don't do something to prevent it, that is my main issue with this. if in stead of emaling codes they just got everyone's rsn when they went to runefest and made the item magically appear in their toybox, or at diango or whatever after the event, i would not have a problem, i would not be too happy to have missed out on it, but i would get over it just like i got over not having bunny ears and [Caution: Jagex Rule Violation] and the like.
  5. nice stats, and i agree, the new skill was released a tad too early <_<
  6. another one down didn't want to spam up forums so just posted here =)
  7. agility was a pain..... 3 stats left, they shouldn't be too bad, all i need now is time (and sell some stuff from my bank to buy the rest of what i need for construction) EDIT: this one was quite boring, so i got it done quickly only 2 left now =) EDIT2: Its the final countdown.... assuming the new skill isn't released in the next month or so
  8. to people saying that the bolts should be removed from the economy to stop it being damage, won't it be better for a big pile of gp to disappear in stead, to slow down the inflation a bit, and the bolts will be used up in a bit anyway, and they are only a very small part of the market but bug abuse is definatly bad and the abusers they should definatly be forcibly removed from the game
  9. living rock caverns came out when i was 87, did all the mining between then and 99 at the gold there, i'm not the kind of person that keeps track of rate of exp gains, that would just depress me since i do get distracted quite easily by forums and the like and yes, physics is awesome
  10. you don't have to re-research them, but your university level has to be high enough so that you could have researched them in that city example, you research construction to level 7 in your main city when you creat a new city, to start with it doesn't feel the effect of that research however if you build a level 3 university, that university will grant the city the benefits of level 3 construction without the need to research it again have i explained it properly?
  11. You have to 'summon' them. In other words, you have to pay them in order to join you and take them off of 'prisoner' status. And be aware that their loyalty is pretty low to begin with (I believe the one I summoned started at like 50% loyalty and I had to waste some extra money to get it up to a more suitable level (but that's not keeping me from holding two more prisoner just in case I feel I need them   ). just make sure that once you summon them, you raise their loyalty asap or it will get more expensive atm i suggest using only gold as the other items are all needed for aspiration tasks
  12. I believe you have to have 100k of each resources; while it only takes 10k of each. when i built my city i had to wait for my gold to reach 10k, and my only resource over 100k was stone
  13. once you get to the position of senior prefect you can build a new city by invading flatlands, and chosing the option fortify while one of your legends is there i think pretty much everywhere it says that you need 100k of each resource to build the city, this is not true, it is a major typo and you only need 10k of each resource your new city will start out poor, (like the first one) and you won't be able to do the novice tasks to get loads of resources, however you can use a stable to send resources to your city, so upgrading your stable will greatly help in the building of the city: (level 2 stable will let you send 2 teams, each carrying 3k resources each, level 5 will let you send 5 teams carrying 15k resources each), and also upgrading you relay will help as it will cut down the time take of the teams to arrive (and transportation teams are slow)

  15. Usually about 10-30 rep, but yes. It's given to you in the form of spoils of war. depends on what level wildland, level 2 wildland for example i seem to get up to 80+, while for level 0 i get usually less than 10 atm, probably also varies with other factors, eg size of army, level of legends etc
  16. In case you didn't see that. Apparently we don't get them after release <_< although to me she didn't sound too certain about that..... one can hope
  17. applied to join alliance this game is fun so far, though i always seem to be lacking wood -.-
  18. by that same token recipe for disaster was not a storyline as it was just "go out and gather these random items" from what i can understand what you are saying is if it isn't mentioned in the starting dialogue it is not part of the story from what we learned during this quest, reading all the dialogues with nomad, this could well lead on to another much greater quest which combines this and other important story lines
  19. Whether he tells you to go kill him or tells you to find out what is going on, I think the point is that this quest has no storyline. She's right -- it's not a real quest. it does have a storyline, and it does link in with the mysteries of the mahjarrat and wgs storylines in some way, just because an imp says "he is up to something, find out what" doesn't limit the storyline to that and personally i think that this quest is comparable to within the light when refering to puzzle, length and storyline (it just repeated storyline from previous quests and tagged a bit on at the end), the difference is that this quest has an actually challanging battle at the end personally i enjoyed the quest the battle was a refreshing change from usual quest battles, where the most that happens is you have to change attack style (with the possible exception of corp, but even that does not compare to the standard of this fight), and imo it was the first proper challange to questers since mep2 (wgs was easy, just extremely long) i agree story line and puzzles could have been a bit better, but overall i'd rate it 7-8/10
  20. its amazing what awesome ways there now are to make money (speedwise, 1mil+ per hour) that revolve around some sort of skilling (and not bosshunting or merching and the usual stuff) due to recent high level updates runecrafting is going to become obselete as a money maker soon imo, but good that there is room for these new methods nice achievement btw, working on something similar myself atm, though i don't have too much time to indulge in it atm gl with whatever is next
