  1. Well said! Thank you for putting these simple (yet wholely compelling) ideas into such eloquent words. It was a pleasure to read and should be prominently posted where it can be seen by all as we take our first step into Lumbridge from Tutorial Island. "How you act when no one is looking is the clearest indicator of the strength or depravity of your true character." Words to truly live by.
  2. I thought you might want to know that people I run into there (and in ardy bank wearing combined initiate and mourner's with a pick in their hand) are starting to call this "Wakka's Rock" (heh heh). Happened twice now. Funny how many people cruise the Tip.It forums, but it's still not overly crowded (yet).
  3. There is a reason that everyone who regularly uses the blast furnace to train smithing steps outside the fence around the anvils before high alching. It's because if you don't, you will get a random event like every ten to twenty alchs. It was fun at one time, but after a while it is annoying and just slows you down. So, there is at least one place I know of where randoms are more common. Inside the fence around the anvils in the blast furnace while high alching.
  4. Very true. It sure is sweet right now though. :P I doubt if anyone will use the coal when it gets packed. lol
  5. Yes, but I thought you didn't want to buy them. You would have to buy the plant cures. If your willing to buy vials, water filled vials are sold in Shilo Village fairly near the bank. BTW, re-using vials after making potions that have little or no value is also an option. Just right click the potion and empty it.
  6. I had to tele out from the boss fight the first time. I ran out of food and he still had 1/4 hits left. Stay away from the high level trolls and they won't bother you when killing the ten needed before the boss fight. That was my mistake the first time and I used all my food fighting them. The level 82 trolls don't hit hard, so use protect from range and have at em. The second time through I only needed to kill two trolls before I could move on to the king again, so I had all my food left. I used three sharks on him though. Nice quest, the best in quite a while. BTW, no one has mentioned it, but getting to the cave can use up a lot of hitpoints too. Make sure to have lotsa run energy when you cross the second bridge and check the map to see where you're going first. There are a LOT of trolls and they are all aggressive. If you use protect from melee for the higher level trolls (they hit hard - I was hit for two 17s, a 6 and a 3 - minus 43 hits just getting to the cave), the rock throwers will nickel and dime you for a bunch of hp which is worse. I think it is better to protect from range and run fast. Once you get near the cave there are no more trolls and you can take a breather before you enter.
  7. I just quickly walked through it, but seems there was a lot of addy ore, too. Might be a good source for that.
  8. Jatizso - Shark fishing closer to a bank than the fishing guild? Hmmmm...
  9. Lordreverse is another player who levels on even XP increments. He has just recently powered prayer to level 99 though, and his total level is "only" 1824 which ranks him at about 7,300. His stats are amazing to watch. Leveling slayer to even increments along with hitpoints and the combat skills has got to take a calculator, don't ya think?
  10. FYI, the Water Elementals (lvl 34) in the elemental workshop in Seers Village (Elemental Workshop 1 & 2 quests) drop vials of water 100% of the time. It's a slow way to get vials, but you wanted a way that didn't entail buying or making. http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=172. Hope that helps.
  11. If all you care about is fishing XP, fly fishing @ Barbarian Village and dropping as soon as you catch them is the fastest XP per hour. It's a shame to waste all that cooking XP though. Lobbies are a good balance between XP and profit and at high fishing levels give almost as much XP as fly fishing if you're willing to drop them. But, if your going to drop them anyway, fly fishing is still more XP per hour. Swordies (and tuna) is slower XP than lobbies even at high levels, but is much more profitable.
  12. You need to go talk to Larry again before you can do number 12 in your guide (try to open the big doors). Otherwise, nobody talks to you.
  13. You don't need cod if you have a Ring of Charos (a). The penguin says it's his duty to help you and tells you the password phrase if you have your ring equipped.
  14. Death tiara. Who ever goes to the death alter except through the abbyss?
  15. Catherby farming. Close to bank and you can grow your highest level herbs, limpys, and watermelons without worrying about them dying. Edit: Oh, and if you want a lot of randoms for some reason, alch inside the fence around the anvils in the blast furnace. It's hard to alch 20 items without one.
  16. I know you fine folks considered the growing times of fruit trees six months ago and decided to keep them the way they are, but 14.6 hours is just plain wrong. I have planted some 25 fruit trees now and not one has taken less than 20 hours to grow and a few have taken 30 hours or more. I currently have a banana tree that has been in the last stage before full growth for 8 hours and is still not done. I understand that many factors (mainly luck) determine the actual growth time of an individual plant, so the times are just estimates. I always use super compost and pay the farmer when planting fruit trees if that matters (if so, you might mention that in the guide, too). But, 14.6 hours is just plain wrong when it takes an average of at least 24 hours and never, ever, ever takes 14.6 hours. Perhaps you'll reconsider and update the guide with an accurate range of times. Otherwise, you should just omit that information rather than lie to people. Thank you for listening. Humbly, Spheric1 Update: I am now planting coconuts and 4 of the 6 trees I've planted have only taken around 15 hours to grow and the other 2 only took about 20 hours, so I guess they sometimes do take only 14.6 hours to grow. Seems like this is the exception though, (or maybe it's because they are higher level?), and I still think it would be a good idea (more acurate) to give some sort of range to these times if possible. Thank you again.
  17. No, you don't want to open the sachophagus, but the chest also contains the sceptre. Unless you have 43 prayer, you don't want to open the chest either though. The scarab swarm will eat ya alive if they appear, which seems to be about half the time.
  18. I believe so. The snakes in the urns hit through prayer anyway for about 3 each time if you fail. Just make sure to eat a lot and use antipoison immediately if poisoned. As long as you don't open the chest or sarcophagus, you shoudn't get attacked by anything else...except you do. Sometimes when someone else opens a chest or sarcophagus, the mummy or swarm attacks you instead of them. Also, if someone ahead of you leaves the room without killing the mummy, it will sometimes attack you when you enter. It is usually easy to avoid it til it disappears, but your timer is running down while you wait. If you're skilling prayer, then no problems - pray protect from melee and they won't hit you at all (the swarm will still poison you though). So, I would say yes, but be careful is all, bring an emergency tele, and remember that checking for snakes instead of looting the urns doesn't give loot, but is a lot safer to level with. You will fail much less often. That's what I think, anyway.
  19. As soon as I get one, they nerf it. Just my luck.
  20. Mage is definately the way to go. 15 fire waves and done. Didn't need any food or pots. I had em, just didn't use any this time around. Stand close and pray against melee and let the spells fly. He poisoned me with -6 poison on the way in though, I think it was the spell he hit me with. So, I did have to eat on the way back :P P.S. I fell through a trap door an the way back out and my bullseye went out immediately. By the time I got it lit again, I was down to 1/4 health. So, I ate and then tele'd. :P
  21. Well, he laughed at my 87 range with msb and rune arrows, full black drag, archer's helm, legends cape, barrows gloves, glory, and snakeskin boots. I hit zeros 37 out of 40 times and finally gave up and tele'd out. Two of my three hits on him were 17s though. Goin back to try to mage him next. Maybe I needed crystal bow or Karil's crossbow. Or a rune crossbow with magic bolts? But, msb with rune arrows and 87 range ain't the ticket. P.S. It was great for taking out his little buddies, though. :P
  22. So much for a "high level" quest. 2501st post. Enjay (greengrrl) is an exception, so you can't go by that. You know any other level 69 quest cape owners? :-k
  23. Woot! 7k xp from lvl 69 thieving and I finally got a sceptre! I've been training other skills and just came back to the pyramid today to start training thieving again. It should go a little faster now. :D
  24. Yes, you are absolutely correct. But, actually removing the ads would have required "modification" to the stream and so would have been completely illegal. Allowing the user to "hide" them was a way around that. I feel Jagex has a right to require that the full display as they provide it be seen by the user. What they are requiring now is that third parties don't provide any method for users to get around that rule and I feel they have a right to do so. P.S. Actually, it always appeared to me that the "shift up" option in SS was more an attempt to make the f2p display fit into the existing template rather than hide ads anyway. That's what I thought, anyway.
