  1. from the first development diary, when they were discussing the name changes. also, summoning development was begun at more or less the same time as hunter was finished (also in the development diary)
  2. i thought they said summoning would be to hunter what smithing is to mining. ie, you use what you gather from hunter to advance in summoning. is this what you meant?
  3. the boulder at the entrance to brine rat cave: "is it a rock crab? our survey says no." dark kebbit: "quieter than a ninja mouse with slippers on"
  4. an excellent guide. i would recommend putting the "great brain robbery" book into the gorillas bit, as it saves money and means you don't have to leave to restock. wouldn't normally be a problem, but if you want it to be a comprehensive guide, i'd suggest it anyway. the only other improvement i can think of is the huge list of different places to train being broken up a bit. it's slightly daunting when first opened and isn't ideal for quick referencing.
  5. penguin eggs were confirmed in the fourth development diary. i agree that there are more in-depth discussions in "general discussion" with regards to summoning. quests i would have thought should be added: Cold War (the penguin quest, for penguin eggs maybe), Eagles' Peak (because summoning will tie in with hunter a lot) this is a well laid-out guide, and has some good information considering nothing is concrete. i especially like the idea of getting more net traps for hunter, i hadn't thought of that. i do think a lot of it is superfluous, however: advice for people wanting to train firemaking with summoning - buy a tinderbox. mining - get a pick. i'm sure anyone who has ever levelled in most of the skills will have these (and other) basic items.
  6. i can finally get rid of those prayer pages, cluttering up my bank. will visit it when i'm done ranging a bit more.
  7. what some people might do now is learn from their mistakes. instead, you seem to have resigned yourself to quitting. just pick yourself up and get on with it. what have you lost, really? a nice outfit, and a 900k bow. lots of people could cope with losing that, so try it.
  8. i have been to GWD once, and made it as far as the bosses. i was actually very happy that i nearly died and had to use my teleport shortly after getting in there. it gave me something to aim towards and to guage my improvement by. i have the utmost respect for any group of people who manage to beat these monsters. it is something different and a bit of fun which requires good teamwork in order to be enjoyed properly by lots of people. i don't see the point of this thread, really. kids will bicker, will complain, will kick up a fuss if something isn't catered to their specific needs. if you don't like it, move somewhere else. seems to me that's what the clans are doing: moving so they can enjoy it more without you there.
  9. that's shocking. really, it's terrible. OT: jagex have said that making any update takes time, and this is a huge update. the planning stages will have taken weeks, maybe months, let alone all the artwork and coding. you can't just make it up as you go along when you're trying to please over a million members.
  10. i'd probably buy all the things i've ever wanted in runescape and not know what to do with them. i much prefer struggling to get things than having them. "there is no way to happiness, happiness is the way" and all that. i'm fairly sure i'd quit about a month later.
  11. i tried betty swallocks one time on another account but it was too long. gutted. also, on my first account (elementz m) i wanted elementz but it was taken.
  12. forums are by far the easiest way to do this. he is not getting his friends to do it, he's asking everyone to join in. if i wanted a sara kite right now, as opposed to [something else i have], i could offer to trade for it. i'm not his friend, i don't know him. it would be a simple trade, same as happens all the time in runescape. it's also fairly obvious he's not doing it for the money. look at his sig. see all the money and the santas? and this would be a horribly slow way to make money. also, to all of you who've said that he should do it and THEN tell people about it, you'd say he was lying. it would, perhaps, be more interesting that way and it would be possible to prove it with screenshots of reasonable-looking trades but it would be much easier to give up that way.
  13. in varrock library you can find a book called about the "dagon'hai." they were the zamorakian mages in varrock, and i think it is safe to say that they will feature in the new quest this month. it tells their story and also gives a very good indication of where the dungeon will be (by the statue of saradomin). just thought it was interesting, really. have told a few people about it and the books are untradable.
  14. that's very good, and much better than most of the other threads on here. i think it is a bit harder than that, though, as the animation needs to take into account longbows and composite bows. admittedly, it would only take a tiny bit of tweaking to change what you have there to make it work for any bow. well done for taking the time to come up with an alternative. right now, i'm going to go and shoot some arrows to compare the two.
  15. looking at your sig, i assume that you enjoy the combat aspect of the game. if so, keep all your best sets for fighting in. the gilded would be a huge step down from this. if, however, you are hoping to come away from the fighting side of things and maybe work on some other skills, you may prefer the 'better-looking' armour. i have good armour in the bank for fighting high-level monsters and the rest of the time it is definitely fashion before function for me.
