  1. Go for gold with your Farming! Nice work, lvl 61 already. Good luck with the rest of your goals as well! :D
  2. How?? It's a way to obtain the herbs to use in herblore. I could say your method of merchanting herbs then buying herbs is more merchanting than herblore and heck, killing chaos druids is more combat then herblore...
  3. The guide isn't too bad. Pics are there and well written, fairly good grammar. One disappointment, not ONCE did you mention you could grow your own herbs. It is very cheap. Irits for example. Irit seeds sell for 2k ea, and you will get at least 5 irits per seed, saves you money. Ranarr seeds are good and another way to lvl Herblore as well.
  4. Thanks Tiigon. I'm glad my guide is helpful, it did take a lot of work.
  5. I always seem to get a fairly solid team with ONE noob, and its normally the person who plays opposite me (he'd be healer, I'd be defender etc.) And they NEVER use the horn! It is so frustrating. I'm trying to lure the runners and he's not calling, sometimes I dropped all 3 foods for the heck of it and hoped to get lucky. I find defender isn't too hard. I was lvl 2 defender against the Queen and I took out ALL the runners before the Queen was even out! Was I lucky or something?
  6. Exactly. I right clicked Al Kharid guy with the "Glider" option and got the 2 options, one about the glider, and the other asking What the gnome thinks about Ali M. I left click the Gnome, same same. And it doesn't speed anything up on the others. The Grand Tree, Karamja and White Wolf Mt gliders are all one click anyway, so why add a right click option?
  7. Well, I'm logging off for the night. Pretty good day, got 2 levels and plenty of Watermelon :D
  8. Edited some more mistakes. Logging off for the night.
  9. Thanks again for all the support, its great motivation! Hit 57 Farming! Papaya time.
  10. Your getting these goals easy! Gratz on 60 Agility, quite an achievement... But 40 Farming...c'mon! :P
  11. Some of you are taking it out of perspective. For starters, you can only use it once every thirty mins. I think 5 extra items every 30 mins is fine. The spell SHOULDN'T be usable in wildy. The spell would stop working in the wilderness. Not a bad idea, just needs a little tweaking.
  12. Alright, I've now put up some day 2 blogging. Expect more as today goes on, I've also put in a level up pic! I expect another lvl up as well today, I'm getting very fast xp!
  13. Thanks for all the support so far! =D>
  14. You make me sound like an idiot! All mistakes corrected and added in your extra ways to get to Cactus patch. Pedrahm5, thanks for the confirmation about Gnome Stronghold.
  15. Thanks for the support Uga and Rad. Fixed a few typos in guide.
  16. Ok, about to log out for the night. Only 2k xp from lvl 56! :) Planted 4 pineapple trees, harvested my first run of watermelon. Every single watermelon plant alive!! Every herb (irit) also alive. A good night all round for me and my Farming.
  17. Yes it can be good, but you get a lack of decent seeds as a high lvl farmer. Its mainly pineapples below, the occasional yew, papaya or palm and a rare Magic. It's not too bad if you don't have a lot of cash and don't mind waiting days for the nests.
  18. Hey, Boony didn't fail. He's a national beer icon now with Boonanza. I've got a Talking Boony! :P Thanks for all the support so far. I'll be putting up the first post with some piccies in a minute.
  19. I'm sure some of you may remember my Ranarr Farming blog a little while back. I've decided to make another Farming blog, this time its more of a trying to get levels blog. I've splashed out 1.95M on seeds. I'm guessing these seeds will get me to roughly 65 Farming, from my lvl atm, which is 55. As usual with my Farming, I ALWAYS use supercompost and magic secatuers. This is what I'll be growing. A little guide to the picture. (List starts from left, goes to right.) TOP: Magic Secatuers, 33 Papaya Seeds, 35 Irit Seeds, 5 Mushroom Spores. MIDDLE: 1 Cactus Seed, 202 Watermelon Seeds, 4 Pineapple Seeds, Pineapple Sapling (1) BOTTOM: Pineapple Sapling (2), Pineapple Sapling (3), Starting Farming lvl (55) So theres a rough outline of what I'm planting. GOALS: 57 Farming (Papaya) [X] 59 Farming (Whiteberries) [] 60 Farming (Yews) [] 62 Farming (Snapdragon) [] 65 Farming (Goal level with my seeds I bought) [] Day 1: The start of my blog. Nasturtiums have grown at all 4 of my patches. (protection from Watermelon) My first loads of irits and watermelons have gone in. A starting pic from Catherby. Preparing to plant my 8 Pineapple seeds/saplings soon. Planting first four now. At this time, I'm 7k away from lvl 56. Day 2: Alright, up early and checking my plants. My pineapples still need about 2 hrs roughly before they're ready. I've went around and collected another round of watermelons. A record 35+ watermelon harvest in there. It takes so much longer now to do my rounds because I get so many warermelon. It's well worth it though. Had a level up as well, got to 56 Farming, now only 1 level off Papaya, at 57 Farming. At the rate I'm farming, I'm going to have enough watermelons to make bins and bins and bins of supercompost! Here's a level up pic. As promised, I managed another level up. The levels are coming pretty fast and my watermelon seeds are running out fast! :( . Now I'm 57 Farming, so its time to crack out the Papaya baby! Got another level, making it 2 for today, checked all pineapples and watermelons. Day 3-12: I've been off at BA and taking a little break, but its back to Farming now. Day 13: Yes I'm back after my little break. Right back into it, checking all my rounds. I've got a new outfit now, thanks to Hunter and BA. Penance Gloves, Spotted Cape and Boots of Lightness are now included to ensure I can run as long as possible with not much weight. First runs were pretty good, watermelons giving me a good harvest as usual. A few more irits were added to my stocks and I'll be planting my Papaya soon. I've also put some money into MTK to get myself some more seeds. 100% Maple, 50% Flax so it should return me with plenty of tree seeds as well as a little profit as well. Day 14: Again, back on early. Every right to be, a nice lvl up this morning. 59 Farming now! The lvls are coming along pretty well, however there is one snag, at the time of writing, 25 Watermelon and 9 Irit seeds left! :XD: Looks like Papaya are the only left to grow, but I'll be withdrawing my MTK in a few days, so some new seeds may come, hopefully a few Yew seeds!! Don't think I'd leave you without a lvl pic. I'll be away camping for the next 3-4 days so you'll have to keep this bumped for me! :) Day 17: Ok, I'm back after my camping trip and right back into the farming. I planted some whiteberries to celebrate 59 Farming and pics will be here soon for those. My watermelons are pretty much gone, might revert to using some of my lower lvled seeds as I still get a little experience. The papaya will be going in soon, I just need to get some pineapples for farmer payments. If anyone has unwanted pineapples, I'll be happy to take them off your hands, I'm willing to pay for them also. Heres a pic of my whiteberries.
  20. About that 1 big post. Ctrl F my friend. Press it, then type in a keyword like Farming 57+ and you will get that section, easy. Anyway, I don't mind it. It's a good guide for beginners, for the higher lvls it is pretty simple if you got cash...Good job, looks like you took a lot of time to write it.
  21. Yeah, these are cool! I think they're pretty funny. Make it a random sort of thing. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Judged by the replies, it seems that nearly everyone thinks they're cool.
  22. I'm really sorry, I didn't even realise I posted this... EDIT: Alright, complete guide is now up.
  23. Table of Contents. {1.0} Introduction to this Guide. {2.0} Allotments, flowers and herbs. {3.0} Trees. {4.0} Fruit Trees. {5.0} Specials. {6.0} Bushes. {7.0} Hops. {8.0} Concluding Words. {9.0} Suggestions and Corrections. *Hint* If you need to find a certain part of this guide, just press Ctrl F and then type a keyword in. {1.0} Introduction to this Guide. I love Farming. I really do. I find so many people who struggle and hate the skill. I was thinking of writing a guide to leveling, but Dr Toxic beat me to it. Instead, I've written a guide giving you detailed info about where to find EVERY single patch in RuneScape, as well as many ways of getting there. I've also written a little about each patch and how it works. Pics will be included and I hope you find this guide very handy. Well, here it is. A Guide to EVERY Farming Patch in RuneScape. {2.0} Allotments, flowers and herbs. Allotments are one of the most widely used Farming patches in RuneScape. Many different fruits and vegies are grown here. Kah bah gees, strawberries, corn, watermelon and the list goes on. There are a grand total of 4 Allotment patches in RuneScape and all are relatively close to a bank. Allotment patches also come bundled with herbs and flower patches, both quite useful as well. Allotment 1: Draynor. This allotment is used by many farmers. Easy access and close to not 1, but 2 banks! There are many ways to reach this patch. A) Glory to Draynor and walk north to patch. B) Home Port or Lumbridge tele and walk west from Lumbridge to patch. C) Falador tele and walk south to patch. D) If your house is in Rimmington, use House Tele and walk from Rimmington. E) Use Fairy Ring to get to Zanaris then walk from Zanaris, through swamp to Draynor then north to patch. (Need to start Fairy Tale pt 2.) F) Catch a boat to Port Sarim and walk north. I highly recommend A). This is closest and as long as you have a charged glory your fine. B), C) and D) are all fine to use, they are easier to get to as you can get free laws through W66 Law Co. (or craft your own). E) Is a stupid way, but its a way to get there, just very slow. F) is ok if your low on laws, you can't use home port because of timing and you don't have a glory AND your near Tzhaar. Hey, it might happen! Allotment 2: Port Phasmatys. This allotment is not as widely used as Draynor, but for hardcore farmers or those who want maximum harvests, grab your ectophial and head over. This one isn't as close to a bank as Draynor, so if you have big harvests, expect a little time cut out here. On the plus side, there is a waterpump VERY close to the patch so I recommend you refill your watering cans here! There are a few ways to get here. A) Use Ectophial then walk west. (Ghosts Ahoy required.) B) There is a fairy ring in the Haunted Woods. Sadly, it is one way so it won't work. C) Walk from Canifis. D) Use Kharyll Tele (Need confirmation, is that the Canifis pub tele?) and then walk west from Canifis. Use A). Use this always. If you haven't completed DT or Ghosts Ahoy, you'll have to walk from Varrock to Canifis then walk west from Canifis (method C)) If you've done DT, then use route D) As its a quick access to Canifis. Allotment 3: Catherby Move over fishers! This is a prime Farming patch. It is close to a bank, easy to get to and no quests required! What a patch! There are easy ways to get here, cheap and easy. A) Camelot Tele and walk south. B) Gnome Glider to "Sindarpos" (White Wolf Mt) and walk south to Catherby. (Requires Grand Tree completed.) C) Come from Taverley and go under White Wolf Mt using underground passage. (Requires Fishing Contest) then walk south, right into the patch. D) Walk over White Wolf Mt from Taverley to Catherby. E) Walk from Ardougne. :ohnoes: I recommend A) and B). They are both quite quick. You do require the Grand Tree complete for B) though. For those on a tight budget, use C), this goes under White Wolf Mt, skipping an annoying trek. The passage leads right up and just north of the patch so it is recommended as well. I don't recommend D), do Fishing Contest, easy quest. E), I don't know why I listed it but it is a way to get there, just slow. Allotment 4: Ardougne Our final allotment. This one is fairly annoying to get to. It is also fairly close to a bank. Sadly, most forms of transport required to get near the patch requires quests. A) Ardougne Tele and walk to the north bank, then north out of Ardougne. (Requires Plague City completed?) B) Gnome glider to Gnome Stronghold then walk from Stronghold to patch. (Requires Grand Tree) C) Get boat from Brimhaven to Ardougne to walk through city and out to patch. D) Walk from Seers. E) Dial up BLR on Fairy Rings then walk west to patch. A) and E) are probably the fastest. B) is also good if you've done the quest. C) is not recommended and D) is only if your in Seers and have no tele. EXTRA: Herb Patch. This is a newish herb patch released with the quest "My Arm's Big Adventure" Herbs planted in this patch will NEVER die! No bank nearby sadly. A) Trollheim tele and walk into the stronghold. B) Walk from Burthrope (remember Climbing boots!) A) is recommended. You earn the tele off Eadgar's Ruse quest and since that quest is required to do My Arm's Big Adventure, that is the best way to get here. Otherwise, walk from Burthrope using B). Could take a while... {3.0} Trees. Trees are a favourite with Farmers. Not only are they great xp when you check their health, they are your own personal tree. It grows back like any other tree AND it cannot be used by others. Just yourself! There are currently a nice 5 tree patches. Tree Patch 1: Lumbridge A tree patch fairly close to a bank and easy to get to! A) Home port or Lumby tele, walk out of courtyard and around to patch. B) Use Gnome Glide to "Kar Hewo" (sp?), walk through gate then across bridge to Lumbridge. C) Walk east from Draynor. D) Leave Zanaris and walk north from Shack. I highly recommend A). You can use your home port or a Lumbridge tele. B) is ok if your near a glider spot and don't want to waste a tele. C) is only if you don't have a tele and D) likewise. You could check the allotment in Draynor, bank, then walk east. Tree Patch 2: Varrock Castle This one is fairly close to a bank. Also easy to get to. A) Varrock tele and walk north. Voila! B) Use Spirit tree to teleport to Varrock woods near Wildy and then walk south. C) Use Balloon from Enlightened Journey quest. Walk west from Lumber Yard. D) Walk north from Lumbridge. E) Walk east from Falador. A) is perfect, very close to tree patch. B) and C) are good alternatives but both can be tough to be near spot where balloon/glider leaves from. D) and E) are slow but they work if you low on laws. Tree Patch 3: Falador. Another good patch, one of the two tree patches closest to the bank. Easy to get to as well! The best tree patch out there! :) A) Falador tele and walk from centre. B) Come north from Draynor. C) Canoe to Barb. Village then walk west D) Walk from Varrock E) Use balloon from Enlightened Journey then walk north, past the gate, then to Falador. A) is the best option here. B), C) and D) will all work and E) is a little slow. Tree Patch 4: Taverley If you like your balloons, then this patch will be easy to get to. Sadly, no bank nearby, either have to walk to Rogue's Den or Falador. Only 1 way to get here quickly. A) Use balloon from Enlightened Journey and walk north, Voila! B) Games necklace to Burthrope and walk south. C) Walk from Falador. D) Go under White Wolf Mt (or over if Fishing Contest not complete) from Catherby to patch. A) is the best option, if you can use the balloons though. B) would be the best for most as a games necklace is fairly easy to get and its probably the closest to the patch. C) and D) are both alternatives, just a tad slow. Tree Patch 5: Gnome Stronghold A personal fave. Close to a bank and easy to get to, provided you like Gnomish quests. This is a new patch and should be added to your farming routine. It's been confirmed, you can get into the Stronghold with no quests. (Thanks Pedrahm5) A) Get Spirit tree to Stronghold and walk west to patch. B) Gnome glider to "Ta Quir Priw" (Grand Tree) then climb down the tree, walk southwest to the patch. C) Walk from Ardougne. Either A) or B) will work really well. C) is for those who don't like Gnomish quests, or who happen to be in Ardougne. {4.0} Fruit Trees. Another popular one with Farmers. Fruit trees also give big chunks of xp, and the fruits can range from useless to vital. Pineapple trees are hot property as they give Pineapples, used for Supercompost. There are 4 Fruit tree patches in RuneScape. Fruit Tree patch 1: Catherby. Great spot. Close to a bank and easily accessible. Fruit Tree patch 2: Brimhaven This is not a bad patch, sort of close to bank, bring some coins for the boat! A) Catch a boat trip from Ardougne, costs 60 coins return. B) Walk from Karamja. A) is the best way. You can bank before and after. B) is only good if your in that area. Fruit Tree Patch 3: Gnome Stronghold This Fruit Tree Patch is east of the Tree patch in Gnome stronghold. Near a bank and easy to get if you like your Gnomish quests. A) Get Spirit tree to Stronghold and walk east to patch. Fruit Tree Patch 4: Tree Gnome Village Outskirts A deserted patch. Far from a bank, hard to get to if you don't like Gnomish quests, only use if you need xp! A) Walk from Ardougne. B) Spirit Tree to Tree Gnome Village, talk to Elkoy to leave village then walk around to patch. B) is easily the quickest. Use A) if you don't like Gnomes. {5.0} Specials. Specials are not widely used. High lvls Farmers (83+) use Spirit Trees to give them another tele in those hard to reach places. Sadly, other specials aren't used very much. To kick off our specials list, we have the Bittercap Mushroom! Bittercap Mushrooms. I included a pic because I'm not sure if people know much about these. A) Dial up CKS on Fairy Ring, simple, close to patch. B) Walk from Canifis C) Walk from "Priest in Peril Gateway" A) recommended. B) or C) will also work. Cacti I will again include a pic of these as I've just grown a patch! And heres the location. A) Glory to Al Kharid, walk to patch. B) Home port or Lumby tele, walk east to Patch, through gates. C) Use Duel Ring and walk south. (Thanks Berrakus) D) Gnome Glider "Kar Hewo" to Al Kharid then walk east to patch. (Thanks Berrakus) All options will work well here. B) is slightly slower and C) is the best from those on a tight budget. Belladonna I can't farm these so I will just give the location. Calquat I hear these are popular, and are grown to be used as big xp chunks. A) Catch a boat trip from Ardougne, costs 60 coins return. B) Walk from Karamja. C) Walk north from Shilo D) House tele (if house is in Brimhaven) and walk south. C) is the best way. You can bank before and after at Shilo. D) isn't too bad if your house is in Brimhaven. B) is only good if your in that area. Spirit Tree The Big Kahuna of Farming. The Spirit Tree. There are 3 locations for a Spirit Tree, but you can only plant in 1 spot. Location 1: Miscellania A) Take boat from Relekka, walk north then east to Etceteria. B) Dial up CIP on Fairy Rings and walk east from Miscellania (Thanks again Berrakus) A) is the only way to get there. If someone has another way, please post it. Location 2: Draynor A) Glory to Draynor and walk west to patch. B) Home Port or Lumbridge tele and walk west from Lumbridge to patch. C) Falador tele and walk south to patch. D) If your house is in Rimmington, use House Tele and walk from Rimmington. E) Use Fairy Ring to get to Zanaris then walk from Zanaris, through swamp to Draynor then west to patch. (Need to start Fairy Tale pt 2.) F) Catch a boat to Port Sarim and walk northeast. Location 3: Brimhaven A handy location for a Spirit. A) Catch a boat trip from Ardougne, costs 60 coins return. B) Walk from Karamja. A) is the best way. You can bank before and after. B) is only good if your in that area. {6.0} Bushes. Bushes aren't used much. They don't give much xp. Some higher lvl bushes can be quite useful however, especially for the budding Herblore fanatic. Bush Patch 1: Champions Guild Quite accessible, if you want to grow bushes, this is a good spot, also for starting out farmers, this patch is close to both the Lumbridge hops and the Draynor allotment patch and even the Varrock tree spot is nearby! Might be a bit of a walk to a bank though. A) Get a canoe to Champions Guild, and walk north, too easy! B) Varrock tele and walk south. C) Lumbridge tele or Home port and walk north. D) Walk east from Falador. A) is easily the best way here. Use your lumbridge tele or a home port and you can use the Lumbridge Canoe station, very fast and right to the patch. B) is quite quick, C) a little slow, but can be combined with canoe as I mentioned. D) is also a slow route. Bush Patch 2: Rimmington If your house is in Rimmington, that will be a bonus getting to this patch! It is possible to bank using a servant if your house is in Rimmington. (Thanks Tommybuckk) A) Home Tele (if your house is in Rimmington) and walk west, very quick access. B) Glory to Draynor, walk west into Rimmington. C) Walk south from Falador. D) Use teleport in Wizards Guild that goes to Dark Wizards Tower, then walk southeast. (66 Mage required?) E) Dial up DIS on Fairy Ring, walk north to Draynor then west to Patch. F) Home port or Lumbridge tele, walk west to Draynor, then west to Rimmington. A) is the best bet, if your house isn't in Rimmington, go B). C) is alright if your in the area. If you happen to be in Yanille, D) is a good option. You need access to Wizards Guild however. E) is a bit slow, but it will work. Same with F), but even slower... Bush Patch 3: Etceteria There is a bank close by, hard to get to though. Maybe plant a seed and pick the berries when doing MTK runs? High lvl Farmers (83+) might use this patch if they planted their spirit at Etceteria. A) Catch boat from Relekka, then walk northeast to Etceteria. (If house is in Relekka, use that tele, Enchanted Lyre, AJR on Fairy Rings, then walk west to Relekka) B) Use Spirit Tree to Etceteria (82 Farm required, must of planted Spirit Tree there.) A) is obviously the only way to Etceteria unless you planted your Spirit Tree there. I've listed a few ways to get to Relekka as well. Bush Patch 4: Ardougne Outskirts The final bush patch. A little way from a bank and a bit far away as well. A) Ardougne tele and walk south. B) Catch a boat from Brimhaven to Ardougne, then walk southwest to patch. C) Get a spirit tree to Tree Gnome Village, talk to Elkoy who will take you out, then walk east to patch. D) Dial up DJP on Fairy Rings and walk west. D) is your fastest option if you have Fairy Rings. A) isn't too bad either. C) is good as there are spirit trees around. B) is fairly slow, but if your on the Karamja/Brimhaven region, its not too bad. {7.0} Hops. Hops are another rarely used Farming patch. Beer brewers might use it, but I don't know many beer brewers... Some patches can be included in your farming run though if you have the seeds. There are 4 hop patches. Hop Patch 1: Lumbridge Not bad for a beginner. Close to Champions Guild bush patch and also sort of close to the Draynor allotment. Good for extra xp. A) Canoe to Champions Guild and walk south. B) Walk north from Lumbridge (use home port or lumbridge tele) C) Walk south from Varrock D) Walk east from Draynor. A) and B) are your best bets here. Since the home port is free, it can be used here as long as you haven't used it within the last 30 minutes. Hop Patch 2: Entrana With the new balloons, a little easier to get to. Got to go to Draynor for bank though. Remember, no weapons or armour! A) Catch a balloon to Entrana (Requires Enlightened Journey quest) B) Catch a boat from Port Sarim. Either will work well. The closest bank however, is back at Draynor. Hop Patch 3: Yanille This patch has a few ways to get to and has a bank close by. A) Get Gnome Glider to "Lemantolly Undra" (sp?) (Feldip Hills) and walk north through ogres, to Yanille. B) If your house is in Yanille, use house tele and walk east to the patch. C) Watchtower tele and walk east along fence then into Yanille. (Agility shortcut halfway) D) Walk south from Ardougne. E) Leave CW and walk south, then east through Feldip Hills, then north to Yanille. F) Dial up CIQ on Fairy Rings, then walk south, then east along the Yanille fence line into Yanille. A), B), C) and F) are all good options and will work well here. B) is the quickest, but all will put you nearish to Yanille. D) and E) is quite slow compared to the other options. Hop Patch 4: Northwest of Seers. This patch is a little out of the way, but if your passing through Seers, maybe stop and get some hop seeds out. A) Camelot tele, then walk west along the path in Seers, then head northwest when you get to the Pillory. B) Dial up ALS on Fairy Rings, then walk east, leave McGrubor's Woods and head north to patch. C) Use lyre to Relekka then walk south. A) and B) are the best bets. C) is a waste of a lyre telly imho. {8.0} Concluding Words. Well, thats it. That is my guide to every farming patch. If your ever lost, can't find that Belladonna patch or need to know a way to get to that Ardougne bush patch, be sure to check here. If you have found any errors, post them here and I will fix them up. If you have any suggestions such as another way to get to a certain farming patch, post them here. Constructive criticism is always nice, don't just flame the guide. *NOTE* The AOW Map to Farming patches is a dead link. {9.0} Suggestions and Corrections. Berrakus, many different little errors and suggested a few extra ways to get to patches, thanks heaps! Pedrahm5, confirmation of not needing any quests to get into the Gnome Stronghold. Thanks as well. Tommybuckk, told me that you can bank in Rimmington by using your servant if your house is there. Thanks!
