  1. Lucky. :P We're hoping for one here tomorrow. There have been a lot of closings so far, but not so many in Oakland County yet. We're supposed to get like 3-8, with around 4-5+ being enough to close school.

    PS3 and PS2?

It was on Digg no less than a week agoI hadn't seen or heard anything about it till I read this topic :-s He's under the impression that everyone on TIF uses digg. Sorry that it's no longer relevant since it was posted on digg 3 days ago. Not a week ago, 3 days ago.

    A Moral Issue

I assume you mean those two adults would be careful enough to not get pregnant. In that case, incest wouldn't be wrong, but I still wouldn't recommend it due to the possible emotional risks. My only point is that it's hard to make blanket general statements like "incest is wrong." I mean it feels wrong thinking about it, but logically, in that case, it's hard to argue it. Which is weird.
  4. I want to laugh at you for mixing the names up but I've done that once too. :( One of my best memories of my favorite scenes was in Oot too, at the end of the game. I just remember brief images, but for some reason that final boss battle stuck with me. I think memories are created in video games whenever we have any emotional reaction - a surprise in a storyline, a sense of achievement passed hours of frustration, a really fun time, etc. That's what most of my vg memories are associated with.

To play devil's advocate, how about incest in cases where it's consenting protected sex between two adults?
  6. I was playing Twilight Princess not too long ago, and just really appreciated its art. Not the graphics, but the art. I'm referring specifically to one of the last temples, that twilight one. There are plenty of really artistic scenes in the game, like the wolves howling to each other across a canyon. The overly saturated look is a great feel too. Okami is another game that has great art. The graphics aren't that great and use cell shading, but it has such artistic value. I'll admit I haven't played it, but stylistically it's stunning. I don't want this to turn into a "best graphics" thread, so try to only mention games that are really artistic too. And post images. :)

    A Moral Issue

I do not find anything wrong with incest. I do find it wrong for two closely related people to attempt to create a child, as statistically the chances for a disorder are high, but I really don't see anything morally wrong with incest. So it's weird, we get that, just because our society has taught us to think it's weird doesn't mean it's morally wrong in any way, shape, or form. And the fact that you don't even have enough evidence to convince yourself shows that you're point is weak beyond comparison. Omg dude, you believe in incest but you won't get it down with me? Is it cuz i'm white? I can change.. ! Okay, here you go, I took the time to fill out a order form to put you in the mental institution program. It helps you cope with reality. Enjoy. ~Defender~ Are you 11 years old? Grow up and learn how to function as a proper human being. Seriously, I am yet to see an argument from you that is strong or based on any logical reasoning in any way. Prove me wrong. What? You don't know? that a logical reasoning human being has incest 20 times a year? The number is rising drasticly and we need to stop it.. oh wait, got no proof, continue it! wootz. Yes I am 11, if that makes you feel better. sorry I don't got any man made quotes to please your senses in the brain that i'm not a illogical freak. My bad! Maybe i'll use science to change that someday! Anyone know some fake websites I can find by some kid that proves me right? I need sources people!!! ~Defender~ Defender, what they're saying is if you want to debate, use logical points. You just keep repeatedly saying that he's messed up for having that opinion, diverting from the issue. And when you do talk about the issue, you're not bringing up logical points or countering his points. Just because it spurs your emotions and makes you feel bad inside doesn't make it morally wrong. It could be morally wrong for different reasons, but you need to give those reasons if you want to hold your ground in an argument.

    PS3 and PS2?

Did I say otherwise? I swear, you guys are going back to pretty weak old arguments now that you're running out of them, as nintendo's finally claiming back it's rightful marketshare. There's just not much of anything bad about the wii, and I'm finding it funny there are still people who go out of their way to try to find things. Thats what I was responding to you stupid fanboy Could you calm down with the flaming hypocrisy? I said "you don't even really use much muscle moving a remote." You said that I said that it required no muscle whatsoever - which I didn't say. I really hate going off topic and apologize for doing so, but I couldn't let this one go un-countered. With that, I present you something that is ps3 related. :)

    PS3 and PS2?

Well you can't argue hardware-wise that the PS3 is the best system ever made. That doesn't translate to overall system success though, as we all learned. As they're not going to be making ps2 games forever, why not try out getting a Wii or Xbox360? Personally I'd recommend a wii. :) wii your half hour of fun...then what fun? More than half an hour. you get the point.... You're completely right. A half hour of Zelda and I'm just mind-numbingly bored. At the rate I'm going I'll finish the game in early 2009, because, well, you know that wii. It's graphics and gimmicky gameplay can only keep my attention span for a half hour. But man, that Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire for the PS3. That game keeps me hooked for hours. it could be because your tired from swinging the wii mote around. Ugh, that argument is so three months ago. You don't have to actively swing the remote if you don't want to. I have never gotten tired once from playing with the wii. It just doesn't happen. If you get tired using that remote, you shouldn't be playing it in the first place, and should be in a hospital doing physical therapy until you can go back to the real world where people actually use their arms. I was going to say muscles, but you don't even really use much muscle moving a remote through the air. Which, let me say, is completely optional. You can just flick your wrist if you want.

    A Moral Issue

How could we actually even discover one? Perhaps one person would say 'yes! Thats definately one!' Where as another would say 'are you crazy?' Case in point: any possible absolute moral we 'discover' would have to be either incredibly blatant and obvious, which begs the question why didn't we discover it a long time ago? Or it would have to be handed down through an obvious spiritual encounter which no one could fake or twist as a conspiracy theory. Wouldn't the commandments being given to Moses count as something like that, where he was given tablets of what are apparently absolute moral rules?
  12. It's called "faith", which is one of the most vital parts of the Christian religion. I never understood how accepting something without the need for evidence could be considered such a virtuous quality. But that's a whole other thread...awhile back now... :P

  14. I love this type of architecture in Dubai (some being concepts): There are also amazing pictures of the interior of a hotel there but I can't find them right now - if anyone knows that link let me know. Have we had a Dubai thread yet? We really need one. That place is insane. :P
  15. I love new design. I've always disliked anything made out of wood. Warm colors, your browns, your oranges, your yellows - never liked em. I like cool colors. My ideal look is cool colors like blue, purple, green, etc with metallic or glass with blacks and whites. I know it's kind of cold, but I like that sterile look. I really wish I knew design names better so I could further describe things, but I just really dislike most older buildings. It could just be their age and the fact that I like shiny/clean, and not their architecture that I don't like, but overall I prefer the look of Seattle over buildings like these:
  16. Yeah, everyone did it that way back then. I remember wasting a few hours away there getting the legends requirement. :P

    A Moral Issue

Absolute truths are as provable as the existence of a God. I'm not really fully understanding how an absolute truth could exist, unless it really was a set of divine laws. Do these hypothetical absolute truths apply only to our earth, or to everything in existence? To humans only? It sounds like absolute truths would have to be tied with religion because to believers of evolution, at one point we were primates. Primates are allowed to kill each other, but if absolute morals existed, at what point in our evolution were these divine truths imposed on us to follow? Absolute truths seem to have to be dependant on religion, unless that was painfully obvious.

  19. You just reminded me of this page of scary bible quotes
  20. Eh, we have a ton of proof, but every highly religious person will just take each claim and find some backwards way of saying it's possible it didn't happen, or take a line from the bible and say it could have suggested otherwise. I wouldn't call its messages flawed. It was just written a long time ago, and should be used for general moral lessons, with the fact that it was written a long time kept in mind.
  21. I watched that speech, and as usual, loved what he had to say. Whether or not he's capable of doing everything he says, who knows. But he's the only one in the runnings whose political philosophy I agree with. I absolutely hate Hilary. I'd love to have a woman president, but she always polarizes with whatever helps her own case look best at whatever time instead of doing what's best. She seems to encompass low blow politics and all of that aggressiveness that I hate so much. Obama's going the opposite direction and is above all of that. I think he'd take us in the right direction we so desperately need. Unfortunately though, I just don't see him getting close to winning.
  22. I have an idea for you. Over the summer, take online classes. That way you'll be learning, but also getting real credit for taking a class. :)
  23. Same exact reason. Baths just take too long. They're nice if you have plenty of time and want to relax, but 99.9% of the time I take a shower. I don't think I've taken a bath in a few years actually, which I probably should, since we own a jacuzzi. Like you though, I never liked the whole bathing in your own filth thing either. :s
  24. I agree that education is the most important. Strengthen education, and you strengthen most other areas. The absolute least, in my opinion, is terrorism/war.
  25. Hmm, then I wouldn't be making this thread? http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=le ... tnG=Search Happy? That'll keep you busy for hours.
