Dungeoneering has an effect on the economy in two ways. 1. People are dunging and not actively buying and selling in Runescape. 2. Chaotic, and to a lesser extent Gravite, items bring pure GP out of the game when people repair them. The first reason has the bigger impact on the RS economy right now as economies depend heavily on buying/selling/trading. The inactivity Dung has caused on the RS economy is easily measurable and obvious from the current slow down in almost all items. The second reason is going to have the bigger long term impact on the economy. I haven't done any calculations or tests, but I'm pretty sure that the 2M GP that it costs to recharge a Chaotic weapon is more than the alch value of items obtained in using a full charge. With the popularity and increasing usage of Chaotic weaponry, this might be the long term money sink that Jagex has been looking for to combat the recent inflation from PvP.

Partyhats
I am one of those few. Trade me the phats I need to complete my set, and any extra you might have, and I'll gladly hand over the gps. I will be holding onto my phats forever. Yes, forever unless I can upgrade at a price I am willing to pay. Phat prices are simply the result of supply and demand. Nobody at Jagex has ever taken a serious interest in economics and it is the problems with the GE and trade limits that people hate, not necessarily the prices of Phats. If there was free trade or the GE actually reflected true market prices each Phat would be well over 1B gp and blue would most likely be max gp. The people who think that Phats aren't worth it, fine, that's your opinion, but don't tell me that they aren't worth it, cause there is clearly a market. IMO a Phat is worth any 99 ten fold, if not one hundred fold. For every gp you spend getting to that 99, you are forfeiting future price increases on a Phat (assuming you trade Phats for gp to buy skills). To those people who think Phat owners are elitists, grow up and get over it. I often lend out my Phats for free to anyone in my CC who asks, and also to random people I meet who are kind and/or ask nicely. Wanna borrow my Bunny Ears? Too bad noob!

There is no phat "problem." There is a fixed supply of phats and an ever increasing demand for them. Econ 101 says that price will always continue to rise as demand rises.

Frost bones are gonna spike for a few days while merchs play with them. But I see them falling below 20k per just because of how fast people can get them. Dragon bones won't be affected until frost bones fall below 18k imo.

An Intelligent Perspective On Botters
First off, we all started at the bottom. So you can't argue that the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. How did the rich get their money? By putting in the time and earned it. The people with 130+ combats put in so many more hours than the level 70 woodcutters. I think that those with high levels should be rewarded for the time they put in. Sick of being level 70 with no easy way to make money? Easy answer: put in more time and earn your levels to allow you better money making methods. Besides, Jagex is making it easier and easier for low level players to make money. I remember the days of classic where making 10k/hr was insane money. I also remember the early days of RS2 where making 100k/hr was insane. In the whole history of Runescape, high level players are the ones making the best money and it should always be that way. Put in the time and earn your rewards. "But what about the level 80 players who will never afford enough money to get good gear to MH when they're high leveled?" If you can't earn 100m on your way to 130 combat, you're doing it all wrong and you don't deserve it. There are so many ways to get 500k-1m a day doing 20 minutes of work. If you don't want to put in that small extra effort for the easy money each day on your way to high level combat, that's your problem.

I got the same message from the same person. The instant I informed her that I reported her for staff impersonation, they logged. It was hilarious.

Latest RuneScape Poll - Bonus XP Weekend
Are you excited about the Bonus XP Weekend? No. It cheapens the game for the weekend and totally messes with the markets. I'm sure jagex already views the event as a success because all the buzz it has created. I think there will be future bonus xp weekends but probably only one or two skills at a time and no more warning than a day or two. Which skill do you plan to focus on for the Bonus XP Weekend? Lots of Summoning to do. 1900+ blue, 10500+ crimson, 2000+ green and 6000+ gold charms to use. Going from 73-99 that weeknd. Maybe do some Herblore afterward with the ingredients I have in my bank. How will you be preparing for the Bonus XP Weekend? I like to plan my time in advance so I had tons of seconds already stocked. It wasn't too hard trading those for the other seconds I needed.
