  1. Yeah I shouldn't have quoted that. I wanted to add that while XP nowadays is easier/faster to get, and some people seem to downplay the achievements of the current leaders, everyone has the opportunity to train these skills at the speed we can experience today. Obviously, regarding the XP/hr list, anyone that played RSC, pre GE, pre frost bones... find themselves at a disadvantage. My apologies if my post sounded like I was arguying the point with Plqx, merely attemping to expand on the subject!
  2. While this is true, since the GE came out, all these players you mentionned have been in the same playing field as the current leaders. If they had kept the same pace, they would have more XP than the current leaders. XP/Hr is only good on a given short period of time, between major game changing updates. Old timers are at a disadvantage because they chose not to train fast skills, quit for some time or simply stopped racing with the others.
  3. Both sides are guilty ... you can't deny the huge grind-fest that's called RuneScape. Almost every game has a grind part and this is especially true with RPGs. If the players don't like that fact, they should play other games. IF you don't like a product, you don't buy it. If you wanna be a doctor be can't be bothered to study the whole 7 years, you either choose another career or you cheat your way around it. If you get caught cheating IRL, you don't have a second chance. This should be the same with RS. I understand that Jagex fear they might lose too many players if they act harshly on cheaters, but at some point, a responsible company should at least ackowledge publicly their stance on an issue that has been tearing up the community for as long as the game was released. Things Jagex could do to to reduce botting without perm bans: - Temporary name change to a serial botting name like : botter0003 (this would identify the botters to everyone in a standardized way - imagine that know-it-all friend who is always showing off having his name changed...) - Temporary-permanent ban from trading-use of GE. - Being able to only use bronze items (combat, pickaxe, hatchet) for a predefined period (I.E. 3 months) or other means of training way below the usual training methods - Being able to log in a special botter's world for a predetermined period (let the botters fight amongst themselves for ressources!)
  4. I don't think he can maintain the pace all the way to 200M but if he does, major props to him. On another note, Tezz has reached 1,7B xp, a mark that will become the floor for top 15 once Green098 reaches it. You can also expect Paperbag to fully start ranging around new year and gain ranks on Erw J and Lan before Kingduffy or Suomi catch up to him.
  5. Are your clue items from the last 7M slayer xp? or from your total playing time?
  6. Concerning Jdelacroix, I don't think he will hold rank 1 overall (highscore frontpage) for a long time. Elvis and Telmomarques are both outraining him at a 3:1- 2,5:1 ratio at the moment. They are about 4-5 months away from him at their current pace although the more XP you get, the less fast skills you have remaining usually.
  7. Thanx Necro, flame wars and threads growing 7 pages in 2 days because of spam are not appreciated.
  8. Update of the top 15 (late update caused by a very intense week followed by an even more intense week-end!) 1. Skiller (previously Aasiwat) : 2,41B xp. Still training magic, this ultimate skiller is on its way to be the first player to 11 and 12 skills over 100M. He should also be the first player to "half max out". Coming milestones: 100M ranged and 100M farming 2. Zarfot 2,35B xp. Inactive. 3. Jdelacroix : 2,25Bxp. This future rank 1 overall is still training dungeoneering and is on pace to reach the front page in 3-4 weeks. He's also trained some WC last week. Coming milestones : 100M xp ranged, 100M dungeon and 100M HP 4. Drumgun : 2,16B xp. He reached 100M fletch last week for his 9th skill over 100M and is on pace to achieve 100M WC in 2-3 weeks, joining Skiller for most skills over 100M. He's also training ranged in a very cold place. Coming milestones : 100M WC 5. Elvis : 2,05B xp. Still battling Telmo for rank 1 overall, Elvis is once again training dungeon, crafting and herblore. Depending on how many saved tokkens he has, he could max out dungeon next week. Coming milestones : 100M WC, 200M dungeon and 100M attack 6. telmomarques : 2.05B xp. Still training slayer, he's gained major XP last week in all effigie related skills with a boost in RC. We must also remember that he has 2 effigy combo skill already maxed out (thieving/con and Cook/fm) which makes it all the more impressive. Coming milestones : 100M str 7. Gertjaars : 2,02B xp. Still inactive. 8. Elias : 1,90B xp. Once again training crafting and dungeoneering, he's reached 1,9B xp last week and should get his 5th and 6th skills at 200M early in 2011. Coming milestones : 200M crafting and 200M dungeon 9. Lan : 1,87B xp. Inactive . 10. Erw J : 1,85 xp. Inactive. 11. Paperbag : 1,84B xp. Ranging and farming can summarize last week for Paperbag. We've been told he has a litte cash flow problem, which could explain why he's not powertraining like he did with herblore... we'll see. Coming milestones : nothing in sight 12. Kingduffy : 1,81B xp. Still very consistent, he's spent most of last week either farming or hunting which helped him reach 1,8B xp. He's about to lose a rank to Suomi, but will gain 2 from Lan and Erw J in the coming weeks. Coming milestones : 100M WC 13. S U O M I : 1,78B xp. One of the fastest training player last week with Elvis and Telmo, Suomi is closing in on 200M magic (7th skill) as well as training WC, FM, crafting, farming and dungeoneering. He's about 2 weeks away from claiming rank 12 from Kingduffy. Coming milestones : 200M magic (7th skill) and 1,8B xp 14. Tezz : 1,70B xp. He's finally caught up to Green098 and gain a rank last week. Still training slayer, he will reach 1,7B xp today or tomorrow. He's also very close to maxing out HP, which could mean an halt to slayer training for the time being...something that I doubt. Coming milestones : 200M HP, 100M str and 1,7B xp 15. Green098 : 1,69B xp. She got her 5th at 200M last week with dungeoneering and moved on to ranging and prayer. She still has a place locked in the top 15 until the new year probably. Coming milestones : 1,7B xp and 100M ranged
  9. Aasiwat said it, the main point to maxing out all skills or gathering major XP is consistent training over a long period of time. This is why players like him, Jdelacroix and Drumgun are up there in the top 5. They all had slow and fast streaks but they've been training consistently over the last years. In the end, the player who will eventually max out will simply need to get the XP, be it from fast training or consistent "average" training. The end result is what matter most though. An efficient player who trains at the fastest pace 30 minutes everyday will probably be outrained by someone who puts in more hours. If I battle someone in PVP, it doesn't matter how we both trained... only what our stats are.
  10. I have to agree and disagree at the same time. Players like Suomi and Zarfot have clearly trained using what people here call "efficient methods" (mining, superheating and WC/FM/alching-fletching). A couple other players like Lan, Drumgun and Aasiwat clearly mentionned that they will not play the game in a way that they don't like with reference to intense clicking. While it's nice to make projections based on ultimate training rates, in the end we are talking about normal persons playing a game, having different tastes, ups and downs and activities outside of the game. With all these variables into the equation, projections become theory and nothing more. Talking about projections, some of my predictions made on page 69 are looking pretty good!
  11. Tezz has finally caught up to Green098. These two should both get 1,7B xp next week. Elias should get 1,9B xp next week also.
  12. Can we expect him to join Drumgun for most skills at 200M?
  13. The only thing lacking in your analysis are XP rates and total time to 200M slayer and RC. Someone will probably follow up on that though. Nice summary all in all. I know I will be making the most of slayer not because of efficiency but rather because I enjoy slayer more than camping.
  14. I played 6 years without a dragon defender... i can wait 2-3-4 more days...
  15. @aribiterspar I noticed Delta a short while ago. The fastest player out there at the moment xp-wise and could enter the top 15 as soon as the end of january 2011.. but that would mean Tezz and Green098 slowing down and the rest of the competition also (fredmcgarry, skiller 703...etc). It would be more realistic to see Delta in the top 15 by the end of the first quarter of 2011.
  16. Wouldn't using effigies on RC be more efficient? They're probably in the same range though. 40-45k xp per hour each means putting in either becomes a choice of what a player doesn't like training (keeping in mind that every player wishes to max out to 200M in all skills... which is hypothetical and obviously not true).
  17. Even though I root for Skiller these days(and for the last year), I always found Zarfot's skill breakdown (HP:Slayer ratio and most skills over 50M) to be the best of the top 15 with Lan except he had like 1/3 more XP than Lan. Being a huge slayer fan, I had a certain disposition to these players. Tezz is an avid slayer, but sadly has a "bad" HP:Slayer ratio. Also note that this ratio is only accurate with very high XP. For example, a 2:1 hp:slayer ratio at 150M HP xp is a lot worse than at 20M hp xp. The real indicator would probably be total HP xp over slayer xp.
  18. expected higher attack bonus form dragon defender... Still a nice upgrade to combat and XP rates!
  19. I recently got my first chaotic weapon, a rapier. Since its stab attack is +16 compared to its slash attack, I have the feeling I should always set my weapon to stab attack. Which slayer monsters assigned by Kuradal should be attacked by the slash option or other weapons ( I.E. chaotic maul on crush for Waterfiends)?
  20. Paperbag has started training ranged. Expect him to pass Erw J and Lan shortly. He could even catch up to Elias if he maintains the fast pace he had when he trained herblore. I was somewhat wrong about Drumgun, he got 100M fletch sooner than I thought. I have a very good feeling about Telmomarques ever since he started slayer, as many top players will bypass slayer to get faster skills like magic and ranged outside slayer to gain faster XP and consolidate their current position at the expense of their long-term positions.
  21. Green098 has maxed out dungeoneering (5th skill at 200M). Kingduffy has reached 1,8B xp. Can he pass Erw J before Suomi catches him? Drumgun should reach 100 fletch later this week for his 9th skill over 100M.
  22. Update of the top 15 1. Skiller (previously Aasiwat) : 2,40B xp. He moved to magic last week with some farming on the side and also became the first player to reach 2,4B XP. It looks like he will keep his rank 1 for a couple more months now. Coming milestones: 100M ranged and 100M farming 2. Zarfot 2,35B xp. After months of gaining on Skiller, Zarfot stopped playing last week. Time will tell if it's permanent or temporary. 3. Jdelacroix : 2,24Bxp. I called a race last week for rank 1 overall, unless Elvis or Telmomarques can catch Jd, he will be rank 1 overall in the early weeks of 2011. He's still training dungeon and looks to max out near the year's end. Coming milestones : 100M xp ranged, 100M dungeon and 100M HP 4. Drumgun : 2,15B xp. Like the couple several weeks, Drumgun has been focusing on WC, fletch and ranging. He will join Skiller very soon for most skills over 100M. Coming milestones : 100M fletching and 100M WC 5. Elvis : 2,02B xp. The battle for the highscore front page is still going strong with Elvis training dungeon, herblore and crafting for major XP gains last week. He entered the top 5 last week as well as the 2B xp club with Telmo close by once again. Coming milestones : 100M WC and 100M attack 6. telmomarques : 2.02B xp. Telmo maxed out dungeon last week for his 7th skill at 200M. He then moved on to prayer and slayer with some herblore on the side. HE also became the 7th player to reach 2B xp and gained a rank form Gertjaars. Coming milestones : nothing in sight 7. Gertjaars : 2,02B xp. Still inactive. 8. Elias : 1,88B xp. Gained a rank from Lan last week still training dungeoneering and crafting. He's having the 3rd fastest pace of the top 15 behind Telmo and Elvis. Coming milestones : 1,9B xp 9. Lan : 1,87B xp. Inactive . 10. Erw J : 1,85 xp. Inactive. 11. Paperbag : 1,84B xp. Another slow week for Paperbag mostly training farming. Coming milestones : nothing in sight 12. Kingduffy : 1,80B xp. Still hunting, Kingduffy will reach 1,8B xp early next week. He's got a couple weeks lead on Suomi for the time being. Coming milestones : 100M WC and 1,8B xp 13. S U O M I : 1,75B xp. Still training WC, FM, magic and farming, he's about 2-3 weeks away from maxing out magic and 6 weeks away from passing King. Coming milestones : 200M magic (7th skill) 14. Green098 : 1,68B xp. Unfortunately, I don'T have anything new to say about her... Still training dungeoneering, she should max out in the coming week for her 5th skill at 200M. Coming milestones : 200M dungeon and 1,7B xp 15. Tezz : 1,67B xp. He's still gaining on Green training only slayer these days. He should pass her before the year ends. Coming milestones : 200M HP
  23. Welcome back Drumgun! First off, I like EasyScape! Second, some people on this thread, myself included, are wondering if you plan on getting another skill to 200M anytime soon seeing that there are now 3 players with 7 skills at 200M and especially Telmomarques looking to be in a good position to get 200M pray and herblore. Good luck with your goals mate!
