  1. Probably due I the works later I'm guessing.
  2. I don't think it looks all that bad on its own, just in relation to most other game features eg it dwarfs all the fortress and palaces and castles we already have and it looks rather wrong in relation to the trees imo. It looks so horribly out of place. Theres a nice patch of green grass with some trees and a pyre then BAM! an ugly ass black castle appears out of nowhere. No build up scenery or anything. It's like they didn't make an effort to integrate it into the landscape at all. Why exactly does a black ugly fortress require 'build up' in the landscape? I could buy a plot of land in an idyllic meadow and build a big-ass black ugly building, nothing forces there to be deadened trees and ground around it. And that's why you're not a concept designer. You know how you walk into Draynor, it slowly goes darker and darker, due to the omnipresence of Count Draynor, the Vampire who corrupted that area of land with his tyranny? Exactly. They didn't just build a ruined, evil manor on a flowerbed, they gradually built up to its presence of aura. The way the design looks so far for the black knight's castle, is some styrofoam sprayed black and plopped on the wilderness boarder. Honestly the story change up might actually make the clunkiness acceptable. Ideally though I would have a expected to see a hidden fortress on the fringe of the wilderness. But I would have also expected to see some significant path to falador to emphasize its past with the city. Possibly even some in the corner lodgings for them in or near the city itself.
  3. Would be interesting for lore I bet.
  4. Waste my time with that post...
  5. Anyone remember the Triumvirate? Vaguely, but how it worked not really...
  6. I'm hoping for it honestly. I'm even betting that jagex has hinged some of the gods concepts and beliefs on this.
  7. It's still possible to solo Kril 15-20 times per inventory including a yak.
  8. I feel our choices will still be limited.
  9. I was trying to piece together a bunch of interesting tidbits... From this we understand the players will play an active role changing the world. This excerpt will further support the notion that the Divination skill will be a focal aspect to the world events coming later on. This excerpt also foreshadows that divination being the source of our 'divine' power to battle the other gods. Whether that be directly or indirectly know one knows. World events will potentially be 3 month events so ideally a clear concise winner from the factions would be imminent. Quests and their endings might be tailored to the winners of these world events. I felt this excerpt was the most interesting becuase it hinted at the biggest aspect of the skills mechanics. The world events are based on global events which then effect plot outcomes. This may actually be jagex response to their desire to let players create their own quests. Instead players get to take the seat and help tug along the plotline the way they desire it to be. I've played the walking dead before and the endings are slightly limited, but getting to the end is never under the same route. I would imagine the instancing after events might be one of the more intriguing mechanics. I thought at first the instancing would be just for the event at a localized place. The instancing might actually run seamlessly with RS3 when HTML5 goes live. When the moderator stated that he would love to do large scale destruction to the world similar to the dragonkin attack I think he had the future world events in mind.
  10. Intriguing... The black knight fortress... Feels like it needs a bit more...
  11. If divination is something more of a future sight thing then its rewards must be quite interesting based on this premise: The gods are not actually gods. They are mortal beings who have absorbed so much power from the artifacts that they have gained the power to do innumerable things. Many of them very obscure or even observed for that fact. With that said I wouldn't put it past these 'gods' to be able to hear our thoughts, read our intents and ultimately grant our wishes. Thinking in terms of prophecies, more specifically self-fulfilling prophecies, the gods might play the role as divine wish granters. Though they might not be so bold as to grant them up front, but I would suppose they would send down 'signs' through use of divination rituals. What I and everyone else is struggling with is what might come from this skill that would be of use. I can easily see how the lore would be tied in, but a product... how?
  12. Interesting... I wonder what other MMO websites might offer more insight into the press conference details.
  13. So should we expect them this week? Assuming they keep their word.
  14. Confirmation of the next new skill Divination:
  15. You could say I invented my own context to how he voiced his choice (not that it was the way he actually intended to convey the message). When he said "I could..." I took it as he could, but decided to withhold for selfish reasons. Meh... A derp moment.
  16. I was trying to elude to that reasoning, but I guess I wasn't throwing that out there strong enough. Respect for the business is all good and well for me.
  17. I think I get what you mean by putting the storyline into the game more fluently. The game obviously wont forgo their epic quests with story material because these things are at the core of the game. Though I still feel you are wrong on this aspect. The player base wants something with replay value, has lore and isn't a one-off quest or piece of content to play through. Because this is going to be a skill based around the lore we are going to take an active role in the lore and how it will change and shape the game. Previously in quests we would get snippets of back story, play a quest involving the problem involving the areas history and gain some insight into future events. Instead of playing content tied to the past lore we will now be playing content tied to the present and in a sense future lore and history. Previously we would always be looking back into the past for prolonged periods of time. We would glance with our investigative eye at the lore from the past to solve a present puzzle lore-wise. Now instead we will be living that moment where grand and epic events would happen such as the betrayal of Char. Events such as those and our actions taken will then effect what might potentially happen in future world events. The first world event was stated to come to us soon after the release of RS3 and later events three months afterwards. These events will probably be like king of the hill like struggles to fight over current lands such as varrock. Honestly I would look at this skill as adding a bit more fat and muscle to the current lore infrastructure to further enhance the story line. Its kind of like how people view distant histories about real people or places. They don't cherish past events so much because they've never lived it or been so immersed in the after-effects of the events. A good example would be looking at the 9-11 events and how they effect us and then think about how a couple generations from now might view its importance.
  18. That's a rather lame reason... No offense, but you are entitled to do what you want.
  19. probably an activation code like on the cards you buy.
  20. It's been three years since our last skill, I don't think it's just for the "sake" of it. It's about time, really. I'm definitely more in favour of a skill than adapting storylines, but to each their own. They are also trending with other MMO's who encompass more than a certain kind of 'expertise' in understanding a skill set. Plenty of MMO's create skills that are facets of other skill aspects and magic being the prominent one.
  21. Sent a successful 6 lacquer voyage and another 6 lacquer voyage along with a scroll and 5 bones. Should have it down to 24 lacquer to DL plate. Also 20 scrolls left to gain I believe.
  22. What about using treachery and ahrim's book at glacors?
  23. I like your dowsing concept and fits quite well. I can't wait to try out the skill to see how the mechanics work and the concepts behind them as well. It does bug me I'm maxed and will feel a bit lopsided with this release that incorporates other skills.
  24. When I finish getting all my superior and scrolls ports will be nothing more than a visit daily to do rolls for trade goods. It's going to be a much more interactive MTK.
