  1. They'll obviously halt divination from appearing on lamps.
  2. I don't understand why people feel the need to max out resources... I mean getting like 10k of each might be appealing for later content, but really? maxing out at 200k each? Wow.
  3. I have a feeling divination rewards will be something more like gifting from gods, but to what extent would be up for debate. I would imagine progression through divination will be quite similar to that of dungeoneering. Both will have a heavy narrative play through as hinted at by the IGN article. With that said I would suppose divination will be carrying out the works of these gods. I have another feeling from the dictionary definition of divination that we won't necessarily be attempting to foretell things to come. Instead I believe we will be the acting force that makes these events come to fruition. This was also something Mod Mark pointed out that we would be doing. Mark stated the player would be taking an active role in "shaping" the world around us in the events after TWW. What might come fomr from the new skill for example might be some "divine" scripture handed to us from one of the emissaries that reads Saradomin's forces will purge Misthalin of the Zamorakian forces. You might be the enacting force going into the bowels of the Black Knight Fortress killing elite black knights. Keeping in mind that Jagex stated that this skill would incorporate the other skills - this one being the combat skills obviously. So lets start discussing the mechanics of the skill and keep in mind that we might be enacting out our gods will. I feel that divination might be something similar to other outside game mechanics. Specifically I am referring to the mechanics similar to how player owned ports plays out. What I am also eluding to is the old facebook games that make you progress through a story line where encounters and in game experiences are given to you at random, can be rolled through at a whim and reward you with upgrades to outfit you to handle the harder challenges ahead. Keep in mind players probably wont be able to roll through as many challenges as they want. They may be limited much like player owned ports are with 15 voyages and 3 rollovers. Much like player owned ports you might catch a rare chance at a much harder encounter. So ideally as we progress through helping out god in his set of scenarios we might progress to harder scenarios such as facing off against some of the other gods apposing generals in a troll invasion-like way. How we might be rewarded other than experience for obvious skills used I'm not sure what else might come.
  4. Sigh... Just failed my 13 lacquer voyage. I went in thinking it would fail and yet it still stings of disappointment.
  5. I think an ideal setup would be using two telescopes and two jade statues. The 7% trade good and 7% scroll bonus chance outweighs going solely for one or predominantly another. When you are finished collecting either then just go purely on that one. In the end you might want to consider all jade statues when you are looking to make and sell things from ports.
  6. I think their interests lie in content appropriate releases. For example I am fairly certain they will have us a nice piece of weaponry from the ranged dungeon. Although I have a strange feeling this might be mostly to cover the growth of the ranged section by adding higher tier thrown weapons as well as arrows, too I suppose. I guess I'll claim this one as my "calling it" for the ranged dungeons drops.
  7. Sent a joint acquisition for 10 lacquer and gambled a bit sending it at 80% with a merchant. Ballsy? Yeah, but I want that damn death lotus top finished. 36 lacquer from completion and this might knock it down to 23.
  8. Inb4 prayer rework... Or buffs for divination.
  9. Ah my bad. I thought I saw them say they didn't want to do it with her.
  10. They clearly made their stance known that they didn't want to instance nex. I suppose it would be the only logical thing though.
  11. No TG or scrolls tonight... NOTHING. Sigh...
  12. Or channeling. I Really don't see that as all the gods are mortals, but they've gathered so much of this godly energy and lived so long that they have cognitively dissolved the boundaries of mortal thinking. Meaning they don't see anything that can really kill or stop them.
  13. I called it... Pretty much factions, but it seems more of a "worship" twist.
  14. The conversation should never be looking back. Nostalgia is good, but it becomes an issue when looking back hinders your search for a solution. As I see fit jagex should have a set of core goals for the combat system. Transparency in the system should be one of them due to a lack of understanding of what certain statistics mean and what their true potential in combat is as how it is conveyed to the player. Having armour classes is fine. Even making pseudo-classes designed for tank, power and hybrid situations is also fine. What needs to be made clear and known on tool-tips is the relativity of the damage and defense. The on site wiki lets us know what to expect for these, but it should be within the item or combat menu interface. Jagex is doing alright with their armour pseudo-classes. The managed to keep high hitting classes while also helping institute a tanking class. The EOC will always be evolving. It's a bitter sweet thing I suppose... With so many holes as such it gives them ample opportunities to put out new and interesting things for us later on. Sure maybe there is a slight 'drygorescape', but I would rather have that then a predictable release of tier 90 weapons all around.
  15. They are doing decent with optimization. I am going to run lengthier test I the morning, but things are much more smoother. One thing to note is the initial log in is much more smoother. Granted I still get the random wrong area loading at start, but it is corrected more quickly.
  16. Why amuses me is that the large majority if the player base hasn't picked up on is that its called the Evolution of Combat. To emphasis my statement each patch to the EOC was referred to as an EOC update. This means what you see may not be the final product. Hell I am getting a feeling things are going to be constantly patched and changed for combat for a very long time. I think its time for the player base to start developing a new sense of the norm for runescape combat and it's updates. I'm thinking things will be constantly evolving for our combat system. What's so spiteful to the community is that there is quite a bit of change being done to the core of combat and its unsettling even to me.
  17. Is any of the offensive gear worth picking up? I mean in context of slayer and potentially monster hunting (glacor, automatons, etc)
  18. 25 more scrolls to finish ports as well as 36 lacquer. So my lacquer voyage didn't come back successful, but did get and send out a 5 plate and 2 chi voyage. I might be selling a tetsu helm soon...
  19. Good criticism is all encompassing. What that means is you take in the good WITH the bad. When you deliver your criticism you deliver it with commentary dedicated to both what needs change and what good came from the subject of your criticism. C'mon this is like a 101 session with you guys. God forbid any of you are managers... I feel sorry for your employees.
  20. Laughing at how this conversation is discussing the regression of the game.
  21. That's the hard part lol Yeah I bet. I think at least doing things in tandem would be appreciated, but that could be more than just wishful thinking.
  22. Set out a 5 chi at 88% and 5 lacquer at 83%. I better at least get the chi to finish my SS bottom. Currently 2 chi from the SS bottom and 41 lacquer from completing the DL top.
  23. Fps still sucks... Sigh. I wish they would optimize first.
  24. Someone actually made a good point of the potential use of the defensive armours and offensive armours. While defensive might be a bit lack luster for faster kills it offered players more stability in the PVM environment, the community *should* see them as something of tank gear or a buffer to the learning curve. The offensive sets on the other hand would probably be for the more experienced PVMer who is going for faster and more dangerous kills. Sadly though the majority of the community will see these sets as end game and won't look back on the defensive sets. Then when they die because they were ill prepared themselves and only cared to have the best set in the game they'll whine some more.
  25. Might want to look up the definition of narcissism. I don't see the relation. Hypocritical? Yeah, maybe...
