11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
I only used FOTS on one of my ships... slightly regretful, but whatever. What bugs me is now my hopes are mostly dashed on ever getting much out of ports after completing everything inside of it. I mean it would be nice to see myself getting a scroll or a bit of trade goods every day I log in.

I would much prefer the mask of kura.

18-March-2013: Dealing with games of chance
You can't have freedom without taking some rights away. Ideally this is the case because the gambling was getting out of hand. The reason they didn't include selective emotes for these things is a forethought. Players who are less likely to follow their self-imposed gambling rules and cheat the visitors would simply adjust. One good example of this would be to continue their gambling games on the notion that most people don't follow up on rule change, game updates and amendments. They could easily run their games until someone points them out in the community. In that case it would become something similar to the whole "item trimming" scam. The player running the game, now a scam, could bait players with several smaller bets. The when it comes to the larger bets take their money back plus some by faking the next much larger bet.

That mask of the kura looks amazing and would make an awesome override. Edit: I really hope this wasn't the "exciting news" they had planned. I mean great to get 3x slayer xp and increased drops, but I'm looking for more backstory.

Zaros isn't dead because his original body hasn't been found and destroyed.

Mort Myre, Morytania etc. derive from romance word 'mort' meaning death. We actually have Death already ingame, do you propose him as a god? Didn't he serve Guthix? BTW, "the lesser god" was Zaros. It was a hypothetical cenerio. Sorry, I should have told you. Not so much of a hypotheorizing than throwing random shit around. That was the point because all we can do right now is throw things around. Really, let it go.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
I think the way guthix put it in his noragi civilization test was best when describing how the gods are. For example Zaros might play "puppeteer" by using an outside concept such as creating a counsel of elders. Whereas Saradomin might keep a "holier than thou" mentality and pick one person who is the strongest, most devote and shows the most righteous foresight to his cause. In the end both gods end the issue of not having a leader. ... Zamorak might just slaughter the rebellious people and stand up the ones who are the strongest, vicious and dedicated to his cause. This would all be despite the people's wishes.

Yeah I agree... For all we know Zamorak could have overthrown a lesser god in Morytania (maybe his name was Mori or Moryte). My point though is speculation right now isn't good for hard line lore enthusiasts, but it certainly is fun guessing potential backstory.

I bet they'll let us run essence to it. They shouldn't fork it over so easily.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
Azzanadra seems to have a good heart all around. I bet he would reflect a spell binding Zaros to a host back on to Sliske. Thereaftet stating that sliske was too much of a risk to the empire. Would make for a nice GM comical climax twist. Anyone notice how Sliske has the darkest skin of all his kin?
-
Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
That is a really awesome idea to what might go on. I mean Sliske could have been doing/hiding a heck of a lot in his shadow realm. I would imagine that the shadow realm might actually be something moreso under Zaros power of influence and had only taught Sliske how to manipulate it. With that said maybe Zaros actual body might be locked up in a deep dark shadowy fortress in the shadow realm.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
How do you know when jagex never stated that a place such as Franeskae lies somewhere in the distance from Gielenor? I suppose it would be common knowledge now to assume those two places aren't in fact planes, but worlds on two different planes. Dimensions = planes.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
It doesn't make it any less stupid. "Universe" is meant to be the all encompassing entirety of existence. "Multiverse" is just redundant. Actually, no. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYAdwS5MFjQ And http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI50HN0Kshg OR (I'm more of a fan of this one) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkxieS-6WuA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ySBaYMESb8o Can go on all day, the point is, the term "multiverse" is not redundant, far from it actually... May I suggest you consider the idea of looking at a universe as a "plane" of existence with its own natural "rules", and compare it to a multiverse, where there might be other universes with different rules? I guess that's the tl;dr version. Right, exactly its more than one plan of existence.
-
Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
Yeah let's stop griping about this... It's all conceptual anyways when jagex uses terms like multiverse anyways. All we need to know is that the gods can essentially 'walk' from one world to the next. How log this might take is unknown though.
-
Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
Why don't some of you go look into the concept of Magic: The Gatherings multiverse. While you are at it look into what planeswalking is from MTG and what a planeswalker is. i think our 'gods' ate viewd as gods but are more akin to what planeswalkers are. I'm fairly certain that runescape might be viewed at a plan of existence moreso that a world within a universe. Gielenor being the planet we are on.

4th March - The World Wakes
Just saw a pic of the 'star' in guthix' memories you visit during the quest posted on the rs wiki. Honestly if you try to convince someone that thing isn't a dais dedicated to saradomin... lets just say you need a refresher course on the god symbols.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
Well look at it this way... The Stone of Jas is a rather leaky power source. The Frostenhorn magnifies any power. The Staff of Armadyl is basically the elder 'magic weapon' artifact. The crown of saradomin a tracker of elder artifacts yet attractor of those using them. Now we turn to the skargoroth sword to understand its true powers. From what is shared the sword lets you 'slice through reality' to get places. But honestly is that really is all to the swords power? I don't think so considering that the other gods are able to walk freely around the multiverse making this piece seemingly a bit dull. It's been stated that it would be some time before the other gods find out about the death of guthix and destruction of his edicts. There was also the implication that it was also up to the gods to attempt to find their way back to the world once they found out. This means that the gods do walk to multiverse making the swords power not so bright. But! There is a but... What is the sword wasn't what it seemed. What if the sword had powers over reality. That would make the whole 'slice'ing between worlds understandable. Plus I would almost like to this the gods had to use their power to walk the multiverse and manifest themselves. While with the sword of skargoroth you only needed to know where you wanted to go, slice through reality, go through and you were there. In essence the sword had control over travel. Now suppose the sword had control over travel in the multiverse... Maybe with the stone of jas you could pump enough magical power to ramp up the effects the sword could have on others. Suppose guthix used both in conjunction to temporarily banish the others because he was in possession of the sword initially.

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
My theory is that guthix striped the power from the skargoroth sword by banishing the other gods. What we then probably see in the northeastern wilderness is the residual energy from the sword from it shattering on impact. Either that or prolonged manifestation of his spell due to the swords aid in augmenting the spells power of influence. After doing that he then must have gathered the pieces to prevent its reconstruction and eventual misuse. This magic stuff can get pretty technical!

Tribute to Guthix and New Combat Abilities
I smell a foreshadowing of backstory to who/what the goblins really worshipped before Bandos came about. I am thinking that the goblins worshipped this white tusked being because they admired its traits. From my understanding goblins of the past seemed to be slightly in tune with nature and in awe of primal fury (because I think that's initially how bandos swayed them). Some time after the battle I'm thinking bandos finished off tuska to lay claim to her followers.

11-Dec-2012 - Player-Owned Ports
Got all three helms and nearing tetsu legs and halfway to sea singer legs made. I think I got all four death lotus head scrolls within a week. I got tetsu and sea singer scrolls completed and working on death lotus legs. My crew is still coming along and I might hold off on the trip voyages until my lowest crew is around level 8. Until then its all scrolls.
