  1. Over my nearly ten years playing Runescape I've noticed a trend as far as specializations within the community. Often I would run into the pure skiller, pure pker, PvMer, etc and they are very easily distinguishable by their interests in game play and will often be able to give you some kind of insight to their type of game play. While some of these new areas have existed probably since the beginning of the game those who belong within these groups might tell you that they have taken their field of expertese to hieghtened levels that have never been seen before until recent years. Lately several other specialization have risen to the top and its intrigues me to see where these types of players might come into play in terms of Jagex grand scheme for the game. Some of our greatest community members would be recognized under one of these "titles" and with that they gain a profound amount of respect from the community and when Jagex catches sight of this thing things tend to follow later on such as Woox's video of fighting Jad with only one prayer point. Jagex may eventually start to cater to the efficienado or the PvM DPS maximizer by offering more weapons and armour that the average player might not see what niche it fits into, but to those players they'll clearly be able to assess exactly where this new piece of equipment will go. A recent example of this type of move Jagex made is the ganodermic set and all I've been hearing is how its going to completely change the tactics to fighting the corporeal beast. Over those ten years of playing I've noticed several types of players and noticed a few more prominent types of players blooming from the community: The Efficianado: Someone who spends a larger amount of time not just playing the game, but mastering the techniques of gameplay to maximize both cash spend per xp point and/or xp gained per hour. These are some of our communities more valuable players becuase even though someone such as I don't enjoy playing at such a level of efficiency I still enjoy looking into their research to find the The Calculator: This player is usually a PvMer who has taken PvM to a new level. Gone are they days of everyone just all out smashing the boss. Today we see several players who aren't just mashing out the stat numbers, but are figuring out boss weaknesses, strengths, if the boss needs a tank, the highest defensive attributes to work best against the boss and how to maximize DPS and team survivability. These two group are just a couple of examples of new and emergent gameplay that we are seeing in Runescape. With that said I was curious what would you classify yourself as? No one falls exactly in one group or the other mind you. I, for example, appreciate efficiency, but I weigh comfort equally to efficiency and there is a certain degree of cash loss that I'll tolerate. You wont ever really see me deeply crouched over the keyboard kiting a boss, flashing prayers and switching out gear like some of our brightest and most elite boss hunters are known for doing.
  2. Update hint for the new angel wings and aztec outift. The wings have that angelic-archaic look with a fade on the tips. I'm somewhat pleased they didn't make a replica of the prayer emote wings, but I'm sure there are many out there somewhat disappointed that wasn't the case. I'm actually looking toward buying one of the angel/demon wings becuase I used to really like playing on the Ragnorok Online private servers and the angellic/demon/faery wings were a big hit there. Truth be told I wont be surprised to see some rants on the forums for the release of faery wings as well. Maybe faery wings could have a constant restore for summoning points?
  3. Troll invasion has been changed so that you are required to kill everything on the last wave instead of just Cliffto end the D&D.
  4. Almost 99 dung... After that I think I'll go fish. The way this is going I think I might be maxing on either farming or agility.
  5. Has anyone got to looking at the media section of the new runescape website? I decided to go look at it since for the longest while its been something of a source for leaked upcoming updates. While looking at the picture a good many of them were removed while replacing them with videos and other pictures. While looking at a picture of a player overlooking the troll camp in trollheim I noticed a small minimap icon located just next to the world map icon and I was curious as to what this might be. The icon has a bluish-grey background with the largest coin stack picture in the center of it. I know Jagex has been wanting to phase out some of the currencies and I was wondering if this was part of their plan. Also I was thinking about the item-kept-on-death location and that was a bit of an inconvenience so maybe it could be a quick look button? Anyways any speculations? FYI: Its Game Info -> Media
  6. You know normally I buy and understand the faqs and stuff they posted, but 80% of the highs scores FAQ seems to be using the bots as a scapegoat... Mind you some of the reasons seemed legit most seemed like a push to make p2p more exclusive with the botting issue as a overall.
  7. Getting better... 96 dg. 16 levels from maxing: 4 fishing, 3 dg, 2 slay, 4 farm, 3 agi.
  8. I just might Obt. I don't mind learning, but efficiency has a line with me and good dg communication isn't stepping across that line. I've been learning a bit lately and its been getting better, but most of the time people are nitpicking over dumb things like when they ask me to farm a pot for a door, i got another door on gs and they want me halfway across the dung for a gd. I had that earlier today and what I'd give to call that guy out.
  9. Is there a CC for like warped floors?
  10. Just got my first warped floor. Unlocked blink, dread and the torque songs. 4 songs left to unlock. Need world-gorger, hope devourer, victory is mine and kal'ger.
  11. Should definitely get 94 dg from this... I'm reeeaaally pushing for 95, but its looking very rough.
  12. Took a slayer break to unlock everything from dominion tower. So now I have the best gloves for all classes, 1100 dreadnip pouches... Also I took some time to dung and get my arcane stream necklace, wasted a ton of slayer points to buy 8k death runes for the new task. 287k from 98 slayer. Oh and 95 farming as well. Slow days these days...
  13. Do i need to have a DF of 10k or more in order to get the colossal bomb? I'm a bit confused.
  14. Its stated they last 5 hours of combat.
  15. Just did it... Now to get 280 more boss kills.
  16. Got a question... Does fighting double nomad count to unlock nomad?
  17. The medallion helps restore your brewed stats.
  18. I got a tip i think no one has tried before with the decaying avatar... Safespot and ruby bolt(e) him with leech defense until about 1/2 - 1/3 health then pop protect melee and melee him the rest of the way. The trick is to keel walking under him or either have him constantly moving while you ping him. I just won the fight against him by doing this.
  19. You can get them on floor 6 and higher, not 1-5. Really should be put on te wiki. Thanks dude!
  20. You mean fight #9+ or just fight #9?
  21. I'm wondering why I'm getting every other boss, but class A's doing endurance... Anyone know why? By the way I've been exiting out often for journal pages.
  22. Ah man here I go doing indigestion...
  23. How many casts? I'll probably do tonight with near max mage gear.
  24. How about this? http://fixapplenow.com/category/portable/screen-repair.html got this one too... http://www.unitedcamera.com/products/4th-gen-ipod-touch/#ShowSelections Can't seem to find any "local" or family owned places.
  25. Does anyone have any good insight on how to get this fixed? I could get a whole kit to do it myself on ebay for bout $35, but the whole process seems daunting especially the part about warming up the adhessive agent and reconnecting the Ipod back together. Are there any reliable services out there that do not cost too much? Also any very informative videos might help. Any help is greatly appreciated.
