Runescape gets a facelift - google news
Here is a link to some artwork to some places we've visited and places we've yet to even see. Some people speculate the building designs may be for ardougne. http://www.kotaku.com.au/2012/01/runescape-is-getting-a-facelift-heres-some-art/ Here are some images we haven't seen:

Welp that rules out the lunar clan.

Wasn't the writing referring to the hidden ability of the dancer being the thing the team was after? Thats what I read it as. Her species had fire power and then in her rage she unleashed a higher level of power becoming monster-like and deadly after they cut holes on her fingertips in the gloves that suppressed her fire power. Essentially it pretty much seems the dancer = boss of the new quest and we are getting a new race introduced into lore. Some sort of fire elemental/human hybrid that the freminnik slaughtered in their war against magic, believing them to have some magical artefact; but then enslaved the last few using some sort of gloves that controlled their fire power, with holes at the fingertips so they could leak out just enough fire to be used as cooks. Might it be related to the Fire Warrior of Lesarkus? Oh this quest is really opening up a lot in terms of pas lore... Could be that or the lunar clans involvement in the past with Zaros. This is getting very juicy...

Just got the goblin champion challenge and one-hit him! Wewt! Man I though for sure I would be spending a week or more just getting that drop. I might return to do the others after maxing and getting my completionist cape. I believe they really need to up the reward on this because the effort to get one scroll should offer xp similar to effigies. Well back to agility... This month is nothing, but good for me. Pretty much guerrenteed agility xp from firemakers curse and even more bonus agility xp from using skolls boots.

Champions' Challenge - more than meets the eye?
I'm working on my completionist cape and getting the champion challenge music is something that has to be done. I'm curious what the drop rates are on all these. Yes, to me it was worth "necroing." I could care less otherwise what anyone thinks.

Just started camping ghouls with faruq's ticker tool... God this is going to hurt, but I need it done for completionist cape. After this pretty much back to agility and fishing... Farming will come in bouts.

Sooo 98 farming tonight. I also got 97 fishing a couple days back. I'm going to work on getting 97 agility quick before I hit 550k to 99 farming. If I have any time and/or want a break I might go camp imps and go get the flash factory music. On the PVM side of things I went out and spent some time with some real good friends to learn how to do corp beast and we got in about 20 or less kills. I bought a bandos godsword, used my z spear and bought ganodermic top and bottom and we owned it. I had to solo it for a bit several times because my friend kept getting owned.

max/comp cape
Ok I'm sorry I guess I should have clarified my question a bit more. I was a bit too tired last night so I put in a half-fast question. I'm interested to know if the max/completionist capes are treated similarly to, say the ardougne cape? With the ardougne cape you automatically keep it on death and is neither destroyed or put under your gravestone.

max/comp cape
Are they kept on death? Like say if you went to corp and you died.

How about for someone going to DKs? Should they be made? Edit: Not tring to pirate your thread. I just know people who slay DKs on dag tasks and I was curious about the bolts being used there.

Blooming specializations
Hum... I guess there was a somewhat elitest aire to my post here, but in general what I was addressing the idea that there is a place for everyone. My thought kind of bloomed from a thoery to how communities handle the death of someone within the community. Basically the theory stated everyone has a roll within the community whether they know it or not. When death occures people feel the loss of that person as a resource: whether they were a means of financial security, a highly respected person in the family such as a grandmother you talk to for comfort and understanding, a social connection to others, etc. People play rolls in all kinds of different communities. You are right that there really isn't a booming community for high level players who are mostly in-the-know of everything.

But they aren't supposed to be actual wings; they are meant to be a shimmering magical aura, the same as the vague colour shapes we get on weapons from auras. To me its perfectly fitting that they are flat given their context. How would you know the exact intent of the wings? In the fantasy world they could very well have the capacity for flight. Because RS isn't a 3d flying game, so the closest we'll get to flying is floating. Plus, none of the revealed screenshots show someone floating. We are playing a fantasy game where a good bit, despite Jagex attempts to create visually pleasing material, is still made up by us, the players, in our imaginations. When I buy my demonic wings I will be getting them for both esthetic reasons as well as the thought of my avatar having aura-like demonic wings that will let me fly around wreaking demonic havoc on your soul! (in my imagination)

/cycnical typical rant You should really look into some of the changes that they'll be implementing. I think the whole tool belt concept is a great idea and I just hope that they'll make it so you can store at least 3 different tools on it. This is really a much needed thing concidering some of their recent releases have used a ecosystem concept where players are supposed to work together (jadinko lair, herblore habitat and the recently released polypore dungeon). also one of the best ideas to come out for interface design has been the use of keyboard shortcuts. I would honestly like to think that the F keys were a hit, moreso for PvMers, PKers and the like so now they are going to pilot the use of the space bar for the continue chat option and numbers to quick-pick other options. Really I am liking both up-coming changes becuase there hve been plenty of situations where combat has broken the interface before I could click on something. One great example would be when you are in combat and for some reason don't want to equip a teleport jewelry and are trying to quickly teleport out. Instead players would wait out one one combat tick, and clicking precisely on 'rub' and the number key for edgeville.

Blooming specializations
Oh, well, thanks. I do read them once in a while to be honest. My interest really lies in how people view the game. I think that people specialize themselves in some area on the game in some way over the time they play. I mean even if you don't feel like you are anything big to the community maybe you're one of those long standing players who feels they are a literal fount of knowledge who sits in the clan/friend chat giving advice about everything. I guess the point is we all assume roles in the community whether we know it or not... For example Sy is very analytical and, in all honesty, its good to have someone to help weed out the less thought out and nonsensiical information so others have a clearer view of things in the world. I'll admit I literally just typed up my idea without much thought becuase its been a concept floating in my mind for years and I felt like blurting it out than rather making the effort to make a worthy presentation like most tip.it article writers do.

I hit 99 dung a while ago just haven't posted. Right now I'm back into slayer and I'm thinking the best route for farming is doing fellstalk herb runs becuase it should be better xp than torstol and the cash lose isn't an issue with them. So far I'm sitting at like 135k from 98 slayer and 78k from 96 farming. I've already done this weeks penguins and this months trolls so three days and I should hit 98 slayer and get 96 farming from assists. After these two levels I should be 11 levels from maxing. I'm thinking of taking a break to camp ganodermic beasts to get another set and staff plus some for money. I almost got my 60m debt pull and paid.

I wouldn't look at it as ramble. To be honest since starting to play everyone has taken some form of higher interest in the game. I consider myself someone who wants to complete the game. Some people start the game really digging the thought of being a do-it-yourselfer while others enjoy crunching numbers. I spent my time creating the post because I was interested in the kinds of specialized game play people divulge in.

Currency tab?
So it is a currency tab. Interesting... I could honestly see them implimenting other currencies there such as loyalty points, castle war tickets, ecto-tokens, tokkul, etc. Not having to log into the loyalty program or visit xaun to see my points would actually not be a bad idea.

Skaldrun's images are up. Here is a picture of the demonic wings. Quick find code: 16-17-247-63420746 Also someone pointed out that with the wings you also get a blue/white or red/black eye-glow depending on the wings you buy.
