07-Sep-10 Elite Diaries!
i'll do a lapalok task after the one i'm currently assigned to find out (sometime in teh future) if you still don't have the stats by then. dunno when i'll feel like doing slayer though :P it only applys to 10th & 50th tasks I'm inquiring about the reward itself not the requirement.

07-Sep-10 Elite Diaries!
You really answered your own problem here, no? The release of the elite diaries was a little humbling for me. I generally consider myself at that second rung, right below those whom are either maxed or really close to it. This update exposed a lot of the shortcomings of my character's skills. Ultimately, it's a great motivator. I have some nice new long term goals (91 Runecrafting, 95 Pray, 95 Summon) that were already things I would have liked, but now have a better reason to chase after. Absolutely -LOVE- the rewards, too. Not too heavily overpowered, but definitely worth the time invested in training and executing. This, by my standards, was a four-star update. I agree with this guy too. These diaries coupled with the effigy levels are perfect for the nearly maxed players who are lacking content to motivate them. Im pretty much 90+ in all skills and soon to be working on 95+. Diaries and effigies are what breaks the monotony by getting us to walk away from the grind and go do our assists every day. I'll probably be 95 dungeoneering and hunter before i decided to go get everything else 95+. Those skills have sooo been lacking attention lol.

07-Sep-10 Elite Diaries!
So it seems that no one knows how many extra slayer points lapalok gives after the elite karamja diaries. I've been searching these forums, the RSOF and runescape wiki and still nothing. Has anyone figured out what lapalok gives?

Returning lost dung rewards
I was curious as if there was anything said on this. I could have sworn that there was a jmod that said that they would discuss there being an option for this. Does anyone have any relavent information regarding this?

Sooo I think I dungeoneered to much...
To my thats an exaggeration. I'd definitely do 1,000,000 tokens for sure. Thats under the assumption they'd make it to where you couldn't gatestone too close to a boss lair.

Sooo I think I dungeoneered to much...
Lmfao... Thats funny as hell. I could see myself saying go fish some.

Sooo I think I dungeoneered to much...
My favorite dusties spot is in the chaos tunnels and I also rely on varrock/home teletabs when I slay.

Sooo I think I dungeoneered to much...
I plan on using it for PVM, PVP, metal drags and maybe a few hard slayer tasks. Im not wading into this arguement lol so don't even start.

Sooo I think I dungeoneered to much...
So after a massive dungeoneering streak to get my chaotic longsword, which I finally got by the way, I stopped for a slayer break to test it out. I brought the usual equipment.... But after 90 dusties into the task I realised I forgot something that every slayer needs to maximize profit. My trusty gem bag! So I went through my thought processes and thought to my self no problem I'll just gatestone my dusties spot, teleport to varrock, banked for it and teleport back. Someone tell me what was wrong with this picture? On a second note... I hope they come out with an herb bag. I also hope that batch 2.0 doesn't outdo the longsword, because I'll be pee'd.

Unofficial Dungeoneering Servers?
Im big on smithing and kitting up... Its like the funnest part!

Unofficial Dungeoneering Servers?
w77 huh? im going to check that one out. I cant stand the lag... Its like standstill after clearing every other room.
-
Unofficial Dungeoneering Servers?
Do we have another besides w117? The lag wasnt so bad before, but now it seems rediculous and I want "out" of using w117. Maybe we could start another more lag friendlier server?

A dungeoneering 'must have'?
For those who train dungeonering one of the most overlooked pains is having to check and recheck which rooms you have and have not completed. I know many players don't go straight down the line from 1-35 and often jump around a lot. Sometimes you just don't remember at all where you left off where you completed rooms leaving you to check before you join a party and after you complete a room. Whats more annoying is that sometimes you want to check during a raid session and your ring wont allow this. Well, I'd also like to think its possible some of this might come in dungeoneering batch 2, but who knows. I think it would be nice to have a room completion chart similar to the one in your party interface that you can easily right click to open on your ring any time you want.

Dungeoneering clans
I wouldn't "ragequit" lol... I've had the patience to get nearly every stat 90+ and max combat I think I can handle a 90 minute large dungeon. Yeah I might not be great at rushing, but if I see someone take the game so seriously that they wont teach someone to rush is rediculous. The faster to 80+ and getting the longsword the better to be honest. I wouldn't mind getting there before batch 2 just so there is something else to work towards. The only stats under 90 are hunter (86), farming (85) and dungeoneering (57).

Dungeoneering clans
What if you had other levels than dungeoneering? Could you join that clan?

Dungeoneering clans
I may just do it this summer lmao. I wonder if anyone would be interested in helping?...

Dungeoneering clans
I thought about making one for dungeoneering and boss hunting for the sheer experience of seeing how it would go. I don't have the time or interest in running a clan, but I've also thought of ways that the clan could run itself without powerhungry goobers trying to step on others toes. Just the fact that there would be so many with chaotic rapiers, longs and the shields would make each boss trip crazy fun.

Dungeoneering clans
Do they exist? I mean seriously this is the first group cooperation skill to runescape and clan wise it ties in so nicely with boss hunting. I haven't been able to fully study how a clan would go about doing this, but its certainly has peaked my interest since release. I think the only irritating thing would be the fact that players need to have the levels to do consecutive runs.

constitution, prayer, and summoning
To be honest I agree with this. The concept of the split between lp and constitution pretty much hit me two days after the update and I was stuck wondering the same thing myself. I mean constitution conceptwise is kind of like hardiness. The more hardier a player is the more they can withstand. The same thing should go for prayer and summoning. I guess I should try and put a name to these kind of skills. How about "influencial skills?" Currently constitution is the only skill that will have the ability to be influenced by gear. For example maybe we'll have some gear that will give you a 1.25x lp/constitution lvl boost. Something like that would raise the lp cap from 990 to... 1113 (if truncated). Isn't that neato? Imagine summoning and prayer being that that. The only question I have is aren't prayer and summoning already like that? they are skills that drain and the drain rate is dependant on the options selected and what prayer bonuses they have. So to be honest maybe having prayer and summoning like this wouldn't be neccessary unless you were trying to keep things uniform.

Bare-handed catching
Ok a little information... I'm 82 hunter and a member of the "I hate hunter" fan group. What would be the best butterfly to attempt to bare-handed catch and get the best xp/hour. I want to say sapphire glacialis after 85, but I might be wrong. My goal is to do hunter after a huge summoning streak and these look like an amazing alternative to training.

New Slayer Changes Discussion
Ok I guess I may either be wrong or stumbled on a bug (might have been fixed already). I went to theslayer tower for a nechryael task and tried killing a gargoyle and it wouldn't automatically deal the killing blow without the hammer on me.

New Slayer Changes Discussion
For those interested in the equivilent of 2k points worth of slayer strike runes its 57 turn-ins or about 5.5m gp in runes.

New Slayer Changes Discussion
No, you do not. After buying the ability I went for a Bork run and while going there I decided I might as well test it. While going to the fissure in the earth I remembered I might need to bring the hammer, but I forgot it. I figured I'd keep going on and see if the killing blow would happen without the hammer on me and it did.

New Slayer Changes Discussion
I would like to clarify to everyone that when you buy the killing blow option it allows you to kill zygomites, desert lizards, gargoyles and rock slugs without having to use or even have these items on you (fungicide, ice box, rock hammer or bags of salt) to deal the finishing blow. That means these tasks wont annoy you either... well worth the 400 points in my opinion.

Save the Date! 26-Feb-2010
Suddenly everyone feels like they are an economics authority (clearly not the first person to say this, might I add). The only relevent issue would be the amount of xp gained and levels gained. Then again Jagex has been veering towards skill concepts that force people to train rather than buy/afk train a skill. No more make X crap... We have skills like hunter, construction, farming, slayer (more so with strykewyrms because of their special attack), and runecrafting that require a degree of interaction. Because of this change in game play they can afford to do bonus xp weekends. Also Jagex has made it clear they are more focused on the long term play rather than the usual end-game play aspect most games like WoW assume so they can and should be able to get away with bonus xp periods. Thats not to say they aren't focused on end game type material (nomads reqium, corporial beast, etc.).
