  1. Well, here's another one of those utterly pointless, 'I'm quitting' topics. I'm not quitting because I can't get cash or because I'm an idiot like most, although it will have no impact what-so-ever, it's my little way of giving the V sign to Jagex. Regardless of how appealing their game is and how much I would actually like to play it, I have principals and I highly disagree with things they have done and ways in which they conduct themselves (though I won't comment, that would just get too laborious for me). So... I didn't know many of you here, but I know that this is, for the majority, a great community and there were few people here and there that I thought we were really good players compared to most, so I am glad I have been a part of these forums for however short a time it was. So, this is me being my silly little stubborn self with morals, but I find it to my liking :) Besides, some level 27 in Falador by the name of [Edited out name--Mullein] just got lucky. I picked him at random to take my most expensive items (it wasn't exactly a p hat, I was only level 59, but he did get 2 million gp's worth of stuff, and that's pretty good for a level 27). So, that's that then. Off I plod into the big wide world, ta ta!
  2. How strange, even I felt weirdly happy when I finished reading that and I had nothing to do with it :) I'm glad there are still people who take friendships seriously and don't let the materialism take over.
  3. It's a deliberate play on words by Jagex for those who know of these things to get a joke, for example, Castle of Fenkenstrain - any ideas on what that might be a play on? Perhaps then you'll start to see a pattern.
  4. Hello all, Forgive me if this is the wrong forum board to use, but I thought I best give out a preliminary warning as this could be a threat to quite a lot of people and can be easily fallen for. Also note that I have not yet proven this to be a definite scam, but for the sake of your safety, DO NOT COMPLY with what the person will ask you to do (you'll read about it in a minute). Anyway, somebody with the e-mail address [email protected] (sorry for naming you if you are on these boards and this was not a scam) added me on MSNM. I logged on and he asked me about whether I was still selling ranarr seeds. I told him that I had never actually posted about selling ranarr seeds so he said that's strange, "Have a look at the post, that's where I got your e-mail address". He then gave me a link to an official looking hotmail login page and told me to just login to see the post. I immediately had my suspicions. The address looked official as did the page, but I certainly was not going to put my password in. I think, if this is a scam, it is working on the assumption that your e-mail password may be the same as the one you use for Runescape. Firstly, I don't use boards that have anything to do with hotmail, but I do know that MSN have some sort of thing where users post and it is a possibility that someone was using my e-mail address, though, I find that highly unlikely because if someone signed up to a service with my e-mail address, especially with someone like MSN, I would definitely have got a validation e-mail and I didn't. Anyway, it ended up that he asked me if I had logged in and, for the fun of it, I decided I would put my e-mail address in and a fake password, along the lines of a more obscene way of saying, 'get lost' just to let him know I was on to him. Rather conveniently, he said BRB as soon as I said I had logged in and, rather than have his status as be right back on MSNM, he was instead offline and hasn't returned, it is most likely that he has blocked me. Therefore, I am guessing that at this very moment he is trying to use my Runescape username and the fake password I gave him to log on to my account. Thankfully, I had the sense to send him an 'alternative' password. Anyway, as I said, this is not proven and it could my paranoia, but this is a preliminary warning for you all, even if this is not a scam, don't obide by the demands. If someone says someone using your e-mail address has posted saying you were selling something and you hadn't, just say that you, personally, haven't posted such a thing and move on, DO NOT agree to put in an e-mail address/username and password to check some boards. If it is genuine, ask for a direct link as you can usually view posts on any boards as a guest without having to be logged in. Anyway, I hope this is help to some people and some might have fallen for it already if it is a scam, but this person can just sign up with any online RS forum, look through the member list, and take the e-mails of everyone who has listed themselves with one and try to pull off this possibly convincing scam.
  5. If I can, by the off chance that I have been levelling that skill, I will. However, noever would I think when I got 40 attack and defence that I was about to go and get my smithing to level 99...
  6. Sounds like fun, I should be along, though those blasted skeletons will be attacking me constantly because of my combat level, don't worry, I'm not a noob after phr33 st00f pl0x (what the hell is pl0x anyway?) - but I'm sick of levelling skills, so I want some fun :D But what to wear? what to wear? what to wear? OOOOOOO! I like this community, I'm relatively new to it and already it's good, thank God I found it, when I used to play ages ago, I was with RuneHQ, and, by all means punish me if it's not allowed (though I'm actually sorry if it is) but that place's forums should be nicked 'Auswitz'... :D
  7. Having different races certainly would be interesting and add a little more individualty, but, as already said, it would basically be creating an RS3 as it would take a lot of time. Though, although it could be done and to a satisfactory degree, I don't think it would be worth the time as I feel the game is fine the way it is now.
  8. There is also, of course, the infamous Robin Hood lurking in an unlikely pub in Port Phasmatys. It's quite funny to see all of these references, although, some people just don't get it. I have come across a few people who see them and they know that they are references to certain outside things and they blame jagex for not being very creative because they 'steal' or 'change a little bit' the name of something else because they can't think of anything themselves  Never mind... Though, I have to say, calling some islands Miscellania and Etceteria isn't exactly cutting edge :D
  9. At the moment, I couldn't really say I stick to any particular place. I get bored easily so I go everywhere :) Sometimes I'll be training a skill on one side of Runescape, then I want to do something else, so I might do a quest, which requires me to level another skill, or just get items and go ahead and do it. Then I might try my hand at merchanting every so often, then go train etc. etc. I just do bits and bobs all over the place.
  10. Personally, I think it's rather obvious as to which places would be capitals. If we were only talking about f2p, it would definitely be Varrock. For the whole of Runescape, definitely Ardougne. Falador is a good 'town', but I would say it could be classed as a mining town, rather than a capital of Runescape. Port Sarim is a port, it just doesn't work for me :) And other places are too small, even though small can work sometimes, it doesn't here :D
  11. When somebody finishes the second part of it for 'high levels' (not that I can any longer trust Jagex's judgement considering the last two rewards from recent quests) please let me know about the reward.
  12. I've been going to edgeville, though only four times, and I've had two normal monster assignments and two slayer monster assignments.
  13. Forgive my lack of knowledge, but what is this, 'Zaros Mjolnir'?
  14. Oh God, so they are. Now I feel stupid. I had no idea that these were spells already in existence  Ignore all that then, I'll edit it out.
  15. (Note: I wasn't sure where this would fit in, so sorry if it needs moving) I was browsing the Runescape forums and a thread, which was rather interesting, about suggesting a possible spell(s). I thought I would bring the discussion here to see what people come up with. Remember: -Keep it feasible. -Add level requirements. -(Of course) Give it a name. -Give rune requirements. -Description of spell. -Don't do anything with a stance of flaming, generally ridiculous things or anything that deals stupid amounts of damage. You could even create your own runes to suit the spell.
  16. Forgive my late comments on this subject, but I shall comment anyway. I can only be thankful to have found that there are, in fact, people in this world who do believe that the English language, or any others for that fact, are not to be battered for absolutely no rational reason what so ever. However, naturally, there is heavy irony with the situation. For, those people who actually take the time to read such an article are the ones who don't need telling. On the other end of the spectrum, those who do need telling either don't (/can't) read it or they do read it and lack the intelligence to take the criticism in a good fashion and instead mutter ludicrous profanities under their breath with the wit that their neanderthal ancestors possessed.
  17. I think this was nothing more than an insult to the greatness Peter Sellers began and should have ended the Pink Panther series with. First off all, and no offence to any Americans, I'm sure you all know it's true anyway, but British films are always of better quality than American ones. With America, it's all about money and if it's comedy, it's all in your face, blatant childish comedy with no sarcasm or irony. The old films may not have been outwardly funny (and only in very few places were they not might I add), but it actually had quality and intelligence. Putting a ridiculous moustache on Steve Martin and asking him to live up to the comedy genius of Peter Sellers is absolutely ridiculous. Well, that's me done :)
