Halo Discussion thread
Yeah you were awesome. Sorry about me and my friends though lol Sidewinder was the best map in Halo 1. I love that place. It's huge. But it isn't as direct as standoff / valhalla (you can't see each other's bases because the map curves iirc) I think my right stick isn't as responsive anymore. It takes a while for it to recognize what I want it to aim at. Even my left stick actually. It's loose for the forward control now. Too much Halo I guess :P

Christians: Why do you go to mass?
Two other people already said that... :? Yeah, when I was a kid, I hated mass. I can't stand still for more than 2 mins and I can't kneel for more than 10 secs. But it was interesting to see how so many people my parents knew from the community. If it wasn't for church, my parents would see those people once every blue moon. It kind of keeps a tighter knit because it gives people a reason to dress up and go out once a week.

Christians: Why do you go to mass?
Overzealous atheists need not apply  First of all, I grew up as a Christian, but I consider myself agnostic. Why? Because I don't believe in Jesus Christ nor do I believe in the Bible. Yet I go to mass 2-3 times a month on Sundays during the 10:30 mass. Not only do I go to mass, I'm actually a volunteer usher. I'll admit I only started to do this because I needed to fill up the 40 hr volunteer requirement for high school diploma. But as I completed my 40 hrs (a year ago or so), I came to realize the importance of religion in the community. I see it like a glue that holds the community together. Going to mass for me transcends the ridiculousness of religion and rather go to contribute to society/community. The part where this really shines is when the priest asks you to wish each other the sign of peace. I'm 18 years old and for the better first half of my life, I was forced to go to mass as a Christian. Now as an adult, I go to mass freely as an agnostic. Not to mention I love the choir's music. :-)

So the 360 has been selling 2x that of the PS3 in Japan
Why though? Oh ya, and Gears might sell more than 5 million. It's got a lot of buzz, and the 360 market has expanded a lot since the last one. And CliffyB never shuts up about how cool it/he is. Throw a melancholy song into a faux-arty TV spot and Epic can just print money. -BUT- At the same time, there are all those other enormous games coming out this fall to eat into its sales. And also, since it's release, Gears has gotten a lot of critisism for it's [wagon]-slapping uber-macho frat guy appeal that has turned a lot of adult gamers off. Good exclusives are a dying breed. If you consider that many games (from your list) coming out as AAA in just one season, then I don't think there's a point in calling them AAA to begin with. Maybe AA only :P

Gears of War sold more than 4 million copies in total and that's a new IP. AAA titles are high-budget games that could be exclusive or non-exclusive that carries a lot of hype (ie. I only consider a game to be AAA if it's an exclusive). For example, 360's Halo 3, PS3's MGS4, Wii's Mario Kart, Smash Bros., Mario Galaxy.

Halo 3 sold 8 or so million copies and it was released last year. With a larger installed base, 5 mil isn't impossible although it's quite unlikely.

A twist on obesity in Britain
As much as a failure those parents are for having obese (not that there's a fine line being overweight and plain obese) kids, taking them away isn't going to solve anything other than [bleep] up the family even more. If only parents learned to say "NO" to their kids, obesity wouldn't be a problem. Someone post the pic of that fat-Michelin-like kid eating at McDs. [bleep]ing disgusting.

Yeah, this is what I'm talking about. The only non-360 game I'm looking forward to playing is LittleBigPlanet (looks VERY promising), but it isn't very well commercialized not to mention Spore will bury it to oblivion. But still, that is a sweet-looking game.

i don't get it. you say i'm full of [cabbage] but you just reiterated my point?

My definition is a system seller. Animal Crossing for the Wii would move the Gamecube owners who hasn't bought the Wii yet. Not to mention it really caters to the crowed Nintendo is targetting. Killzone 2 is a title for the PlayStation with all the hype along with it. The only reason why Resistance sold so much is because it was one of the few decent games when the PS3 came out. SOCOM is another *possible* contender... but honestly? You never hear of that series as often. For Sony: Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Grand Tourismo, Final Fantasy, ... SOCOM? LBP? Resistance? Not really. For Nintendo: Zelda, Mario Bros., Metroid Prime, Mario Kart, For Microsoft: Halo, Gears of War, Bioshock (when it was released at least). Mass Effect is my favourite 360 game and I wouldn't even consider the second one as an AAA yet. Maybe by the third. Fallout 3, Rock Band, GH, aren't AAA to me because they're multiplatform. There's no special reason to buy one console version over another. Just because I say they aren't AAA doesn't mean they aren't great. How the hell was this a flamebait? Can't you discuss something without flaming? Post an example when I flamed the PS3... go ahead lol. I'll admit I loathe the Wii. But I haven't really talked [cabbage] about the PS3. You are awesome. I love the way you incorporated that word with a game title and made it so freakin' funny.

The small information I included in the OP would've avoided you wasting your time and mine. You throw away the AAA title more than I do. Of that list, the only exclusives I forgot about were Animal Crossing (I didn't know it was coming out this year) and Killzone 2 (which isn't even coming out this year).

You know you just talked out of your arse right? The 360 just outsold the PS3 last week. The stats for this week didn't even come out yet so your "ps3 went back ahead the week after" is a complete lie. Anyway, this is the website: http://www.m-create.com/ranking/ You don't have to speak Japanese to understand the bottom table.
